East Aurora Happenings

Me, (e:mk), jen and diana decided to go to East Aurora for the day yesterday. It was nice out and so we wanted to just walk around and shop and eat. It was nice. We went to Vidler's which I love. It is just chock full of crap and penny candy. And they have a popcorn machine where you get a bag of popcorn for like 10 cents. Literally 10 cents. It is awesome. I also bought some tasty penny candy and FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YEARS I FOUND CANDY CIGARETTES!!! I loved candy cigarettes when I was little but then they stopped having them anywhere but they had them there and they were so good. We went through like six packs yesterday, I am such a kid when I get candy, as in I have to eat it all right away. We also found if you light a candy cigareete, it smells good like a smore. Me and my friends are such classy 22/23 year olds that we were pretending to smoke fake cigarettes all night while we were out/at spot/ambrosia/walking. When will we stop being so cool!?!

I found some good finds while shopping. Besides the candy cigarettes and popcorn I also bought a video called Alice in Wonderland in Paris. I guess after she went to Wonderland, the next best place is Paris. It is about how after Wonderland she wanted to go to Paris. And she meets Francois a business mouse who is doing a cheese survey. And she will only tell him her favorite kind of cheese if he takes her to Paris. So he feeds her a magical cheese and then the fun ensues....how super random! I can't wait to watch it! I also bought a book at a used book store called 101 uses for a dead preppie. I just thought that was random too and it only cost 92 cents. Except you had to crawl under a table to look at the 92 cent books. None of my friends would but I have no shame and thank god I don't becuase I was able to find that great book.

Well I am loving this nice weather, even if it is rainy today at least it is warm...too cheers for spring!!!

Boomerangs and the such

No, not the kind of boomerangs those crazy aussies use but the new restaurant on Niagara Street sorta near the Peace Bridge. Me and (e:Mk) waited an hour last night to get a table. It was crazy though any place that has fish fries on a friday in lent in buffalo is always packed. I wouldn't have minded waiting except the guy who was seating definetely didn't like us for some reason. He definetely seated people who came in after us before us and was like totally ignoring us. The waiter was nice though and I tihnk totally noticed and offered to make us free drinks and stuff so that was nice even though we said we didn't want any. Anywho, once we got seated the food and service was good and so it it was good overall except the stupid host. His sheet where he wrote down peoples names was really crazy, their was no list-like quality about it , it was just names scribbled all over it everywhere. ANyway, so if you are going to go my recommendation is make reservations. Oh and be Italian. Everyone that worked and/or was eating there looked Italian, except Mary Kate, I tihnk that may be why we weren't seated fast. Cuz she is a craz yIrishmen.

After that we went to Friday's for dessert with Matt and (e:diana) and it was ok. I really don't like Friday's though except their tasty mints.

Then it was off to SoHo with (e:amanda) and jessica where they knew the bartender who gave us free drinks and shots which was nice. And VIP passes so you can cut in line and not pay cover. I have ended up at SoHo a lot lately and would never choose to go there proly but it has ended up fun.

Then I ended up going to pink and met up with (e:lilho) , (e:terry) and chris from california. The Pink and Soho have very different crowds and neither is really my scene or actually both are kinda I guess. I am not sure what my scene is. Anywho thats all for now.....

A Poet Among Us

So I found this little number in an anthology of poems and drawings circa 1989. The catch is it is by an (e:strip)per. Can any of you guess who it is or do any of you remember writing it?

Appreciation

Appropriate
Praise from
Person to person,
Raising one;s
Esteem.
Complimentary.
Indescribable feeling of
Acceptance
To be on of the gang.
It's a nice feeling
Of
Need.

Anyone know whose this is?

