Wormy Plum ew ew ew
So i have kept wanting to post but then not feeling like it by the time i got to the computer but this juts has to be posted. I WENT TO EAT A DELICIOUS PLUM yesterday and it was weird because I swear soon as i picked it up i just had a feeling of dread about it but i started to eat it anyway.......and as i am pleasantly chomping my way through i look down and there is like a hole near the pit and curled all up in there is a little white worm like creature! EWWWWW! I don't think i ate any of it because it was just little and in there, but maybe there were more and i ate them. End of that story is i am not just eating into fruit anymore i am thoroughly cutting and inspecting it alL!!!
Once I ate one of those oversized grapes and it had a grub like giant white plump bug inside. I bit the grape and the bug in half. When I realized, it was too late as I had already swallowed. Now I more carefully inspect grapes.

I was really thinking today how much I would like to own my own store. I would love it. I am not sure what kind of store, prolly knick knacks cuz that is what i know and love. Maybe a bar/knick knack store. Me and rachelle at work have talked about opening a bar called Drinks and Trinks where you get like trinkets with your purhcases, like you can buy a value meal of like a vodka cranberry and two shots and you get a free toy like a happy meal. I tihnk it could really work well, haha. Well i do really want to own a store though but the whole idea seems so daunting!
Do we still have our old "blueprints" from sophomore year??

Just be careful and learn you blue laws and Liquar the reason I say this is I think if you sell it you can't sell much else. The law might change though because Paterson wants stores to be able to sell wine. I think if that law changed then you might have to do something to change the law so that Liquer stores could compete with them. I guess their highest profit margin is on wine. I do have an idea for something you could sell. Some drink has a worm at the bottom of it, what about drinks with gummy worms in them or an alcohol store and a Candy store?

What if you put trinks at the bottom of the drinks!?! Oh wait, that would be a major choking hazard. Scratch that idea.

a very nice variation on the 'if you buy enough drinks you might get to sleep with the bartender' theme.
So I always had my dad's tax guy do my taxes too cuz he would just do it in addition to my dad's and so it seemed easier that way cuz then I didn't have to do anything. This year I decided I was going to do my own online, and was super nervous about it. I had planned on doing it with (e:terry) the irs workers supervision but then on sunday just decided to see if i could do it on my own. HOly heck, it is so easy, I mean of course I have really simple taxes since I make like no money, have no dependents, property etc. But still it was way easier than I imagined. I used taxslayer on the recommendation of someone at work and it was super easy and free for both federal and state taxes. This is also the first time I did the automatic deposit so I should have my refund in 10 days. I really like getting checks in the mail and so I didn't ever like doing it that way, but i really want my money now. Well hopefully I did it all right and will not be arrested for false tax claims or something> I am still kinda nervous that will happen.....wish me luck

I've used taxact.com to file my and several other people's taxes for the past six or so years. Super easy and way cheap! :::link::: has lists of free efiling sites. Some coordinate with NYS free file to make it entirely paperless & easy so look around. Most people can file for free. In taxact.com, if you want them to save your data year-to-year, there's a fee. In my opinion, for anyone with just W-2 income, you should be doing it yourself, even if you have a mortgage. Really, it's just a matter of seeing what forms you have and putting the numbers in the matching boxes. (It's asking for box 7. Look, right on the piece of paper there's box 7! type type type) The web software does all the rest for you.
H&R Block is a total rip off. Do NOT use their refund system in particular. You earned all that money, you should get your whole refund back, not give them 10% or whatever it is this year. With direct deposit, you'll have your refund in 8-16 days anyway, so just be slightly more patient! And everyone should check for Earned Income Tax Credit eligibility, especially people with dependent kids.

That makes me nervous. I get anxiety attacks filing my tax paperwork. Its got more and more complicated what with the institutions I am now affliated to and different "status" at both. Ugh.

