Trained Killers of America

This article from Ajay's journal [inlink]ajay,57[/inlink].

I don't want the soldiers to be trained to better cope with killing. First of all, as we are not living in a time of draft, I have no respect for their "innocense" and hope they all suffer and die with the same enthusiasm that they kill others.

I will never believe any of that poor people with no better alternative then selling their souls to the big killers crap. Personally, I would rather have them turn to jesus, sell drugs, get an education, or join gangs and kill each other in their own country. I see no reason it should be condoned that they should allowed to kill people in other countries.

Do we really want our soldiers to have the type of psychological training where they can simply cope/ignore the downside of killing? Does everybody realize they are coming home at some point? What types of propagandist excuses would they have to learn in order to feel better about killing and have less psychological side-effects?

I hope they all come home and shoot up woman and children at shopping malls and restaurants. Then maybe the people of America would think differently before they sent our young, vulnerable, mental softies to war again.

Does anyone remember or did any of the soldiers read about how people treated the vietnam vets when they came home. Because, the same thing is going to happen and many of them were draftees not volunteers. This is not going to be like WWII. Many people will not respect them but see them as ignorant pawns of the government and many of them will not adjust very well. Especially, if our regime changes and the war is not constantly bolstered by the neverending bullshit that the regime feeds us to uphold its necessity.

Let's also not forget how many street and near-street people here in our own e-town are vietnam vets which seems to be an obvious sign of mal-adjustment.

When I was at my father's house a couple weeks back, he told me that one of his friends who ended up in vietnam is really fucked up still. One time on the fourth of july, he freaked out during the fireworks and sat outside with weapons in his driveway to "protect" his family. That is scary, I don't even want to deal with these killers when they come home and I especially don't want them to trained to cope better with killing.

What happens when they move next store to a middle eastern family? What about all the middle eastern run convenient store workers and owners? Can they ever feel safe when these people return home?

I think soldier killers that volunteered and were not drafted should have to register as trained killers (like sex offenders) so that we can better protect ourselves from them in our neighborhoods.

Crazy Dreams about terry's head

Last night, after watchign Rocky pass out on my chair, I had this really elaborate dream that terry got his head chopped off in some accident and that I carried it around with matthew. Eventually, it became some weird version of a baby. Or a mini terry that was just a head. It was seriously freaky.

At one point in the dream (e:robin) and I sat at some food stand and waited like an hour for deep fried pecan pies, which by the way in my dream were the best thing ever. It was crunchy, sweet, greasy and just realy freakin good.

The rest of the dream was too messed up to write about.

Waldfest in Marilla

I am attending the Giant German Fest with Rocky and (e:terry). Lot of traditional German fun and Bier. There were about 1000 people and everyone was really drunk.

We met a German teacher who seemed pretty cool and invited us to a dinner party in e-town. German festivals, especially Bavarian ones like this, seem to really be about drinking beer only. People were wasted like at no other.

On the way home Rocky decided to show me what Poggying was. It is some sort of stupid macho thing, where you put your foot on the pavement while driving at 50 mPh. Needless to say, it is stupid and his hat got sucked out for good and he almost died.

Unfortunately, we were accosted by some old dude because Rocky wore his hat during the American national anthem.

Afterwards, we stoppped at Rockies house and he had the cutest little pug dog ever.

Dickies Cell Phone Pants

Nothing is more satisfying than shopping with the sidekick and camera assessory. Everything I wanted to buy, I would simply take a picture of. I think my mother would greatly benefit from having one of these, because one of the main reasons people shop for crap things is to show them to other people when they get home.
Look what I found at Target. Dickies cell phone pants. It's weird to think that rugged pants like Dickies should have a pocket for something that seems so delicate. My favorite part it that it is advertised as an exclusive cell-phone pocket. What makes it exclusive?

Response to Lowercase

Hey Lowercase, I wrote a giant reponse to your question asking if everyone knows each other and at the end I added another inlink and found a bug in my owncode that deletes what yyou have written in an inlink box if you add a second inlink. Argh!
Anyhow, when I went back your entry appeared to be gone, I encourage you to repost itso other people get a chanceto answer the question.

There are basically several tangentially related groups that have come to know each other well through the site. Many people have been on the site since fall of 2003 so it's been a while.
I know most of the people now, although there are still some I have never met. I would like the site to include all walks of people but currently most people are ages 20-35. I am 27 as are a large group of other people. Mike jil, beast and their friends are in there 20s. Robin, terry, matthew, a many other are 23-25. There are some younger and older but they haven't written much. There are 100 people signed up but only 77 have written journals.

The reason that people are related in one way or another has to do with the fact that I have a zero dollar advertising budget. Originally, during the first year, it was all done through word of mouth. Then this spring a couple of us decided to do chalk adverising on sidewalks, jill sewed the banner on my house and I made flyers (total cost 50 dollars). We also started handing the flyers out at some bars.

I wrote to artvoice to ask them to do an article and they told me it would cost 500 dollars for a half page! Which I think I shitty of them considering we are a not for profit, local community group. It actually makes me really angry. I would love to have 300 people by fall and bring in a lot more unrelated people but I'm not sure what to do, any ideas?

I originally made the site to combat the isolation from local community that results from participation in many online communities. Once the code is finally all worked out, I would like to start other local sites usingit including a site specifically for senior citizens to meet.
I am also working on epeeps.net a social networking tool for finding out who is where, what's going on,reviews, etc. It is probably going to happen sometime this fall but I'm not sure. The programming behind all of this was done by me.

To help you andother people see who knows who, although I can say everyone seems to know everyone now, I added another row to show referral on the status page, accessed by clicking on the questionmark in your control panel. You can click on the column name at the top to sort by that category and it will giveyou an idea ofhow people found the site.

I hope this helps, and please go ahead and convince all your friends to join too! and ifyou have any ideas how to make this more usuable and comfortable for new people, feel free to express it on your journal or via email. If you ever want to meet up for coffee to discuss it, feel free to email me.
