Painting 24 Linwood

(e:Matthew) snapped a pic of me painting with his iPhone. I really want
to finish this up but work has been non stop so I can never take any
time off despite having like 3,000,000 hours to burn at this point.

My PBS pledge gift

I can't wait to watch the video, it has a whole part about raising
backyard chickens.

Opera mini, apple iPhone upload disabled

Argh, the damn file upload in the browser is disabled, just like safari. Its totally ridiculous as every way less fancy phone i ever had with opera mini allowed you to click browse in a file upload box and send a picture.

What is going on with the mobile internet that file upload has been omitted?

It is half of how the web works. Download and upload. I blame greed because that way you need to download apps to upload. Otherwise people would just make web sites and there is no money for crapple in that.

This is exactly why I think its such total bullshit when Steve Jobs talks about the open web and slams flash. Is having to make an iphone app and then push it through the apple approval process any less proprietary.

Another side almost complete

24 Linwood has one more brown side. Well, minus the dormer, cornice,
and orange trim. Bye, bye 50 hours, hello brown. It's finally
starting to looking unified.

Organic drumsticks

These one from the coop were the best I ever had. Way better than
most and I am a chicken leg freak. They smelled so good it made me
wonder if the ones I usually buy are just kind of spoiled?

Windows errors

Just about every computer in the mobile classroom started up with
these errors. Why does windows XP always suck? Are the newer ones
better?

Is this acceptable in wrestling?

And why isn't the blue one making a much more terrified face?

Street Paint byebye

On the newly completely boulevard in front of UB south campus, the
paint is already almost all worn off. It makes me wonder if that new
kind of concrete street really works out. Do they have to repaint it
every year?

At Schuele Paint on Summer

I saw this flyer an it was interesting for two reasons.

1. I really can't understand why a presentation for something like
this would be at lazerton.

2. I realized that having a pile of flyers is becomming less and less
necessary since people have camera phones. I barely ever take paper
anything anymore.

Teaching myself inkscape

I spent years using illustrator but now that I am dead set on a FOSS path I decided to learn inkscape. I was following this nice wiki article on inkscape for illustrator users

The one thing that I really miss is the gradient mesh tool. Just about everything else is fine for me, but that one feature made illustrator so awesome. It looks like some people are working on it for inkscape so it may happen sometime but in the meantime, blah.

Tonight, I followed this guy's tutorial on building a rock with inkscape. I think the tools are pretty neat still, althoug it is hard to train you hands to do something other than what they are used to.