So (e:maureen) was raving about the documentary Young at Heart about this community center senior citizen chorus in Boston where the average age is 80 years old and they sing rock songs. She loved the documentary and had seen them in person. She built it up so much that i thought for sure it oculd not be as good as she said but it was! AND BETTER! It seriuosly is so happy and sad and inspiring and entertaining. it is like everything a documentary could be. The scene in the jail is so heartwarming. It was voted the number one scene in a movie for 2008 by newsweek!!!seriously watch it!
I have to admit, I love old poeple in general so I am a little bias but i seriously do not believe anyone could not like this movie! My parents just watched it and loved it too! IT is so good!I recommend it to everyone. It is in th enew releases at blockbuster and i'm sure it is on netflix and everything too, it just came out this year!!! here is the trailer
I don't want to put any more clips cuz i want you to see the whole tihng, it is so much better as a whole!! i mean you can watch clips on youtube but the whole thing together is so much better and in context!

Have you ever considered volunteering at a nursing home? You would probably love it!!
Those of you who know me know my family has sorta a lot of family things over the holidays and then when you add in my holidays with various friends and (e:libertad) it ends up to be a lot of christmas celebrations! Well tomorrow is the official end of the season for me. Me and (e:mk) are going to the Eastern Hlils Mall like we do eveyrwhere to exchange gifts, eat some bad chinese food prolly and scope out sales and sauciness. It is really a great tradition, that mall is like the basis of ever5ything me and (e:mk) stand for. It is empty and 80's style and now it got a makeover but is still really not graet and i love that about it. YOu can always get good deals cuz stuff gets to clearance cuz noone shops there. All in all a great christmas season!!! p.s. thanks (e:matt) for letting me borrow your white chrimstas tree to make the perfect late christams for me and (e:libertad)!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.P.S. I learned in a n awesome book that (e:libertad) gave me that Lord Byron saved the pubic hair from each person he slept with in an envelope with their name and the ocllectio njust dissappered in like the last decade! good to know
So I bought this book on clearance at Borders a couple months ago ( i buy all books that i read for like $1 on clearance, so really i only read the best), anywho that's not the point. It is called Little Chapel on the River by Gwendolyn Bounds. The back says it is a story about a journalist in NYC who has to move after 9/11 when her apt building is damaged and accidentally ends up in a tiny hamlet called Garrison outside NYC and the book is the story of the people as told though the bartender of the local bar. Anyway it is pretty good but that is not the point either. In the entire description of the book nowhere does it say that the author/main character (it is a real story) is a LESBIAN! So even after reading the first section where it talks about the author's girlfriend i was like "wow i didn't realize Gwendolyn could be a boy's name" assuming it must be a man if they have a girlfriend and it does not say she is a lesbian. The reason I find this so remarkable is that I don't believe I have ever seen a book before that doesn't specifically say like "lesbian author in NYC" or "gay writer Joe Shmo", like always that is in the description. I thought it was pretty cool that it wasn't even mentioned on the book, like it just is part of her life but doesn't really necessarily need to be mentioned because it is not the focus of the book anymore than you would say "straight author in NYC". I don't know I found it cool that it didn't even mention it. It is so shcoking though that i actually was at first more convinced that Gwendolyn must be a man's name.

Oh man. I feel SO vindicated. When I was back home, I was writing all these emails to so many graduate administrative staff and faculty and I was NEVER really sure who was male and who was female. So I flipped coins when I was really unsure and Gwendolyn landed on a male spin. I am totally with you here! You never know!

I would not be happy if I wrote a book and was labeled as a gay author, unless of course I only wrote gay themed books.
Merry Christmas everyone! I love christmas as you all know. Had a good time at my auntstonight for our big christmas celebration. It was great cuz we have lots of little kids around now who love Santa and get so excited when he comes. They are at the perfect age for it, it is so cute!!!! I also am loving having a christmas/holiday season without (e:libertad) being a secret. It makes life so much easier and more enjoyable to not be like sneaking around and trying to sneak in a phone call on a holiday while noone is around or making up trips to the store so i can give him a quck call, and then having to pretend the gifts I got I bought for myself or are from someone else. Unfortunately (e:libertad) is in Florida for the holidays visiting his mom so we still don't get to spend thme together. We are gonna celebrate sometime after he gets back when we can hopefully finally get some time to ourselves and have a nice relaxing christmas celebration for just the two of us. I can't wait!
I want to post some pictures of my christmas tree and some of my favorite ornaments but I am tired now and think i will do that tomorrow! Gotta get to bed so santa can come!!! Merry christmas!!!

