Wandering Around
Last night (e:theecarey) made pizza.
She even made gluten free pizza for (e:matthew)
I love watching dirty snow melt. It's hard to imagine how much dirt can be collected in snow.
Went to Kunis To Go on lexington for lunch with (e:enknot). I ordered lots of tasty food. Tony got the Bento box, I will let him tell you how yummy it was. Next time I am getting one.
They had those amazing sour candies I bought in San Francisco when visiting (e:twisted)
What is up with the design of this house on North Pear. Do you think it looked better before it was super sided.

50 Court Street and Kick Snow
Looks like a giant new building is going to be erected at 50 court street which is way better than that nasty parking lot there now. The website is not so great. In fact, none of the links work in the main navigation, if you click the development link.
Their mockup on the sign outside is confusing because they have the Pearl st sign in the wrong spot. It should go Franklin then Niagara, not pearl and then Niagara St. I bet someone got paid a lot to make that design and I bet that they spent a lot to print them. You think someone would have checked the street names. I hope someone scrutinizes the building plans better than the media.
Here is the same spot currently.
They are taking the paint off the brick building that used to be club heat, and then was like ten other bars named after metals which then became tantra or something. That place is destined to never succeed. Maybe the paint is what was causing it to fail. The guy doing it, is doing it brick by brick with a blow torch.
First some paint removal liquid is applied.
And then he hits it with the blow torch.
I got some of my weather agression out on this ice formation.
Hurray, a fourth of my backyard is now snow free!

Another Media Dump From Downtown
On the way home we had brought no money and had to walk. We couldn't even stop anywhere because we didn't even brings cards. It was strange to feel like I had nothing even if it was just during a 20 minute walk home to the mansion. I do not like the feeling of not having access to food money at all.
We jealously peaked in the window at spot and starred at all the mactoppers with yummy treats.
Today I made up for it by going with my work buddies and (e:megan) over to Chris' Deli at 395 Delaware Avenue. They were packed to the point we waited but it was totally worth it. I have never seen such tasty sandwiches.
I got the jerk turkey.
Everyone else had yummy stuff too.
When we got back jon had a blue screen of death on windows XP. It was so sad. I hate windows. In fact, I hate it so much that today I installed cygwin so I can have a bash shell on my windows box at work. No more stupid "dir" I was so sick of typing "ls" and having the computer say no.
Does anyone else have a secret love of kicking the crusty june snow? It is that part snow, part asphalt and cement chip stuff that never goes away until way late after winter is over. It is basically dirty snow that is combined with so many particles that it acts as a sort of adhesive between them. It is hard as rocks and when it breaks it cracks like glass sometimes. It is really fun to kick it.
This pole didn't like winter very much. Imagine if your skin peeled that much from weather exposure.

A Night In The City and House Capades
There was something crazy going on around chippewa. There were police everywhere blocking all of the streets. It wasn't even just chippewa.
This image shows all the police lights although you cannot really see anythign but the light but it is pretty.
They were blocking parts of Washington and franklin too. There was nothing about it on the news website today or in the paper.
The video shows more details.
Check out this sad empty dance floor at underground. Fo rme that place died when the moved the couches to near the outside door about 2 years ago.
Has anyone ever watched House Capades on FOX on sundays. They guarantee that if they show your house on the show they will sell it or buy it theseleves with 30 days. That is a pretty amazing offer. Anyhow, their web site is quite confusing and I have no idea how to browse more info about the houses they showed so I wrote to them. I hope it helps them out.
Rick,
I got your contact info from the contact information link on housecapades.com. I visited the housecapades website today after the airing of your show on Fox 29 in Buffalo. I found the navigation a bit confusing but what was more confusing was how to find information about the houses that I saw on the show.
When I click the Featured Homes Link I am presented with a form requiring my contact inforation and asking which house I am interested in. Unfortunately, the on air segent which gives information at the end of a house showing did not appear to present any sort of identification number that I recollected.
As a professional web design analyst and programmer, I believe this is a fatal flaw in the design of your site and probably turns away people who may otherwise be interested. It also prevents people who missed the on air show from being able to browse the houses at a more convenient time.
I would suggest at least a photo gallery /stats list recapping each of the houses that you have shown on the last on air segment and perhaps even a mapping utility to visually search through the listings. Both technologies are trivial to maintain as they can be fully automated.
Thank you for your time,
Paul Visco

Buffalo Sky Scraper
According to the news, the idea is to attract big businesses who have office in Toronto or New York to the lower operating costs in Buffalo.
Acording to the Buffalo News.
At 600 feet tall, the $361 million, ultra-contemporary glass and steel office, hotel and condo tower would eclipse the HSBC Center in height by 33 feet and would rank among the tallest buildings between New York City and Chicago... At $361 million, the mixed-use tower surpasses the price tag of all other downtown buildings. By comparison, the HSBC Center, built in 1972, sold last year for $85 million and currently is back on the market at $121 million.
Are they saying that HSBC doesn't own it's own tower? I had no idea. Maybe we should buy it, lol?

A Day Trip to the DMV and Marina
I had not been to this part of the Buffalo MArina in years. It was pleasantly well set up and seemed to be bumping with people. I don't know who the people are that want to live on the waterfront considering there are so many other nice, affordable places to liv ein the city. (e:lilho) says it is people with boats.
I ate a cheeseburger for my second lunch today. They had a clam bar but I didn't notice it until after I ate the chesseburger. In fact they wine and beer plus free outdoor wifi and sitting areas. It is a great attraction that I think a lot of people don't know about.
A sign about the robberies around Roswell
A picture of the yummiest ribs they had for lunch. Came with two potatoes and corn on the cob.
The other night I cooked Tuna after the gym but I had no lemons so I tried blackberries. They worked well, it was yummy.
Our first house has been painted, finally.

Friday Night
We went out to quote for the (e:ladycroft)'s friend's friend $1 drink night. It was nice to meet (e:sbruger). To bad (e:southernyankee) wasn't there. Now we are off to Allen St. Hardware.
After quote we went to Allen Street Hardware. (e:jesse) bought us lots of wine and then we bought sandiwches. Their grilled chesse sandwiches are good.
Afterwards, (e:matthew) went home because he hates dancing and we were going to go to the warehaus.
It wasn't open to the public. It was totally empty and they closed down.
Last night we went to Groove. I think that it was called groove because of the big sign on the side. (e:ladycroft) called it opium lounge
[inlink]ladycroft,80[/inlink] in her journal.
(e:jesse) got really annoying and started running away to different places downtown. We spent the whole night looking for him - turned out he ran out to Founding Father's. No more (e:jesse) when going out drinking. Maybe this is some sort of nordic defense mechanism as (e:terry) used to do it all the time.
When we finally got home (e:emilyjane) was there and (e:matthew) had found her. We all got in a giant fight with lots of screaming and doorslamming. I fell bad for emily, she probably thinks we are insane. Hope she has fun in New Mexico. Multiple attempts at taking the car away from the house which I was totally not cool with. Eventually, we all made up and went fish shopping.
