The wedding shower turned out awesome. I can't believe how intricate the toilette paper dresses are. Its amazing.

There is lard in the crust?!

Two hours before the party, where we planned on serving 5 quiches, we realized we only had pie crusts with lard and the whole thing was supposed to be vegetarian. Having been vegan for a long time I know how that can be a big deal so I ran out to pricerite to grab the ingredients as there was no time to go anywhere else.

That store is great if you want economy sized boxes of processed junk food but it was very hard to find the raw ingredients I needed. The only flour they have is Goya brand in the small bag. It is not organized with baking goods as sections like that don't exist. Instead its just with all of the other Goya products.

Anyways, I had never made crusts before but thanks to the kitchenaid it worked out great and I have it memorized now.

1 crust is:
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
5 1/3 tbsp butter
4-5 tbsp water

The Flour and salt get mixed. Add the butter and mix till it looks like crumbs. Then slowly add the water. Make a ball and roll it out.

Honestly, home economy classes from middle school paid off because it worked out great.

They also sell Byrne Dairy milk at $1.99/gallon. And I got really good peaches there the other day. It's a far cry from a cornerstore type grocery establishment, but lacks the consistency of a Wegmans.

And you should be able to find everything you need to make a pie crust at Price Rite because I have been able to find everything needed for a pie crust.

They Claim it is so you look at everything in the store... But it is because to save money and pass it onto the customer (or at least that is the idea) They don't have shelves everything is on Skids and the lack of stuff makes the isles..... Again this is what is supposed to keep the cost down... If you bring stuff out a pallet at a time nothing should need to be stocked I assume..... I went on sat morning and the they where out of a lot of frozen stuff.... They often don't have the Variety but that is what Wegmans is for....

I really like the store for its produce, dairy and eggs - everyday staples that don't involve 11th hour pie-making. :)

Pre wedding shower preparation

These strawberry, sugar cookie, whip creamed puffs based on a similar dessert at Globe Market came out so good. I could eat every freakin' one.

Buffalo Citybration Balloon Ride Canceled

We headed down to the outer harbor for the Buffalo Citybration balloon ride but there was no balloon due inclement weather. It would gave been cool if they had some sort of announcement on their website or twitter feed or a sign because we were totally confused looking for the balloon.

Luckily I had my phone with me and they had a contact number. After that we headed over to the observation deck at city hall and ate a bunch of food.

I hate beer bottles

We had to clean out the back hall for the wedding shower this weekend. Returning these bottles seems like a lot of work considering that I probably had around ten beers this entire year. and in the end it was worth like $10. Next time I am just putting them out for the homeless people.

The New Tooth

Besides the weird nerve shooting pain from the drilling that has kind of lingered, the new tooth is amazing. It looks totally real and feels real in consistency and texture, unlike the old fake tooth. I honestly think you couldn't even tell.

Having teeth crunched out hurts

Today I got the crappy infected metal crown from Advantage Dentistry removed and replaced with a ceremac one that is designed by a computer and milled in a 3D printer while you wait. I know the one was infected not just because it hurt but because it smelled gross when it wads removed, disgusting.

I wish so bad that I could have been knocked out for tthe crunching smashing part. The noise will be in my nightmares forever. Its almost like a really intensified version of the sound you hear when you accidentally get sand in your mouth.

To my dissatisfaction I ended up with a whole lot of metal splinter shrapnel in my cheek from when they sawed across the metal filling. I did't notice it at first because of the novacaine. Then my cheek started to hurt and when I ran my tongue against it it cut my tongue. So I looked in the mirror, thinking wtf can this be and I see all this "glitter" embedded in my cheek. It is not easy to tweezers metal splinters out of the inside top of your cheek.

The fun continues next Monday with more fillings. They couldn't so the opposing ones today bbecause it was hard to be sure of my bite with the novacaine.

The tooth itself hurts so frickin bad right now I can't even concentrate. There are these awful random zinging pains. I hope this is not normal. I am taking tylenol PM now and calling it a day.

I wish I could take back all of the candy I ate as a child at this point.
