Hello Motorola
I have decided that I am done with the piece of crap nokia 7710 forever. It had such potential. I know that I bought a phone not made in the USA but it is ridiculous that the camera stopped working [inlink]paul,3983[/inlink] only 3 months after i bought the $400 phone. I just want to get the camera fixed. I understand that it is not under warranty. I am willin got pay to have it fixed. What is more ridiculous is that they sent this totally insane email as my reponse to a repair request.
My favorite part about this email is the accented e in America at the closing.

White Russian Sarah
At that point (e:mike) had already given up and gone home. We decided that we would go out anyways. I really wanted to take a break from server admin crap and I thought danicng would provide suitable exercise.
Why they invented child locks
About 5 minutes into the trip down mainstreet citybound (e:lilho) says, "I need to puke." She unrolls the window and I thought she was just going to pull an (e:southernyankee) but instead she just opens the door and just kind of rolls out head first while the car was moving down mainstreet. Mind you she was not unconscious or anything. We were carrying on a conversation right before this.
Luckily we were turning into a parking lot but we were going about 10 miles per hour. Unfortunately, she did lose her purse and her ID in the incident. Well, at least she thinks so. Might put a crimp on her trip to NYC.
I have never had anyone do that. I yelled stop and tried to grab her but it was too late she just ejected like a pilot in a plane going down. Thank god she didn't get ran over. I mean it could have been a really traggic situation. I am going to refer to it as NTS, "Near Traggic Situation" (Visco, 2005).
Read the same story from (e:terry)'s perspective [inlink]terry,451[/inlink]
We never made it to see Darren Jay, by the time we got there are around 3:15am they were still charging $10, so we left.

Friday Night
In place of the superocmputer, which is moving to artvoice land, we are getting a fancy flat iMac. I usually hate macs but seeing as we already have PC and Linux and I will no longer be working in MAC land at Canisius, I will need some sort of Macintosh in order to do web site testing for those pesking mac users.
Well we headed down to compusa to check out the flat panel imac and it is pretty nice. We are going to be getting the one with the remote control. It makes a pretty fancy schamncy media center and had a built in camera. I like it because upkeep is easy on those machines and I already have like three other machines to take care of. I thought a lot about getting the mac mini because I already have some monitors and it was way cheaper. unfortunately, 32MB of video ram is just too lame for me.

Roswell Paperwork and Physical
I also went took the subway home. It takes about 20 minutes total, which is great. I can also eat on Allen Street. It's one block from work to the subway and a block and a half from the subway stop I live at back to the house. I suppose I will probably make that trip many thousands of times so it is nice that it is short.
The subway was packed but I was the only white person. I know it is different at 8:30am and 5PM when people are traveling to and from work. (e:terry) said it is nice because they actually have a working public transportation system through their neighborhood. I wish we had something like it on elmwood. Like the trolley that used to be there. Anyways, I looked so out of place that a bunch of black teenagers commented on the front of the car saying, "white people to the back of the bus." I have to admit I thought it was quite funny myself.

Japan and Harajuku
It is primarily known as a hangout for teens and contains the department store Laforet, which has many trend-leading brands for young people.
Harajuku became famous in the 1990s due to the large numbers of street performers and wildly dressed teens who gathered there on Sundays when Omotesando was closed to traffic. This area was called "Hoko-ten" or "pedestrian paradise". This was stopped at the end of the 90s and the number of performers, visual kei fans, rockabilly dancers and punks has steadily decreased since.

Mobile Empire
The name should be short so that it is easy to type on a phone and also very easy to remember. Any ideas? Maybe I should make this a contest.
You will be able to access every other mobile buffalo project, play games like (e:shawnr)'s hour 720 , chat, visit artvoice, visit estrip and post/read, visit remember buffalo, read the news, check the weather, meet up with other people, find library books, link to bus schedules, etc. Bascially your one stop shop to link to everything else.
You will also be able to customize your mobile homepage using the site's browser based interface so that you can save rss feeds etc to it and read them on the go.

Meeting with Artvoice
I also talked with Dave, the artvoice computer guy, about moving the estrip/rememberbuffalo server there. Next step is to set up the supercomp and bring it in. Then once it is up and running, I can add the primary doc section to rememberbuffalo.org. Soon, thereafter I can begin really promoting it.
I expect the site should be even faster once it is local and I have control over the server.

Multidimensional Day
Road Rage
After dropping (e:terry) off, I went to go try and park at Canisius and almost got out to beat someone up. I have never had road rage before but now I know what it is all about. I went to go park on Main Street because I don't have a parking pass. I found a spot around Delavan and Main Street near the entrance to Forest Lawn. It was raining pretty severely and I knew I had to get really wet but at least my backpack has a built in umbrella for the computer. I would take a pic if I had my phone - get well soon. So anyways, I go to parallel park by pulling up even with the car in front of the spot and some crazy woman tries to out park me by going in head first. I have never experience this before.
I got really angry but thought, ok, she clearly isn't going to make it. Then she zoomed out, got on the side of my car and tried to back in. During this hole ordeal I pressed the horn and gave her the finger. Something inside me was screaming just back up and slam her car or get out and beat the crap out of her but instead I just kept beeping. She stole the spot and I yelled some stuff at her. I had like two minutes to get to work. Then I went and parked somewhere else, luckily, there was a new spot much closer to the building.
Work
When I got to work I started to clean out my old stuff and organize papers for the move. I went to go bring some time cards from one of my assistants to my boss and my journal was up on his screen. That lead to a conversation about my feeling about the program. It was a good talk and I was honest about how I felt about the direction of the program. I hope my input means something. I still never got to address the new professor without the terminal degree issue but I see no point in arguing as it is all over.
Poetry Reading
Afterwards, I went to the poetry reading. I was the last person up at the reading so I needed something with a punch and something with programming. Unfortunately, I waited until on the way there to write it. Luckily, I work well under pressure and while driving as I am used to using the nokia while driving, although now I am driving without an inspection sticker. I will be getting one on Thursday but back to the point. So there I am, driving down main street, feeding a bacon burger into my face from Wendy's while programming on the vaio, oh and driving. Thank god no one died and the road rage from earlier had subsided.
Once I got to the reading they had wine and beer. I choose wine and (e:jesse) chose the French girl. I wanted to talk to either of them but instead I had another glass of wine. First off I read some epoetry from the site's epoetry engine which people generally like. Too bad (e:lilho) couldn't have been there because her face was projects at on the ten foot screen and she would have loved it.
Caught Masturbating
No I wasn't but I figured that would get your attention, haha.
After the estrip poetry I read the new thing I wrote in the car on the way from Wendy's. It takes answers from this survey about people's personal experiences being caught masturbating and extracts the I, He, She, My, They perspective in each survey for comparison. It was funny reading these poems at a podium in front of a full room. There are about 20 surveys so it take s a while to read them all. Number 1 is pretty good. People laughed and seemed to enjoy it.
(e:shawnr) also read from his pretty slick digi-novel PITP
