I hate Alumni Drives

I am so sick of getting donation requests from the school I paid so much money to and will probably pay money for the rest of my life. How come Terry never gets these calls. What on earth really makes them think I would give them a single cent? I hope that they go out of business after the drama they put me through trying to transfer my credits back Germany. I have no interest in ever giving them one cent. The only good thing about that experience was working with Bernd Conrad and Marilya Veteto.

At first they try and make it sound like they were just calling to see how I am doing. I thought it was a little fishy. Then they ask for $100. I say, "no." Then "how about $75?" It's like haggeling with homeless people on elmwood!! No.

Stop calling me NAU

I am going back to when I never answered the telephone.

Phonecall

So for the first time since our new phone system kicked in yesterday, I decided to pick up the phone. It was (e:holly) , and we ended up catching up quite a bit. To bad she missed (e:matthew) and (e:terrry) and the ski trip.

Morning after hushpuppies

Our one day old milk from the coop went bad and now I am forced to cook with soymilk. I hope they don't have an overpowering soy taste.

image

Thank you stlvia for giving us you delicious "queen of soule food" hush puppies. Even your slogan is great, "There's nothing quiet about flavor."

image

They were so freakin' spicy. I would call them firepuppies.

This has to be about e:jason

My future

I will be checking it out to see how it comes along, you should too.

I will find courage in this arena.

I will have that sharpening done.

I will answer your questions, although I am scratching my head when it comes to the tone.

I will help you to understand.

I will never change the political slant of the neighborhood.

I will show you what is in my book case.

I will repeat it - I am not here to discuss political issues.

I will be treated, on here and in the street if I voice my opinion on political issues.

I will save that opinion as well.

I will begin to hound you about this once work begins to die down.

I will be checking it out to see how it comes along, you should too.

What am I after all

I am not opposed to socialized medicine on principle.

I am just concerned with the government's competence at handling things.

I am utterly devastated.

I am just starting to get into it.

New poem from On Collecting

On Collecting

I have never had anyone send me roses.

I have a vague memory of typing this up, but I'm too lazy to check, soooo i'm just gonna drop it here.

I have a pretty good idea of what to look for in features , i am just unsure of what is out there.

I have absolutely no scientific training.

I have an art degree.

I have submitted my first blog about having trouble blogging.

Poetry Completed

What started out as some quick notes whie day-dreaming in electronics class[inlink]paul,2632[/inlink] turned into my next poetry project. It
takes "I have" statements and writes them into poems. The best part is that the poems are self-documenting. Everytime you visit and a poem is written, a date stamped html file is created to document that poem at the moment.

Here is an example poem:
On Collecting

I have no problems.

I have a broken arm, but I had those things coming.

I have yet to find that job.

I have supported financially.

I have joined the crazy world of online journals.

I have to admit it.

I have the same conflicts with socialism.

I have no one.

I have never seen the cartoon.

I have learned 80 brand spankin' new words in the past week.

I have realized that it's really important to be your own cheerleader.

I have done my best.

Another Job Turned Away

Another job offer came, it seems like the fifteen millionth this semester. I keep having to turn them down because of the whole Canisius Professor thing. It better work out. If I am not a full-time progfessor in the Fall, I am officially leaving Buffalo forever.

This time it was Second Life . Who would have thought? It seems like only yesterday I was teaching a class called temp:real about Linden Lab's Second Life. This job was for a online community admin and social networking person at Linden Labs.

The best part is they also asked if I could recommend someone and of course, I recomemended (e:twisted) , the best community admin I ever have worked with ever! And she lives right in San Francisco. What a perfect opportunity for her to realizie her career goals in online community.

On another note, Stephanie Rothenberg decided to use an estip node for her class. The more classes that use estrip node, the quicker I can realize my place in the academic software hall of fame.

I also pitched the site to a bunch of students. Maybe we will see some more new faces shortly!
