Bathroom - Fixed
The tub looks great. I am so glad we bought it. Last night (e:joe) and I took a bath in and it was plenty of space for both of us 6+ footers. It was hard to get out of the hot water but the heated floor helps.
I am also really happy with the vanity despite it being the brown one instead of the black one I thought I ordered. The brown is dark enough though and matches the rubbed bronze hardware.
They fixed all the issues I had with the shower heads. There are so many options between the hand held, the rain showers, the standard showers and the jets. Its pretty amazing now like the ones we saw in the catalogs when we first decided to build a walk in multi-person shower.
Another gratuitous (e:lilho) homage

Bathroom Done
Hi Paul, Keith tells me everything is done and looking great! If you concur, would like to collect balance owed of $6,750.00. Thanks for your business!
My response:
I would have appreciated a final walk-through. I have never had any other work done where the contractor did not have a final walk-through. Maybe they would have caught some of these glaringly obvious issues. Or maybe thats why they didn't do one because the issues existed as demonstrated by the photos below.
For example, the supposed to be rain shower that is now just a leaky cap in my ceiling and the other showerheads are leaking from the bolt where they are connected to the arm on the shower wall. Did no one test them?
These are such obvious oversights that it terrifies me to think whatever less obvious things were overlooked.
Additionally:
1. The door trim is over the position of the light.
2. The window does not fit in the wall and sits above it almost an inch.
3. A piece of floor board in the adjoining bedroom is missing. It was there before they started. Do your guys know where the floor board is?
4. They scratched the crap out of my branch new $1600 dresser. Its frustrating because this happened when they put debris up there and then must have tried to clean it up yesterday by wiping rock debris on the wood. i
I am checking on the repair cost of these today or tomorrow.
I will gladly pay you once you rectify these issues or if you give me a written signed letter stating these issues will be rectified.
Paul

Tunneling Apple Remote Desktop through Linux Server via ssh
From your terminal on the mac you will be connecting from. I was missing this part before and therefore it was not working.
sudo defaults write com.apple.ScreenSharing skipLocalAddressCheck -boolean YES
From client mac connect to linux server and map your port 6900 to its 5900. Really you could use any ports you want just make sure that you use them in the next command too.
ssh -p 22 -L 6900:127.0.0.1:5900 user@linuxserver
From linux server connect to target mac that you want to view mapping its port 5900 to the mac port 5900. The first port is whatever the second port was above. The last 5900 needs to be that as the mac runs its dekstop screen sharing over port 5900.
ssh -L 5900:127.0.0.1:5900 user@targetmac
From there mac you want to view the other mac on, open the finder's menu and select go - connect to server.
enter address as your localhost and whatever port you chose as the first one in the first ssh command
vnc://127.0.0.1:6900
hit connect
login with the account for the targetmac
from view menu select the display you want to view. From there you should see and be able to control the target mac.

Shower Pan and Threshold Continued
The drop is even more obvious now with the threshold in place.
You can see how far the left side (right side of picture as its taken from inside the shower)
Here is the right side which is good an normal height like the other two corners.
Here is the fucked up one. Look at the difference in height.
Just look how much shit they had to shove in there to try and cover up the drop that will definitely cause water to pool there.
They tried to use a 1/2 caulk to make this work. Well caulk and some wood and a piece of cement board. It looks insane. Instead of having concrete on stone flush like the other side there is all this other material that will surely degrade at different rates and separate causing space for mold to get trapped etc.
The threshold even overhangs by 1/2 inch on both sides which is a major tripping hazard. This is especially frustrating because the guy specifically told me to buy 6inch wide threshold which was extra cost and now not only looks like shit but is a major tripping hazzard. I would have just bought 5inch if he had told me to.
Even the ceiling fan is crooked. Its like these people have never seen a right angle before.

Basra in the basement
Poor guy had to move into the basement for a while. With (e:xandra) in the orange room and (e:terry), (e:Joe) and I in the blue room. Both of the other rooms are off limits due to the bathroom construction.
The only remaining options were the red room in the attic or the basement. I tried the red room in the attic for a bit but its so full of tools and far away from kitchen, water, etc.
Having him in the same room as the water heater should also keep it warmer compared to the attic. My only concern is him making the laundry area smell bad.
We gave him a bath today so that's a good start at least. It took all three of us to get him clean as he hated being hosed down.
