I love my new iPhone

I love my new iphone. Here I am, blowing it kisses like a new lover. I stayed up all night writing a program so I can picture blog from it via email in an effort to bring me closer to my 3000th blog post. If you have an iphone amnd want to try it, message me. I am also working on a blackberry version for (e:fing). Apparently, bith OSes don't let you upload files from the browser, lame.

I am so glad I didn't wait in the four hour line yesterday (e:paul,44928) . They had plenty of them this afternoon and the line was only 10 minutes. The tricky thing is that they have to remove all corporate discounts from your phone in order to activate it. Then you have to go to the AT&T store to rreapply the discounts to your account. I bet lots of people forget. How tricky is that. They say its a computer glitch, whatever.

Tasty crawdad's from hemsters

This is the highlight of the taste of buffalo for me each year, yum!

The calamari with cold marinari and caper auce was also quite delicious.

the early nerd gets the phone

I got to the apple store too late. They have enough phones but the At&t servers were down and so the line was estimating 4 hours. I do not wait for anything for 4 hours - accept maybe food during some future rationing. I mean I already have a 3 g capable gps mobile on AT&T what is waiting another bit for it to be an iPhone.

It's so stupid that the force instore activation. It makes me hate AT&T. I mean if they are going to demand it they should make sure they have the resoucres to handle it.

Plus they are so cheap that they will become commonplace making it exponentially less cool and less worthy of a four hour wait. - it's kind of like when Hello Kitty when they started selling it at target and you no longer had to travel to the ends of the earth to find the San rio store.

I still want one though, I am just not willing to wait. The craziest part Is that in that four hour long line it was exclusively men.

Plus they are so cheap now and si many people will have one, that it's not even something special

The rest of the day I will be working on the apartment.

It was totally disorganized too, one woman is going along the line taking information to give to the rep at the counter to expedite our orders, yet she gives it to the rep helping me after she already entered it all in making it a total waste of time. Then I find out they're out of the phones and just taking orders. I say screw this and run to the Galleria. Get in line at AT&T (didn't want to go to Apple because they can't honor my company discount and I heard they can't port but don't know if that part is true or not, plus I hate the Apple store.) and same thing...they're out of iPhones but taking orders for Monday. I drag myself to the Apple store, took one look at that ridiculous line and turn right back around. What the hell is worth waiting that long, seriously...it's a phone. Went back to AT&T upstairs and ordered it for Monday.

Now my problem with it is this...it cost $15 shipping to order it. And it's being delivered to the store. So if they have enough phones which they obviously do since they can be in the store by Monday, why don't they just send them to the friggin stores?? And why am I paying because you bastards ran out? That is complete bullshit, but very ingenious on their part to get more money.

I noticed it had cut, copy, paste, tether, flash, 3G and a gps, lol. I think i ma back to that phone at least for today. It shoudl liven up my journal a bit.

The new iphone firmware 2.0 with AIM

Finally, the iphone natively has AOL instant messenger app which by the way is free. This I imagine will make it a big seller for a lot of people.

You can get the new firmware here

but you will need itunes 7.7 to activate your phone. I got it using system update on my mac.

A day in the life of Paul

I had a very productive programming day at work. No one was there - it was like a ghost town - so I actually got stuff done.

Squiddy is really into climbing in the pear tree which is loaded with pears. I was really nervous something was wrong after we had no pears last year. Maybe it really is an every oher year thing.

At this parking lot on North and Main where Medina Deli used to be for a week before it shut down, they are putting these signs on people's windows. I figured they would crack down eventually as the lot was full each day. On the other hand, I think it looks way less abandoned with cars in it.

The last tenant and we will have a completely empty duplex with 2 - 3 bedroom apartments. I am ready to do some more remodeling and this will be the final chance to have no one before a new school year starts. It is kind of exciting to start over, especially since the last girl left always pays her rent late. The bathrrom really needed some work anyhow.

After the gym I ate some grass fed steak on the grill and some fried cauliflower. Grow muscles, grow.

I actually fried it all by myself, which if you know me and frying, is a miracle.

I'm trying to write a short description of us for that photo book but it's hard to be sexy, interesting, and endearing in a brief passage:

8 years ago Terry and I met Matthew through a chance encounter with a mutual friend. He stayed over and wore our clothes because I was allergic to his cats and ferrits. The next week he moved in and the three of started a beautiful friendship that lead to love. People are always most curious about how we handle jealousy or commodities. We share everything from our house, an historic church rectory that we bought in 2006, down to our bed and even our underwear - many of which our moms bought for us. We aren't jealous of each other's affection and we keep safe from the unsafe without having to play it safe. There is always someone's shoulder to cry on and an arbitrator for every angry moment. Our pet tortoise named Bazra completes our family. While we have heard of plenty of gay threesome, lol, we never met any other serious triads - yet we would suggest it to anyone.

