Trader Joe's

(e:Joe) and I had to go run some errands on the blvd last night to return bead board to lowes and get some bikes repaired at Bert's.

I noticed Trader Joe's was open when (e:terry) and I went to Lowes to buy the bead board in the morning.

Joe has been talking it up non-stop so we decided to check it out. It was slam packed but they managed to expedite checkout to just a few minutes despite the shoulder to shoulder customer crowd.

I got so many great things for so cheap. Who would have thought I would be able to get such great products at such a cheap price. The bag of lagosttinos for $11 was an especially amazing deal even thought it wasn't cheap it would have easily been $25 elsewhere.

The new bathroom is coming along

At this point we are already about $5000 over a budget which I already thought was insane but it looks like its going to be beautiful. I can't imagine what it will really be like as a final product despite having brought all of the pieces in close proximity. We are still waiting on some tile.

We gave up on beadboard and decided to just do matching marble trim which is part of the cost hike.

I think it is time to let go of elmwoodstrip.org. We switched to estrip.org so long ago and it remains simply a redirect that serves no purpose but costs me $12/year. Does anyone see a problem with that. I got until December to decide.

The Gypsy Parlor on Grant Street

Last night we headed down to the Gypsy Parlor

on Grant Street. The atmosphere was pretty cool. I would have never expected this place over there. I guess I just barely leave Allentown so I don't know what's out there.

The food was great. I wish I snapped some pics of it. We had a lamb burger, poutine (which is fries covered in gravy and cheese curds), Burmese egg rolls, Pastilllos.

The bartendresses were hot and had great gypsy coin jingle skirts. They also had a large dancefloor and DJ.

The drink specials all sounded tasty and were reasonably priced but I stuck with wine as that is how I started the evening. They had a delicious malbec.

In the end I would definitely go back.

Barb and Cara's Wedding

Went to Barb and Cara's wedding with (e:terry) and (e:joe) on Saturday eveing. It was beautiful. Everyone was so happy and lovely couple just beamed joy. The food was also very delicious, I can't believe I forgot to take photos of the food.

New Glasses

Finally I got new glasses. My insurance covers glasses but only at select vendors most of which have some excuse as to why everything they sell doesn't actually qualify. They always have some scam where the off the street deal, despite being less than my coverage, is a better deal that anything they could offer me with my insurance. For once I actually got a good deal on glasses. However, I am going to hold off posting about being satisfied until I actually get the glasses.
