Morning after hushpuppies
Thank you stlvia for giving us you delicious "queen of soule food" hush puppies. Even your slogan is great, "There's nothing quiet about flavor."
They were so freakin' spicy. I would call them firepuppies.

This has to be about e:jason
I will be checking it out to see how it comes along, you should too.
I will find courage in this arena.
I will have that sharpening done.
I will answer your questions, although I am scratching my head when it comes to the tone.
I will help you to understand.
I will never change the political slant of the neighborhood.
I will show you what is in my book case.
I will repeat it - I am not here to discuss political issues.
I will be treated, on here and in the street if I voice my opinion on political issues.
I will save that opinion as well.
I will begin to hound you about this once work begins to die down.
I will be checking it out to see how it comes along, you should too.

What am I after all
I am not opposed to socialized medicine on principle.
I am just concerned with the government's competence at handling things.
I am utterly devastated.
I am just starting to get into it.

New poem from On Collecting
I have never had anyone send me roses.
I have a vague memory of typing this up, but I'm too lazy to check, soooo i'm just gonna drop it here.
I have a pretty good idea of what to look for in features , i am just unsure of what is out there.
I have absolutely no scientific training.
I have an art degree.
I have submitted my first blog about having trouble blogging.

Poetry Completed
takes "I have" statements and writes them into poems. The best part is that the poems are self-documenting. Everytime you visit and a poem is written, a date stamped html file is created to document that poem at the moment.
Here is an example poem:
On Collecting
I have no problems.
I have a broken arm, but I had those things coming.
I have yet to find that job.
I have supported financially.
I have joined the crazy world of online journals.
I have to admit it.
I have the same conflicts with socialism.
I have no one.
I have never seen the cartoon.
I have learned 80 brand spankin' new words in the past week.
I have realized that it's really important to be your own cheerleader.
I have done my best.

Another Job Turned Away
This time it was Second Life . Who would have thought? It seems like only yesterday I was teaching a class called temp:real about Linden Lab's Second Life. This job was for a online community admin and social networking person at Linden Labs.
The best part is they also asked if I could recommend someone and of course, I recomemended (e:twisted) , the best community admin I ever have worked with ever! And she lives right in San Francisco. What a perfect opportunity for her to realizie her career goals in online community.
On another note, Stephanie Rothenberg decided to use an estip node for her class. The more classes that use estrip node, the quicker I can realize my place in the academic software hall of fame.
I also pitched the site to a bunch of students. Maybe we will see some more new faces shortly!

This is why people hate modern art
For my electronics class I had to respond to a reading about early robotic art and telepresence art. One of the pieces involved two human being able to arm wrestle over a network using a robotic arm that they each wrestled independently and which sent data about angle, arm strength etc over the network to the othe player. Sometimes it did not work and it would report both people as winning. The really came up the lamest pseudo-inetellecttual theory for this.
Here is my response with an excerpt below.
I find it hard to believe that the issue of agency raised by telephonic Arm Wrestling, upon it technological failure, were but mere afterthoughts to fill the intellectual void surrounding the project. Especially this quote, "under certain circumstances, both sides could win simultaneously, fundamentally undermining the bipolar competitive model of win-lose . . . a telling commentary on the arms race and the opposition of capitalism and communism."
