Snoop Dogg

OH MY! It is the beginning of Jay Leno and they say Snopp Dogg is on and I think my dad says in all seriousness "Oh I like Snopp DOgg" and my mom replies "yeah, me too". AND THEY ARE SERIOUS I THINK! I didn't ask them about it because I want to believe it was true. Oh my looney tooney parents.

Golden Globes

I love awards shows, and preshows and today was Joan and Melissa's first red carpet coverage for the TV Guide channel as opposed to E and I missed it. I completely forgot earlier on and then I had a stupid meeting at work from 6-8 and so i missed it. How very, very sad. I do hate Starr Jones red carpet commentary though, she is terrible and E! defintely lost out to the TV Guide channel in this case I would assume. Anyway, I saw most of the awards but then went to see Kinsey and had to tape the rest so I'll see tomorrow what happened. To people who know me, they know it is crazy that i even left my house during an awards show but I decided, what the heck I want to go see a movie, but I kinda regret because I relaly do love award shows live!!! There's always the Oscars!!!

Starbucks and Wellwishers

So I went to Starbucks tonightt and had this thing that basically is a melted chocolate bar drink. I forget what it is called but it was really good but small but that is all you can really handle because it is so sweet and like drinking chocolate. I don't usually go to Starbucks and I still won't but that was good.

On another note, thanks for all the well wishes for my sickness, especially the calls from people far away to see how I am, those calls make me happy. You know who you are and I just want to say thanks for caring. It makes feeling sick for two weeks much more better.

Impossible Dreams

Sometimes I fear liking something too much that I can't have all the way. Hmm that doesn't really make sense. Like I can have something partially and enjoy but I know I can't have it completely in the way I want it so is it better to not have it at all so there is no like "oh i'm so close" and taunted by it or is it better to have the goodness but not the greatness. I don't know if that makes sense. Let me try and think of some examples. Well for example what if you really wanted a television because you loved television but you could only get one that had three channels and they were kinda blurry. Is it better to have those three channels but know that you are missing out on so much more and being tempted by it or is it better to get rid of the tv all together and find a better use of your time. Something like that if that makes sense. I'm not talking about tvs but the example works I think. I don't want to become too attached to something out of my reach be it slightly out of grasp or clearly across the country.

Dipping some doodle in the poodle

Oh those crazy room raiders. Last night at Jill's we watched Room Raiders where either three guys or three girls get their rooms searched by someone of the oppossite sex and then that person picks the person they want to go out on a date with by picking their favorite room. Needless to say good , funny times often ensue but they have never been as entertaining as they were last night...

The girl who the guy picked in her post show interview said in a completely serious like she was such a good giving person because of it type voice "I don't like to take things from people, so I'm definetely not taking his virginity"......maybe you had to see it to get the full effect but it was hilarious, we seriously laughed til we cried for like 20 minutes. Who says that?

On another episode, the person was picking their favorite thing about the one girls room and he said "my favorite thing was her birth control"....oh those crazy room raiders.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! Hopefully it is an amazing fanstasic superbly wonderful ultraoutstanding year!

Some omens I'm not yet sure how to interpret. First as some of you know I am obsessed with Fays (a drug chain in Buffalo that closed about 6 years ago when it was bought out for Eckerd which I work for). For some reason Fays represents my childhood and I love it and i really love their strong bright yellow bags which six years later still are found being carried by people all over western new york. Ok, not all the time, but I see them sometimes. That tells you something about the quality of those bags.
Anyway so last night walking from Pearl Street Brewery to the ball drop we saw a Fays bag stuck in a rialing and I was going to take it but I didn't because it looked klind of dirty. Then right after the ball dropped a Fays bag fell from the sky and landed like right next to us, and I thought wow that is like a little Fays angel saying hello. But then it blew away but then a few minutes later it was on the ground near us and Jill picked it up and gave it to me. So that was exciting and seemed like a sign of good things to come......andl then most of my friends announced they wanted to go home......this is at 12:15 on New Years Eve.....yes that sucks......why are my friends so unlike me? Not that I am a crazy party animal but I like to leave my hosue every once in a while.....but I went out with Jill and Jim for a while and it didn't end up being a total disaster...though being single and hanging out with a couple on New Years Eve doesn't sound like the funnest thing.....it was good... we tried to go to Nektar and everyone was in tuxedos and fancy dresses and me and Jill were wearing jeans so we quickly left......I hope almost being home at 12:15 on New Years Eve isn't the sign of things to come but instead the Fays bag is the sign of a great year.

Chad Michael Murray

So Matt Diana's boyfriend works at some sports memoribilia store at the Galleria. Some good looking couple has been coming in and spending tons of money lately and he thought wow who are these people with all this money. It turns out it was Chad Michael Murray and his fiance Sonja I believe. He is a past castmember on Dawsons' Creek and now stars on One Tree Hill and so does she. He also was in the Hilary Duff Cindarella movie. How jealous am I that Matt got to cashier for celebritites. WHy don't any pseudo celebrities come into Eckerd. Sure I get the occassional Don Paul or Don Postles but not even in the pharmacy part of the store and they are no WB stars for sure. Maybe some day...maybe

Oh That Disney

I'm reading Fast Food Nation right now and it is a good book and listen to these tidbits about disney. In the 1950's Wernher von Braun who cohosted and produced Disney television shows about space exploration had earlier been a major in the SS and an early member of the Nazi party. The factory where his rockets were built killed at least 20,000 slave laborers during WWII. And Heinz Haber the chief scientifc consultant to the Walt Disney Compnay perfored research by using concentration camp prisoners to test different risks faced by the German air force.

Von Braun and Haber cohosted "man In Sapce" for Walt Disney. So all the kids at home were learning about space from two mass murders. How very pleasant. Maybe Mickey Mouse was formerly a nazi too. I liked it better when I was in the dark about all this stuff. I just want to believe in the magic!
