walking across the peace bridge sucks

The bridge is so not set up for pedestrians. It was so hard to find the entrance and the path was under construction and full of truck exhaust. Once we reached the other side we spent 20 minutes waiting for the boarder guard to even answer the door bell. All in all the walk home from Fort Erie to Buffalo took about and hour and a half.

Steve's Clam Bar On Elmwood

Went to Steve's Clam Bar over at Cecilia's on Elmwood. The Fanny Bay oysters were amazing but $26.00 /dozen which is kind of steep. That being said they were perfect and I didn't have to get cut shucking them.

We had those, the malpeque oysters, oysters rockefellar and 2 dozen steamer clams. It might have been the first time I got full on mollusks.

They have organic alcohol drinks nowwhich seems ridiculous but I am a sucker for that. I got a red snapper martini and (e:matthew) got a cucumber lemonade martini.

wholefoods rocks

There were so many delicious food options that it was overwhelming. I would trade the coop for wholefoods anyday. Too bad the closest one is in oakville. There were multiple premade foods with octopus.

Papa Jake's on Elmwood

We went to papa jake's on elmwood for (e:matthews)' mom's birthday. They had broiled scallops which looked good and I had clams and oysters which were also good.

Unfortunately, I also ordered a calamari Caesar salad. It was gross. Imagine a caesar salad with casa di pizza style calamari and a cup of grease poored over the top. I regret eating that.

This building is not Papa Jake's but a construction company next to it that has the worst exterior design I have ever seen. Its brick with rock and stuco.

Thursday in the Square

Last night it was the singer from Live. That band name did not sound familiar to me but I recognized some of the songs from the radio. I get confused between that band and Better Than Ezra.

The christians were out in full force. They brought so many children with them this time. Its hard to be mean to children but I think with time and practice I can hopefully get better at it.

Matthew and itunes

He just discoved the music visualizers. They look pretty cool on the TV. I have to admit I hadn't used one since the 90s.

The final tabulation

image
It makes sense for (e:terry) to switch to a lesser data plan.

image

If we hadn't gone camping I could have used a lot more data. My goal for next month is 4GB. I will not use wifi at all to see if I can do it.
image

Clearly, we are being ripped off with minutes. We barely use any and get charged for 550 each month.

Camping at Brushwood

What a crazy time we had this weekend at Brushwood Folklore Center

Half of these pictures are poorly colored because I had taken my phone out of auto made and put it in florescent light mode and then forgot to switch it back when I was outside.

Went with ten people, including (e:heidi), (e:enknot), (e:KeithT), (e:holly), (e:matthew), (e:terry)

Here are some general camp pics

(e:terry)'s mom called while he was at camp

(e:matthew) at the junk pile in the woods where he saw an indigo bunting

(e:matthew) and (e:enknot) chillin at camp

The roundhouse where the drumming was done

I am not one for religion and spirituality but I had a blast. They have this labyrinth pattern in a field with some sort of sacred dead tree in the middle. I think it is similar to the idea of a christmas tree which is also a pagan tradition.

In the middle I took some cool pics. It started out with (e:keitht) and I in the middle. We walked the whole thing carefully despite the fact that it was easy to just walk over with out long legs. We needed something to do at the moment and discovered that we were good at following the path, lol.

I told him to pose creepy, this is what I got.

By the end, everyone caught up to us.

The clouds were pretty in the center

One of the most amazing things was running back to camp at night and seeing (e:holly)'s sister had this lantern that you light the inside on fire and it flies up into the sky like hot air balloon. It rivaled the full moon in prettiness. It basically was something very much like this but quite large. Its hard to see because it was far away at the point I could figure out the camera.
