Where did all the chalkboards go?

I don't understand what happend to all the chalkboards. I love chalkboards and projectors with computers equally as much. Both are viable, excellent solutions for classroom instruction. However, the third alternative makes me sick. It is the white plastic chalkboard with markers. Who thought of that crap. It is so toxic and environmentally unfriendly. It must be very dangerous for children. Thos eof you that work with kids in a schooll, do they have them?

Today my electronics instructor was writing on the plastic board and I thought I was going to asphixiate in the small non-ventilated room. I wondered if anyone else felt that way but I didn't want to seem like a complainer. Anyways, why did everywhere switch? Chalk comes in multiple colors!!! It seems to be cheap to buy. It actually erased better. Did anyone ever notice how badly the plastic ones stain the white board?

So what is it that makes them so freakin' ubiquitous these days?

bluetooth mod for my basic stamp

I love my basic stamp and I have barely started using it yet. I am almost afraid because I think I will end up taking my entire electronics collection apart once I am comfortable with it.

I need the bluetooth module so I can get started on my million dollar idea. Somebody please buy this

for me for my birthday. I promise a great return on the money invested.

Great advertising idea

Pricegrabber started this program where it made anti-pop up logos that other sites can use on their sites. They all say "what is this" and link back to pricegrabber. How great is that for an advertsing gimmick disguised as genuine care. Of course people are going to click onthe what is this and end up back at pricegrabber!

I was looking at this laptop site

when I first noticed it. By the way their laptops seem like great deals. I first saw there ad in mobile computing.

Coding Can Be So Useful

Anyone who thinks that it is just for business or whatever is so wrong. I code little thigns to make my life easier and more fun all the time. I just managed to download about ~7000 pictures off my favorite site with a simple little PHP script.

Wegmans Shopping spree

We went to wegmans and bought so many groceries. It ended up costing $342.00 and they asked us if we needed carryout service. I don't think I ever bought enough groceries to get carry out service before. However, the dissapointing thing is that we only saved $7.00 with our wegmans card. That seems like not enough on a $342.00 order.

You may ask what did you get for $342.00. Well lots of bulk stuff. Like a 15 lb bag of rice, a gallon of oil , two half gallons of milk and the entire display for Palak Paneer. Sorry if anyone else wanted them. They were on sale $1.99 and I knew we would not go back for another month. It is the fastest tastiest thing that the earth has to offer in my opinion. I also bought enough echinacea for all of winter ($18.00), a big bag of shrimp. It just all added up.

Well it is still snowing really bad and so many things are cancelled. I am going to go eat my procuito.

Forrest Mimms

I was looking for an electronic copy of a book titled by Forrest M. Mimms Getting Started in Electronics that they used to sell at Radio Shack. Apparently, the guy got all creationist in the easily 90's and even though he was mega successful, Radio Shack dropped him. Just to think only ten years ago you could get fired for being an open creationist. Oh my how times have changed.

Anyways, that isn't the funny part. What is funny is that while searching for the book I found a link to a site that mentions the book and is called the best online buys or something. Look how this conversation degenerates.

It is the most outrageous online discussion gone bad example I have even seen.

I think we should start a web site called web sites gone wild. Like girl's gone wild but about community based web sites that get out of control.

I am walking and it's freezing

It is -11 degrees today and I am back at north campus. It gives me a sick feeling. Something about the center for the arts makes me feel like I am at the hospital.

I have to officially decide on my thesis today I guess. It's all part of the beaurocracy here. I need to get my form signed to take thesis supervision, but in order to do that I need to have defined my thesis.

I probably fucked everything up by not forming my committee early enough but I kept hoping faculty would come along who were more in my field and were socially acceptable to me. I just know their are some people I couldn't get along with because I don't like the way they work. That has inhibited me for so long.

I am so glad it's almost over, I may have to turn down another job offer today.
