Half Bushel Of Apples For $5 At The Clinton Bailey Farmers Market

If you don't you should just do all your produce shopping there. The prices are insane as is the selection. I even got fresh Lima beans which are amazing. I just cook em for like 15 minutes in simmering water.

The New H&M Look - Long Fit, Drop Crotch

I can't understand this style. It makes people look so mishapen. And the "long fit" hides the "drop crotch" anyways. (e:mike) said its my own inadequadecy that makes me not understand lol.

I say add a belt and make it a dress Ms. Christie style.

The Egyptian

So riding my bike down elmwood yesterday, I rode close to this guy who was about to cross the street. He yelled something like "Hey you there watch out with your flying carpet." I feel like he had on a light blue sweatshirt with an American flag on it but maybe I'm making that part up.

I yelled back what did you say. He said something to the effect of, "Learn to respect America or go back home to Egypt. "

Not sure how to even respond to that being a non-egyptian, non-middle eastern, Italian heritage but born in America -American citizen, I reached deep down into my inner mafia and just started yelling towards him at the top of my lungs, "I hope your fucking die, with both my middle fingers up." At that point from an outsider's perspective, I probably appeared as the insane one.

I know I should have been the bigger man and just rode on figuring its probably some crazy vet with PTSD - but I didn't - I am not much of someone to back down in a yelling or written argument.

I think we probably would have both killed each other if guns were involved - all over a case of mistaken identify which is really crazy.

I wish I could say its the first time I've been harrased for being middle eastern or Jewish. Neither of which I am.

This is what I was wearing. Levis blue jeans, wrangler brown cuorduroy cowboy shirt.

I know the coop price is by pound but it still seems insanely high.

Matress Factory

While in Pittsburgh we visited the Mattress Factory art museum. I really enjoyed the exhibits and the layout.

The Greer Lankton piece titles "Its about me, not you" was my favorite. It had such a intensely emotional and yet terrifying feel to it. It stuck me as so sad that the artist died at age 38. Being 38 it just seems so young.

The dolls in the piece were all so carefully constructed and reconstructed and arranged. It was as though she took her whole life before her death and summed it up in a room.

I wonder what my death room would look like if I made it now. A macbook and cell phone in an otherwise barren cube?

Pittsburgh Architecture

The building in Pittsburgh are so much more impressive than ours. It's amazing how much later that city developed and how much nicer it is. I guess they have the natural advtange of so much rock everywhere in the hills. Just about everything was brick or stone. And not just run of the mills square brick but complex, intricate patterns of brickwork.

I really think I could live there.

Chicha Limeña

On Friday night we had dinner at AJs Burger & Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken

I had the rotisserie chicken with rice and sweet potato fries which was amazing.

The prices seemed good and they had something for everyone in the family from traditional pervuvian to Mexican and American bar food like burgers and mozzarella sticks.

They also had this really interesting blue corn drink called chicha limeña. Definitely worth checking out if you are down there.

Flux Pavillion - AE Stage Pittsburgh

We went to see Flux Pavillion at the AE stage in Pittsburgh on Saturday. I thought that Wilkinson was playing which was the real reason I wanted to go. Sadly he couldn't make it to his American tour?

We stayed for a couple hours but I'm honestly just not a Flux Pavillion fan. The music just doesn't flow for me. Also, it was so weird going to a EDM concert instead of a rave. The DKs had sets then you just waited in between. I can't remember the last time I went to a EDM event where there were large periods of no music and lights on in between the sets. It was like a concert during intermission.

The visuals were nice at least.

Everyday Noodle

We ate at an amazing dim sum and noodle restaurant called Everyday Noodle in Pittsburgh last night.

I love dim sum and they make everything there fresh. The kitchen is viewable with a big glass window across the entire dining room. I
It's really interesting to watch the dough being made.

The dining room was so crowded we had to wait a half hour for a table in a line that went out the front door. While waiting can be annoying, I think is usually a good indicator about a restaurants quality.

The tofu skin with woodear mushroom was delicious.

The soup dumplings were also amazing. They are basically steamed dumplings full of soup. I had the crab and pork and plain pork ones. we also had veggie dumplings that were really good but they didn't have soup inside.

Get in your car now and drive there.