I think that every relationship between people have certain dynamics and even though there are things that are the same no couple or triad is exactly the same. It really comes down to the peoples personalities. I would guess that a triad works best with 3 girls or 3 guys. I would assume that gender differences are likely to cause problems. For example if I was with two bi girls when I didn't have time to be with them, all I would think about was how they where getting it on where ever they where at first it would be hot, but quickly it wouldn't stay that way. I'm not saying it can't be done but I would assume it might make things tougher, but if no one gets jealous then it would fine. So congrats on being a triad you 3 seem so good at it, and good luck with the picture book.

Then fry it. The result is a delicious south Indian pakoda!! *Drool Drool*. I usually use cauliflower in rice pilaf (or pulao) or as a side dish (Sauteed in peanut oil seasoned with mustard seed, yellow split peas, white lentils (urad dal), ginger, green chillies (jalapenos), asafoetida and curry leaves). The north- Indian style cauliflower is sauteed in peanut oil with cumin and then garam masala is added! YUMMMMMM... Delicious. I am SO making this today evening!!

Matt's Sisters Birthday

We headed down to the Lake Chautauqua area for (e:matthew)'s sister's birthday party at (e:matthew)'s parents cabin. Happy Birthday Mary! For the first time I had AT&T coverage everywhere. Not just sort of service but like full bar connection. Even way out at the end of this country road.

On the way there we stopped at the Depew Wegman's to get some supplies and some food. The food was such a freakin' ripoff. It was like $23 for the three of us to eat cafeteria quality crap. I would never eat there again. The dining area was seriously sub par compared to the Wegman's on Amherst St. I had some cold turkey and Italian wedding soup. I think in the end there was more garbage than food.

Fourth Of July At the Harbor

We went to see the fireworks at the harbor front/ new canal area with (e:jim) and (e:james). (e:jim) got good pics of the fireworks with his phone I think. (e:matthew) tried taking some with mine. I can't believe none of us brought a real camera.

Here is a blurry pic of the crowd. I wish I had brought a real camera. I am going to regret this later when I look back at the iphone years.

It was interesting to see a part of downtown so populated with so many people. I heard multiple people taking about how they were amazed at the progress and to all the people who said they would never see a revitalized waterfront downtown - the time has come - at least for the Fourth of July. I actually heard one woman say she loved the fact that now she can take visitors downtown to see the waterfront and not be embarrassed. I have to question if she has ever been down there before though, because the Marina area itself has been pretty nice for a while.

Floating War Junk
I know I will get some slack for this but the floating war junk cemetery looks so ridiculous to me. Is it really an attraction. I mean I know it has always been there, but really put yourself in some other country visiting on the waterfront and imagine the impression you would have. Like imagine a trip to China and they had those warships on the riverfront. And if we are trying to give a mighty powerful image, then those are the wrong ships. They look ancient.

What I really did not understand was the really bad irish musi. THey played almost no American music andwhile I am not a big americana fan, serioulsy - isn't that what the fourth is about. I think they really need to reconsider the music next year - almost no one clapped.

metalpeter writes at 01:14:58 07/06/08 - Comment #36776: The reason the war ships look old is because they are from the last real war we fought in WWII (The Korean war doesn't count because it is the forgotten war and I don't even think I knew anything about it until I saw someone who had a hat from the ship they where on in that war). They are not junk and people can go on them, and I did when I was a kid. On a side note have you ever looked at an of the Memorials down there? There is a pretty interesting Irish one if you know where to find it, and the polish one is so Pretty it is solid black and the eagle is white and cut into it.

Music wise the only band I saw was Jackdaw and they are great, if it isn't what you like then I guess you don't like them. The thing with Jackdaw is they are pretty well known and a big name band. But if you don't know there music or there type of music it is kinda a whats going on here and even when they do a cover it is done in their way so it doesn't sound like the original. I think they where a pretty good choice.

I missed another chance to make amends and introduce (e:james) as the ruler of the land of the dead. The fireworks were very pretty but somewhat shorter than I expected. I saw that they had better and longer fireworks day before yesterday when BPO played at Dunn Tire Park (saw them from my window).

I think the war junk museum is pretty impressive. The warships bristling with surveillance devices and weaponry give off plenty of aggression! To a certain extent, all military museum around the world exist to serve the same purpose. I am not sure you need modern warships to make an impact on civilians who casually visit to gawk at all the arsenal majesty. But then, I am from India and we used to buy second-hand military equipment from Russia, back in the day. I think when we outgrew a certain age, our parents stopped taking us to military parades, shows and museum. I now wonder how they thought it was okay for us as kids but not as adolescents... Hmmm.. interesting.
