Open Source IDE eclipse

I love eclipse It is by far the most interesting open source desktop software I have ever used. It might be annoying sometime due to incompatibilitie between plugins but it constantly amazes me how fast it evolves and just how many different things you can develop with it.

Today I developed my first plugin using eclipse PDE (Plug-in Development Environment)

I wish I had something more exciting to say, lol.

Playing house with soup

Here I am playing house with my pet tortoise soup back in 1994. I forgot about his stuffed animal collection. Soon after I got him a baby tortoise as in as a friend.

Here I am winning balderdash but (e:mike) refused to let me have the moment and get a pic of it.

He defined the acronym NALG as the National Alliance of Latino Gangs but his handwriting definately reads National Alliance of Latino Gays. Needless to say no one voted for it.

Here I am being a snowman in 1995 at Michael's Florist on Deleware in Kenmore. At least that is not my job anymore.

Thanks Chuck Schumer

Dear Mr. Visco:

Thank you for writing and sharing your thoughts about America's financial crisis. I agree with you that giving the Secretary of the Treasury authority over a $700 billion dollar fund to stabilize the financial system, without any checks on his authority, or oversight of his actions, would have been a grave mistake. However, the severity of this economic crisis forced the Congress to act in order to save Main Street from further financial pain. If we had not acted when we did, small businesses trying to fill orders and meet payroll, students looking to pay for college, consumers looking to buy cars and so many others would have faced even greater economic hardships, which would have been disastrous for household wealth and jobs in our country.

That is why I made the difficult decision to support the administration's rescue plan after insisting on changes to the program to ensure that taxpayers will share in the rewards of recovery, that executives of these mismanaged financial institutions would not be enriched with taxpayer money, and that there would be effective oversight of the program. When the economy recovers, taxpayers should be able to recoup most, or all, of this money because the federal government will earn a return from any investments it makes in banks needing assistance. To hold the banks' executives accountable, the bill requires that all companies that benefit from government assistance limit how much they pay their top employees and, in many cases, eliminate golden parachutes entirely. And to guarantee effective oversight of the rescue program, major oversight mechanisms were written into the legislation, including the creation of a new Inspector General and Congressional oversight panel.

Finally, we forced the Administration to add protections for homeowners into the bill that address the eye of the financial storm - the foreclosure crisis. Of course, this is only one part of a comprehensive solution needed to get our economy back on the right track. Congress stands ready to deliver a broad-based economic stimulus package to invest in Main Street, create new high-paying jobs, and keep the engine of our economy going.

Again, thank you for contacting me on this important issue. Please do not hesitate to contact me again if I can be of further assistance on this, or any other matter.

Sincerely,

Charles E. Schumer
United States Senator

Dancing at Ohm again

After reading (e:djkgunz,46758) I went dancing at Ohm last night with (e:terry), (e:jim) and (e:james). It was so crowded as last week but I still had a good time. I decided I like their dance floor a lot when its not crowded. I also realzied I need to start wearing ear plugs if I want to be able to hear for a couple more years. I tried wearing my gym sneakers to see if they were comfortable to dance in. They seemed okay but I missed my regular shoes which made moving my legs trickier than usual because it felt unnatural.

The first dj, who I think is the guy who wrote on here the other day was fun to dance to as was the second dj. Then the third dj was playing trance, which I generally like, especially when it is live like Dharma Lab or all the Goa parties I would go to back in Germany but this guy played what always felt like built up and never really hit it for me.

Maybe we didn't stay long enough but at 1:30 we left for Cathode which was packed like I never saw it before. I think it has to do with winter. If you took all the people that usually sit on the patio and put them inside it would always be that crowded. The lack of patio in the winter just about halves the size of the bar.

Saw a lot of people I haven't seen in a long time including (e:chris)

This is an almond fantasy.

Paul's Pomeganite Sauce

After expirementing with mint and frash raspberry sauce the last two weekends, I decided to try making pomegranite sauce. I like pomegranites and I like making sauces so I decied to try and combine the two together. I totally made this recipe up so I am not promising anything but I like it. I like just making recipes up now.

First cut up and pull the gems out of the pomegranite. Watch out it stains really bad.
image

It is amazing just how many gems you get from one pomegranite.
image

Next step is to mash them all up in a big bowl (to catch slashes). It should make a lot of juice and seed mash. Don't worry if there is still some juice in the seeds, you will get it in the next step.
image

Pour the juice and seed mash through a fine strainer or cheesecloth. The stariner hsould be fine as long as the mesh is small because the seeds themselves are quite large. Then use a tool to smash it more to get out the remaining juice. If you were using a cheese cloth you could just twist it.
image

Heat in a pan on low. Add a bunch of sugar and cook it down.
image

When its just about done it will bubble like this and get a bit thicker. If you want it thicker keep adding sugar, but be careful not to go overboard and keep stirring it constantly, nothing is grosr than burnt sugar.
image

I decided to toss in a couple cloves to complete the flavor. I think it would be good served on poultry or perhaps over ice cream or cake - maybe even with white fish.