I LOVE PHOTOBOOTHS

I love the photo booth at Frizzy's. The sign now says it takes 7 minutes for a photo. I swear it used to say 2 but it always took like 7 anwyay but the new sign makes it seem much longer. Anywho, I love the photo booth and have quite the collection of photos from it over the years...so many good times. Here is one from Teres's going away party...hopefully more to come as I get control of them from my frineds (I like to be the holder of all pictures/memories)

Oscars Oscars Oscars

I LOVE THE OSCARS! It is probably my favorite day of the year. I love it so much that I started watching preshow at around 1130 am and watched almost straight through til now while I am still watching the post show on E!. It is my dream to one day go to the Oscars, wel lmor ethe after parties. Me and (e:jill) think we are just going to start a rival post party that will rival the Governor's Ball and start wooing the celebrities that way. We don't have much to offer, excpet maybe some Gordon Lightfoot cds and some tasty nacho chip creations. But hey there are plenty of c-list celebrities out ther ethta need to go somewhere. So anyway, waht are some of the tings I saw and learned in my 12 hour Oscarathon

1. I watched a behind the scenes look at a commerical that was going to air during the Oscars. It was an American Express one by M. Night Shaymalan. He talked about the only reason he did it was becuase it was something he oculd be behind and support. Um a credit card? Not exactly like a good cause....

2. Plenty of ways to use M&M's in an oscar party. It was weird cuz at first I was thinking wow does this party planner for the stars really use MM's in like everything and then I realized that M&M's were the official sponsor of this years telecast. That and JCPenney's...cuz nothing says glamour like JCPenney's.

3. I didn't realize there was so much controversy about Jon Stewart as host. So many people on the preshows were saying he is too edgy and liberal and that America wouldn't tune in...I am waiting to see the results...I personally thin khe did a good job for the most part

4. Reese Witherspoon...love her...hate her dress

5. I love montages probably more than any living person but um come one they had some rather ridiculous ones. Like honestly noone had any idea what they were even montaging. LIke they just were montaging old movies, then movies based on people, then like movies based on things...it was a little redic.

6. Joan Rivers was interviewing Gary Busey and it was relaly bad and afterwards like completeyl seriously she said something like "this show is crap just cut back to Melissa" ..i know she jokes about it bu tI tink she really felt that the show had gone down

7. I swear the interviewers get crazier every year.

MY PERSONAL FAVORITE: Isaac Mizrahi interviewing Ludacris on the red carpet and he says something to the extent of "those are some cute little beatiufl diamond earrings you have one" haha i think you had to see it to understand but it was seriously hilarious!

9. And what was up wiht the writer of Brokeback. Was she like drugged up and did you catch the shot of her drinking in her seat. She was ridiculous.

10. THANK GOD THEY LET THE REAL SINGERS SING THE SONGS THIS YEAR. I don't know if the rest of you remember but last year Beyonce sang three of the nominated osngs and Antonio Banderas sang one even though the real singers were in the audience. It was so stupid so I'm glad they went back to the real thing. AND WHOA DOlly is hott!

11. Ryan Seacrest, after probably the awkwardest interview ever with Naomi Watts gave her a free DVD of King Kong....which she starred in...so I"m sure she prolly already had a copy if she wanted one...what a loser he is.....

Ok thats all for now ...oh wait one mor ehing....who was th ehideously dressed respoter on ABC's preshow. She had an armband on and looked ridiculous. It made me physically sick. Or maybe it was the mass quantities of food me and (e:jill) ate because we thougth more people would be there but there were just four of us yet we ate like all the food anyway.....

Bye Bye e:Beast

So (e:beast) is leaving again. She is going to Alaska. I think she will be eternally traveling but she will always be back. ANyway, I will miss ya (e:beast). Who am I gonna find who will go up to a couple dry humping in the corner of SoHo and pretend to interview them wiht a fake microphone that is actually just your hand. Noone! You're one of a kind. See ya in a few month if we don't meet up in Hawaii first!@

Last nights going away party was fun. An odd assortment of people from teres's life. There was this creepy old man at Frizzy's who was hitting on Teres and would not stop staring at her. He sat on her chair with her and she said this is uncomfortable but he didn't get it and still asked her to go out and have a smoke with him. He would not leave her a lone even after me and Jill sent him scowering looks and showed him our big guns. People are weird. I think I will always love Frizzy's if for no other reason than the photo booth.

