Issue With Fedora 15 Terminal Transparency in Gnome 3

It has been making me absolutely crazy that since I switched to Fedora 15, Gnome 3 I lost my terminal transparency due to a bug in Mutter which caused the drop shadow of windows to be opaque. The bug report was filed with redhat back on March 3rd

but the problem was with mutter not Fedora so they had to wait for a fix. On June 29th it was fixed in mutter and we have been waiting since then for the bug fix to make it into fedora.

I understand this kind of thing takes a while, but a status update would be nice. Finally, I decided to try the mutter/clutter version that comes with Fedora 16 (rawhide) and it works. I cannot wait for someone to back port this to Fedora 15.

If you need terminal/windows transparency in the meantime, you can update to the fedora 16 version using fedora 15.

sudo yum install fedora-release-rawhide
sudo yum update clutter mutter --enablerepo=rawhide update

Afterwards, I got perfectly normal transparency on windows with a drop shadow.

I kind of feel bad for him. The anti gays are really hating on him now for representing his district. I find it so ironic that the Christian right winger want to see a referendum on this. This isn't California. How is anyone imposing gay marriage in anyone else?

I still wish they hadn't approved gay marriage but had rather cancelled marriage altogether and left marriage as something non governmental that you can choose to do on your own or with your church.

It also is who can make medical decisions on your behalf when you aren't able to, who can collect social security survivor benefits (still can't, cause of DOMA), health insurance, tax benefits and also having the right to a divorce. Without marriage equality, same sex couples do not have the same legal process to split the things that were acquired during the course of the relationship should it come to and end. There is no amount of paperwork that you could fill out with a lawyer that would ever equal all that comes with the one simple marriage certificate. Marriage unites two people from different families (usually) into one.

The Only thing that I can think of is they took the English Version of Marriage and no one has had a strong enough case to call it unconstitutional.............

Reason I say claim is that for all we know maybe he thought that he would gain votes from whom ever he lost votes from... What is really crazy is there is a lawsuit over this.... I think part of the tie in is that people who voted to pass the bill got money and lots of it from gay rights groups the contention is that he was one of them.... I don't buy it.....

The Tea Party - Lockport Concert Series

Went to go see the teaparty in lockport on Friday. The band was ok but the singer lost his voice halfway through the show. It was one of those shows were all the fans seems to know all the words and sang along.

I was no so into the venue. It was so super crowded and the ticket line was like a half hour long and wound through the cloud while the concession lines themselves were short because no one had tickets.

The pinnacle moment if irritation was when some super tan bitch elbowed me because I did not let her and her multiple cans of beer through right away.

I hate girls that assume that I am some desperate straight guy and that they can do whatever they want because they look slutty. I did finally let her through but not before spitting in her hair. I hope she gets orange tongue to go with her fake tan.

Mac OS 10.7

The installation was a breeze. I put $29 into the app store on my computer and my computer updated itself. No disk, no settings, nothing. That part was pretty good. Especially considering (e:matthew) and I were arguing at one point and the computer got shut, went to sleep and woke back up in the middle of the install.

The one thing I really don't like is the scrolling. The way it works now, dragging the trackpad down scrolls up and dragging the trackpad up scroll down, like on an iphone. It seems to break the convention of everything other computer system. Maybe I will get used to it.

I really don't like it as much as gnome 3. For example launchpad sucks compared to the gnome 3's dash.

Overall it really doesn't seem like much is different. I don't expect anyone to have trouble switching between from 10.6 to 10.7.
