Madonna's on Allen Take 2

(e:hodown) and I made it back to Madonna's. the food is such a good price and so delicious. We even got meals togo for the family at home. I can't get over the sausage or the shrimp and ceci bean dish so I got it again. (e:hodown) got the chicken parm. I plan to go back again next week.

Romanesco

I love this stuff. Its a cruciferous family vegetable that tastes similar to brocoli and cauliflower. It especially solid compared to either and slightly milder taste.

Madonna's on Allen - Take One

I love cafe 59, so I was thrilled when I heard the owners opened a new location in the space that used to be fiddle heads.

(e:terry) and I headed over there for dinner on wednesday. The food was reasonablely priced, delicious and well portioned. I can't decide what was better the sausage in red sauce or the shrimp with ceci beans in lemon and olive oil.

I think we are going to return there with (e:hodown) tonight.

samsung is amazing

Sasmsung touchscreen laptops and computers seem so awesome. Too bad they come with windows 8. I wonder how the touchscreen works in linux. I kind of wish I got this instead of the MacBook air. Well except for that despite the thinness its too heavy.

Windows 8 makes me crazy. I tried a file search. After it returned no matching files I got stuck. Esc wouldn't get me out. Swipe sideways wouldn't get me out, F4 wouldn't get me out. Ctrl W wouldn't get me out. Ctrl Q wouldn't get me 'out. Argh.

Niagara Falls With the Hos

We traveled down to the falls with the Hos to let zooey see the falls for the first time. She missed most of it because she wouldnt stop climbing on the rocks. Sounds like a future hiker.

The sunset at the falls was awesome in a nuke bomb kind of way.

The Galaxy Note 2 with Jellybean

I finally received my galaxy note 2 this weekend. It definately feels l I ke the future. The device is unbelieably fast. In fact it takes pictures instantaneously.

I seriously can't imagine having an iphone in comparison and its not like I don't have ios experience. I had 3 iphones and and ipad 3 with ios six.

The navigation voice on this thing is totally amazing. It actually sounds like a real person versus siri or the previous android navigation voice. It is literally the best TTS engine I have ever heard. Better than the AT&T naturally clear voices.

The only weird thing is the lack of a deducated search button and the fact that the home button is a physical button. Personally I prefer all capacitive buttons as the last physical home button I had on the iphone broke. I can't understand why they would remove the search button on a device that is so driven by search.

All around an excellent experience.

Night on the town

We went out downtown last night. First to see sharon von etten at the town ballroom and then out to the vault and later marcellas.

The city was strangely dead. There were so few people out that is was almost zombie, post apocolyse creepy. On the way home around 2:30 there was almost no one in the street besides us which is pretty rare for a friday. Maybe everyone is already in winter mode.

The drag show at marcellas was the worst one I ever saw. The energy was so low.

Sporty Bling Bear 2012

I totally am stealing this picture from (e:metalpeter,56870) but I wanted to have it so I can easily get to it for future reference. It was actually a lot work sewing all the fur onto the costume. Thanks again peter for taking pics of everyone.
