estrip 1.09 android app and estrip podcasts

Now you can post a sound recording with each blog by directly recording in the android app using the screen found by clicking on the microphone.

There is something in it for everyone. If you uppoad sounds recorded in mp3 format to your blog, estrip will automatically add them to your new estrip podcast. People can then subscribe to your podcast with their favorite podcast aggregator. It takes into account any sound blogs you posted in the past and will display up to 20. There is a link on your journal right under you avatar.

Buffalo Garden Walk 2010

We went with (e:Holly) and my mom to the garden walk. It was a great day as we started early and missed the rain.

This year we did the west side behind Kleinhans and near (e:metalpeter)'s. The community gardens were really inspirational. As was the massive amount of fruit and vegtable gardens.

One older woman had a giant fig tree. I think my mom was really jealous as it is her favorite fruit. We asked her about it and she said she overwintered by covering it in rugs.

road construction gas waste

The corner of North and Franklin is under construction. They are removing thr crazy sweeping death trap turns and replacing them with right angles.

I am generally happy with the whole process but they have 2 gas powered arrows on 24/7 for like a week now. I wonder if it will go on the whole summer. It seems expensive, wasteful, and environmentally damaging when reflective tape could do. They even have it on during the daylight hours.

And here, the reason we went, (e:heidi) and her masterpeices.

Here I am with the 3D glasses on. They had paintings that popped out with 3D glasses on.

They had some djs and video screens outside which was pretty fun as well.

Removing facebook from your nexus 1

Since I got my n1 I have wanted to remove the facebook, twitter and amazon mp3 app but as they are stock apps it would not let me. Its so annoying that they were running in the background and possibly using battery but it was even more annoying that when I selected a pic in the gallery app it would always have facebook and twitter in the share menu when I really wanted to just have estrip there. After rooting my phone which is really quite simple on a nexus 1 (you can find instructions by searching on google) you need to do this.

Make sure your phone is recognized with adb by typing adb devices

Then run the following code. It basically mounts the system drive and then you move the apps to a backup file where they are there if you later change your mind, but they will no longer run.

To be fair I totally stole these commands from here

and then added Twitter and amazon mp3 store to it

cyanogen mod 6

The most interesting part of this is that I am typing this journal from safari 5 windows edition using wine of Fedora 13 Linux.

Seems to make my phone much snappier, its hard to believe it could be any faster. I really just installed it and rooted it so I could get rid of facebook which you can't uninstall by default.

The battery on my n1 seems to last forever with the stock froyo. Lets hope it is the same here. They also included this new feature to make the screen monochrome red

which is supposed to by a way to double battery life. I am very curious if that works or not.

Blue Screen of Death

At this week's hearings, Transocean officials recited a litany of mechanical problems that plagued the rig, which was 43 days behind schedule in drilling the Macondo well, which rig workers referred to as the "well from hell."

Williams, who has filed a lawsuit against Transocean, said a computer system that monitored well drilling operations, known as the "A chair," was often offline due to technical issues.

"We called it the blue screen of death," Williams said. "It would turn blue and you would have no data coming through.

Someone went crazy with spraypaint on North st painting the words psycho city with some asterix. They painted on the new Kaleida building on main, plus the auto plus and the tapestry school.
