Working On Cycles

I have been working a bunch on the cycles project coming to the Burchfield Penney. RPCI donated the old intranet server to the project. Here you can see it in its new home which is not really the environment it was used to. At one point someone was sweeping up the dust in the room.

The server is used to process weather data and create playlists for the server.

Canadaway

After half a lifetime I made it back to Canadaway for camping. I have no idea why I didn't come back sooner. The place is so pretty and leantos are awesome. For the longest time I couldn't find where it was until I rediscovered an old hiking book I had that marked it back in February of 2012 (e:paul,56022). Then we forgot to go back.

Hiking at the Gorge on 10/06

(e:terry), (e:joe) and myself hiking the Niagara gorge last weekend. We got a late start because we had a bunch of other stuff going on in the morning. By the time we got there we just had to go and (e:Terry) was wearing flip flops and I was wearing sandals which are not so good for hiking, however, we survived.

The weather was great and so were the views. I got a lot of good pics.

Shish Kabob Express on Hertel

The food was reasonably priced and yummy. I got this tasty baked fish on rice. It was citrus flavored. The place is vegan an vegetarian friendly as well. Both (e:terry) and (e:joe) had a falafel sandwich.

Galaxy Note 3

I got the Galaxy Note 3 last week. While it isn't anything that crazy different from the Note 2, the 1920 x1080 screen is great for reading small text. I also really like the texture of the back. Its like a faux stitched leather that makes it really easy to grip the phone. The camera is also really good. These photos obviously came from another phone.

7/11 Cheese Stick Ripoff - Where's The Cheese?

on the way out of town, (e:Joe) and I stopped at 7/11 for water to make soup on our camp out. We ended up trying the cheese sticks which I would have been good if there was cheese inside!

Trader Joe's

(e:Joe) and I had to go run some errands on the blvd last night to return bead board to lowes and get some bikes repaired at Bert's.

I noticed Trader Joe's was open when (e:terry) and I went to Lowes to buy the bead board in the morning.

Joe has been talking it up non-stop so we decided to check it out. It was slam packed but they managed to expedite checkout to just a few minutes despite the shoulder to shoulder customer crowd.

I got so many great things for so cheap. Who would have thought I would be able to get such great products at such a cheap price. The bag of lagosttinos for $11 was an especially amazing deal even thought it wasn't cheap it would have easily been $25 elsewhere.

The new bathroom is coming along

At this point we are already about $5000 over a budget which I already thought was insane but it looks like its going to be beautiful. I can't imagine what it will really be like as a final product despite having brought all of the pieces in close proximity. We are still waiting on some tile.

We gave up on beadboard and decided to just do matching marble trim which is part of the cost hike.