Merry Xmas Mike! I'm really glad that your parents know who I am now. Can't wait for my next dinner at their house on New Years Eve. I hope Santa brings you everything you want this year!
So as some of you know for the last few years I have been making christmas cards and they usually feature lots of glitter and fun. This year i have been putting it off and putting it off and i finally got around to it tonight. It is so funny cuz i have been thinking about them and all the stuff i need for weeks but have not bought it and so decided to run to Target tonight (and get my car stuck in the parking lot, luckily this nice man whose car was also stuck next to me helped push me out and thne i drove away to like a place farther off where i could park withnout my car gettin gstuck again and then went back to help him and he was like totally thought i was a big jerk who drove away and was glad i came back but then he didn't tihnk i would be storng enought to push his car ( which i prolly wasn't and so he had me drive it while he pushed (and he had not cleared any of the windows so i oculd not see a thing and just plowed in reverse not knwoing if there were cars behind me (whose to blame if i hit someone, me or him) but he needed more people to push with him cuz his was really stuck and then i almost ran tme all over whne i forgot to switch from reverse to drive)))) but luckily everyone survived and we both got out. Oh i forgot why i started this story so i went to target to get a oclor ribbon for our pritner cuz of course it ran out soon as i started doding chrimstas cards and we didn't have an extra one which is freakish cuz my mom is really a stock up kinda person ( like we have like 5 extra black ones but no color ones). Anywho so while there i panicked that iw ould have no glitter or markers or glue so i bought it all and none of it was on sale and then i got home and found i had really everything i needed besides the print cartridge so i wasted a lot of money and almost killed 4 people all for a oclor ribbon. But it was worth it cuz now i am working on my cards and i hope they are fabulous. I reduced the number of poeple i am sending them to so that 1) i finsih them in time and don't get overwhlemed and 2) the freakin blank cards i like to use went up like double in prcie, so i only bought one pack. Considering i Only get like 4 chrismtas cards a year from people, i don't feel bad only sending out like 20 homemade ones.
I have to work all day tomroow which sucks cuz i am not ready for chrimstas and am runinng out of time. Hopeuflly some of you won't have to work as i hear they have a travel stoppage in buffalo right now, as i work in a pharmacy and i live like one block away i never get to not go to work for weather. Even during october storm, i was there, we were like the only pharmacy with power in the area and i could get there so i was there, I would really love a day off, grr!
I was reading this interview with Meryll Streep and she was talking about her acting and what guides her is something she learned on the first day of drama class in college, i thought it was interesting both for like acting but even like for life, here it is summarized in what i remember about it. It was like the teacher asked "how do you play the role to show you are the king" and people said things like "use a strong deep voice, have great posture, use certain facial expressions" but the teacher said they are all wrong, the way to portray that you are king is for eveyrone else to stop what they are doing and go silent when you enter the room. THAT IS SO TRUE! That is totally in movies and tv and stuff how you know when someone important has entered, eveyrone else in the scene stops what they are doing and goes silent. To show your power everyone else really has to be complacent and stay out of your way and give in to it. That is so true in life too kinda. LIke poeple only have power because in a way other people have to let them and that is the only way you can gauge someones power is by how other people readct to them!

When people stop everything and stare at you, it could also mean that you are wearing bizzare clothes or maybe nothing at all or maybe have a huge lump of birdsh%t on your shirt.
It tells the story of a mythical king of India who was killed by a worm - that was actually the king of snakes in disguise. :)
