Application Segregation - In Browser IM

Does anyone really need their web browser to do more. I think it sounds like a big mess. I was reading the article

about how Mozilla is thinking about integrating IM/twitter etc with the browser and while I think it is neat to be able to surf togteher or whatever they are envisioning, what is the problem with having two apps running?

It seems there is this trend to start moving all sorts of other non-browser services into the browser. I keep reading all about the furure of the social browser and frankly I am not so into it.

To me it sounds like the old AOL paradigm with everything roled up into one package. Granted, they would surely integrate it better.

I actually prefer having separate apps in other arenas too. I am really getting kind of sick of huge scale applciations that try and do everything. A perfect example is the IDE eclipse. I love it, I use it everyday and for 90% of all programming tasks it does exactly what I need. However, the database management plugins are no where near as good as SQL Developer (oracle), Entereprise manage (MSSQL) or any of the mysql GUIs. Frankly, for mysql I just prefer the command line. But really I would rather have a separate app for the database management because a lot of times it hangs when using eclipse and then I risk damaging or losing all the code /projects I have open. I just hate having to wait while it thinks or suffer when it crashes. I would rather let the database management program think and switch back to eclipse to continue programming.

Same for my browser and IM.

Huge ass calamari

I missed the gym because of the rain storm;(

For dinner I decided to made broiled calamari. When I opened the package I couldn't believe how big they were. Look at it compared to my finger. Same brand as usual just supersized for some reason, yum.

My stomach is really sick today, damn crohns. I have a big presentation tomorrow about the direction I am taking things with my new job.

Oh and (e:lilho) arrives tomorrow, whoohoo!

I was trying to figure out how many days I need to take off for vegas 15-25th + 1 day recovery 26th. And I was worried because its like 8 days and I didn't know if I had that many, then I looked at my pay stub and I have like 23 days of vacation time. I guess I haven't gone on vacation in so long, holy crap. I can't wait to go back to the grand canyon.

Meat popsicles

I love rack of lamb more than anything in the world. It is so good
cooked with pearwood from our old tree in the smoker box.

I can't till the 1000 pears are ripe and I can make it with a fresh
pear glaze/ sauce. Yum!

Parking at Roswell

I am so glad I bought a house near work. Somehow Roswell lost its contract with the trico building parking lot and is moving the additional employee parking over to the HBSC arena at the very southern edge of downtown. That is like a half hour walk away. Seriously, I would never even consider that. I would drive somewhere along the subway route and subway in.

Supposedly, there is a shuttle that goes every 7 minutes, but who believes that. I have waited for shuttles way to many times to believe in that.

zoar valley

We went to Zoar Valley yesterday fpor the afternoon. It was nice but the water was way too low to raft, we forgot our water shoes and my allergies were insane because I had ran out of claritin. Other than that it was awesome.

Here is (e:Terry) at the confluence

People have build this giant rock tower on the far side of the island. This is the biggest one of these structure I have ever seen.

On the way home we got pulled over which was strange because we were not speeding. I wrote the following quote while it was happening in case we got dragged off to jail

We are being pulled over by the police near the jail in gowanda on the way home from Zoar Valley.

We couldn't figure out why they were tailing us. The police pulled up alongside us on the wrong side of the road and drove parallel to us for a bit before pulling us over.

Turns out we matched the described of someone they are hunting for.

We are free now!

After that we went to red lobster in the McKinley Mall. It was the first time I got to use the GPS on the iphone which is pretty greta. We were sucessfully able to travel 28 miles and go through 2 detours. Once i even saved us when were turned totally the wrong way.

That suburb byt he mall is bumping with businesses. It kind of makes amherst look old and lame. If I was to move to a suburb it would be on that side of downtown.

After a busy weekend of eating an exercise, I now weigh 155 without clothes for the first tim ever.

Dave Talks!

We went to go see edge at ECMC today and he talks. Despite being pretty smashed up he was in good spirits and was able to extol the wonders of delaudid.

Weird double booking at miss kittys

Somehow it was rave/leather night at miss kittys. It sounded like best
of rave 1997, LOL. Performed in assless chaps.

What is this about?

I decided to go to the gym to excercise and sauna and see if it would
get rid if my migraine, so far so good.

Saw (e:James) and made possible dancing plans depending on the headache.

On the way home I saw this pile if random stuff. Records, an army
canteen and shoes. What is it about?

P.S. (e:James) - that was the grocest banana I ever saw someone eat. You just swallowed it whole with total disregard fir the blackness of it, yuk, LOL.

Yummy, yum, pork

I love the grill and I love organic pork chops with home grown
rosemary. I wish I could use the grill in the winter too. Maybe I
should build a grill hut.