Mardi Gras/Lent/Weekend Festivities

SO last night me, (e:paul), (e:terry) and (e:matt) went out for Mardi Gras. Holy Heck did I get wasted. I don't remember any of it. Too many shots of Soco and too much of everything else. I honestloy aclled everyone I know I think while drunk, ok well a lot of innaprotpriateness I guess from the comments and calls I've got today. Hmm uh oh! Anywho, Today I get in my car to go get lunch and think hmm it feels like I had a parking ticket in this car. LIke I couldn't remember it but like that weird like I remember sitting in this chair and having a parking ticket. I search the car and find no ticket and decide it must have been a dream...but then tonight I found a ticket in my mirror, so I guess I did get one. Darnit!@

So after that crazyness today is Ash Wednesday and so I start my abstitence from french fries and potato chips. Anyone who knows me knows that french fries are about 50% of my diet. Whenever I give them up I end up eating more potato chips so I decided to give both up. I hope it sticks after Lent. That usually happens and that is how I have gotten over pop, gum and other addictions in years past. This will also help in my gym endeavor though right now I think I am the fattiest ever even though I have been going to the gym a lot.

So craziness of hangover, being at work at 830 am and not being able to eat my normal hangover diet of pizza logs and french fries with blue cheese (cuz also no meat today) and then going to the gym tonight makes me have a headache. And now in two days is Michelle my bestest coworker and now friend ever's last day at Eckerd and Teres leaves for Alaska on Monday. Ok this is gonna be an insanely emotional rest of the week../.

Art Shows and Car Love and Geek Meets

Saw many an (e:peep) at the art show at the Hotel Lenox last night. (e:robin)'s room was by far the most fun, what can be better than a room full of people in their pajamas and free booze. Not much is better than that if I do say so myself. I'm sure the fun onlyc ontinued and got better after I had to leave to meet up with a friend.

So last night I ended up wihtout a car becuase I went to the mall with (e:beast) and (e:mk) and then we went to spot where (e:pmt) picked me up to go to the art show. So then I had no car for the night. That freaks me out. I don't know why but i just like to know I have a car in the general area, otherwise I feel so trapped. LIke i Know i can always stay at (e:pmts) and stuff but I don't know I just like to have my car around. ANywho it always works out either if I end up walking home at 5am or much nicer this time my friend Dave drove me home after spending the night watching his photo slideshow of Cuba. It was really cool, it was a lto of just like candid shots of the poeple and stuff which like you never see. It wasn't touristy and liek scenic things but liek the real life of the people. It was cool cuz like who goes to Cuba.Anyways, I just always feel bad cuz like I live in Kenmore, not like it is sooo far but it isn't around here where eveyrone else lives. I feel bad he had to drive me home but thanks Dave! I think it is def time to get an apt soon! If only I could win the lottery...maybe if I played it I could win it!

Pilates Kicked My A**

So first at the gym tonight I learned how to use how the muscle building machines. I did all those to the point where my arms were about to fall off. Then I did some cardio with JIll. Once we were done and ready to leave we decided we wanted to try Pilates. But it was too late for a Pilates class at the downtown locatio nso we went over to the Bouleard location for Pilates. HOLY HECK! I was thinking Pilates is like YOGA! NO IT IS NOT!!! I thought i was gonna die. First off all i can't handle five pound weights with the exercises but that is what I tried to do. Secondly me and Jill laugh a lot and cause scenes. Of course at some point I dropped the ball that was supposed to be between my knees causing others to do the same as it bounced around and lots of laughing. The teacher also called me out on not following directions, such as letting my legs touch the ground. IF THEY DIDN"T TOUCH THE GROUND I WOULD HAVE DIED!! it was fun though, she said in a funny way not in a mean way. She also started luaghing at least once at whhat me and jill were saying to each other. I also was way too close to the guy next to me and we both couldn't really stretch out wihtout hitting each other. Next time I will know to set up further away....thatassumes there is a next time....that assumes I wake up in the morning and can walk and/or move my arms....that my friends is unlikely!
