Old Malibu, new malibu; done

I can't believe they gave us $1000 trade in on the old Malibu. It has no dash lights, no heat, a rusting out falling off gastank and enough dings that I can't count them.

First we went to the Ford store. The focus felt crappy compared to our old Malibu. Then we were going to go see the Honda accords but I didn't want to risk the drive out to transit in our about to die heatless car so we went right to the Padlock Chevy dealer on deleware in Kenmore. My parents bought their cars there and suggested it.

Like 5 minutes after we got there we settled on a certified 2009 Malibu LS with 14,000 miles with perfect carfax and 4 year warranty. The inside was nice and roomy for 3 unlike the cobalt

I was determined to make it a one day shopping experience and I did it!

New Car Time

I need a new car. Our car is ten years old. We treated it like crap and its totally not taking it anymore. In fact I don't think we every washed the inside which at this point is like haunted house dusty.

When we bought it, it was the most expensive thing we had ever purchased. For like two weeks we treasured it and then we bumped it the first time. After that it was always like the red-headed stepchild car.

Unfortunately, this is the worst time of year to go car shopping. Especially, considering our vehicle drinks about 1 gallon of coolant per trip, even in this extreme cold.

I wish car shopping involved no haggling. It always makes me want to kill the other person when there is wheeling and dealing involved.

Mezza Restaurant

Mezza restaurant in the former Elmwood Soda shop location has some amazing food. I feel like this time it was even better than on previous visits. Their salads have the most delicious crunchy bits of pita and it is great for both carnivores and vegetarians.

I hope it breaks the curse on that location.

Roswell Recycling

So much for the recycling program. What we need is a recycling dumpster with the amount of cardboard this building outputs.

Hypothermia

At court the other day they had this 70s looking poster about hypothermia. I was surprised to see one of the ways to combat it was wearing proper night gear. You think that if your pajamas are your only source of defense you house is too cold and the pipes are gonna burst anyways.

Seabar Dinner

(E:Matthew) and I went to dinner at seabar last night. It was supposed to be a quite and quick dinner but we ended up being there while they were filming a Time Warner commercial.

The oysters we so good. At the
end of our meal they ended up giving is a free bottle of wine which was nice but I got kind of tipsy drinking a bottle of wine over sushi.

The search for viagra

I was doing some research for a court case I am an expert computer witness for. Part of that research involved searching for pharmaceutical advertisements on blogs within a specific domain. Anyhow, after searching viagra and other pharmaceuticals in like 216 million different ways I realized I was still logged into my work VPN on my computer at home. If anyone reviews those records they must think I have a serious need for viagra, lol.

Anyways, the court case in is two hours. The guy is is totally innocent based on my analysis of the records. Lets see how the justice system works it out. I am so curious.

The crazy part is that my work VPN did not block it at all but after a little bit of searching, google stopped working and made my confirm I was actually conducting the searches as they were not usual for my computer. I can't decide if that is awesome or scary. I mean normal in compared to what?

Flouride in the water

This controversy seems like it has been going on forever. I don't think they should add it to the eater but what I want to know is, what does (e:tinypliny) think? Here is a listvof 50 reasons why they should stop the prgram

Floruide is one of the reasons I went reverse osmosis with our water. Sure, it wastes a bunch of water to make our water clear but I think its worth it considering flouride, the industrial chemicals, living down stream from west valley, the hexavalient chromium issue, etc. I mean, I know I am paranoid south stuff like this but we all agree the great lakes water is pretty gross.

Tifft Nature Preserve

I hate winter but since the gym closed and my life seems so stressful I need to start some other form of physical fitness.

Seeing as the car is on its last leg we decided to stay close by and headed to Tifft Nature Preserve. Only in Buffalo do you head to a landfill/nature preserve for a day out I'm the county.

The best part was having little chickadees land on my hand. I felt bad that I had no food in my hand but they don't allow it. Clearly people do as they were all over me.

Crappy Weekend

It is getting to the point that I work as much on the weekend as during the week. This week I worked ~60 hours. The few minutes I am not working I don't get to spend having fun because I am too exhausted and/or nervous I will need to handle some work emergency.

Its like being a doctor on call with no other doctors around. I handle all of my own issues and then everyone comes to me for their own. I need an assistant so bad. I asked for one. Let's hope there is money for it in the budget in April. Honestly, if I don't get one - I give myself two more years and I am finding another job or having a heart attack.

A picture is worth a thousand words. This is how I feel.
