Turning to dust
The study, published online in the journal Science, predicted a permanent drought by 2050 throughout the Southwest - one of the fastest-growing regions in the nation.
The data tell "a story which is pretty darn scary and very strong," said Jonathan Overpeck, a climate researcher at the University of Arizona who was not involved in the study.
Fuck you southwest. Let's see how much everyone extols your virtues and copious opportunities when you are dried up and crunchy from lack of water. I am never going to agree to ship water down from the great lakes if that is what you are thinking.
The prospect of a drier Southwest is particularly troublesome because the region has some of the nation's fastest growing cities, including Las Vegas and Phoenix.
Richard Seager, also from Lamont-Doherty and a lead author of the paper, said the region will have to rethink how it uses water. Governments "need to plan for this right now, coming up with new, well-informed, and fair deals for allocation of declining water resources," he said.

The Biggest Pork Rinds2
While at the Washington Market. I saw these enormous pork rinds (WIKIPEDIA - Chicharrones). I have never seen such a freakin disgusting snack which just re-enforces my feelings that Mexican food is disgusting food. I mean I am alergic to Cilantro and Avacados to start out with and I hate beans. I know that everyone will hate me for that, but I really don't like it.
Like if you have seen tony's hands, that should give you an idea. Each individual piece was enough to wrap a football.
Look how disgusting they are.
Yummy

Has anyone tried foxy?
It was listed along side GHB, LSD, ecstacy, and crystal - I never ever heard of it. The article I was reading was about sindergarten, some sort of druggy school bus for elite high school students in NYC. You can read the whole article on radar It sounds insane.
Here is some more info about foxy on erowid and some medical info

The love that never shuts up
While sick today I was reading pop culture articles instead of programing for once and came across this article written by a lesbian about the bond between straight guys and lesbians Call me closed minded but I always kind of thought lesbians hated men. I guess I was wrong. She also mentions the lesbian shift from owning cats to owning dogs in the 90s. I never thought about that either. My favorite part of the article was her way of describing the hetero-female homo-male relationship as, "The love that never shuts up."
San Francisco recap
I still cannot believe (e:jacob) was there and we did not see each other.
(e:matthew) really likes escargot
I really like everything else
This fish was so fucked up. I guess they all flip like this as the grow up. Probably still tastes good with garlic butter.
Scared (e:matthew)
Here is some ice on Lake Erie as seen from the plane.

Strep Throat
I am so glad about being home in Buffalo. Big City life is really not for me. I think I would die of anxiety if I lived in San Francisco.

I Hate Delta Airlines
On the second flight, the seats going back function was broken which really sucks on an overnight flight. Although there was a movie we were not able to see the screen due to the way the cabin was configured. They didn't even bother giving us earphone ports for the sound.
But here is the kicker. I was annoyed when we arrived in Atlanta at 5am for our 9:20am flight to buffalo. But what made that totally unacceptable is that there is a 7am flight to Buffalo. Why would they have not put us on that flight when I requested a ticket from San Francisco online. It just doesn't make sense. So I asked the stupid fuck behind the counter if we could switch and he said no.

More Pics of San Francisco
How did graffitti get in the electric or phone box or whatever this is.
Here is the city view from twin peaks.
This is where (e:twisted) often visits estrip.
This flower in the park smelled so sweet. I want to know what it is.
A pretty twisted branch.
Another pic of flowers at golden gate park. The viewfinder in my camera makes purple look blue so I thought it was not taking pictures of purple/pink things properly but it is. Just that they show up blue in the viewfinder.
(e:matthew) taking pictures
This pine cone was so large and heavy. It is hard to tell in the pic.
This tree trunk over water was almost the death of me. I ran across it and then got scared and sat down as it was high up over water. Then I had to shimmy the rest of the way.
When we got to the beach we ate yummy food.
A cubby hole in the woods. I thought (e:terry) would like it.
Next to Buena Vista Park is this house that resembles ours accept for theirs is smaller but has a grander entrance.

Touring Around San Francisco
Okay, this one was before the trip. I finally cut off my hair. I feel free. There was a video of the process but unlike the old days of the smaller audience I think it is no longer appropriate.
there was this magazine on the plane with furniture in Nice, France that make syour whole house into a rock garden. I want it so bad.
(e:matthew) really did not like flying. The two hours of severe turbulence didn't help. I was liek the plane was going to rip apart. My neck hurt from the stress of thinking I was gonna die plus the jarring motion of it whipping around. We didn't even have service or sound for like 2 hours.
People bring their dogs and cats on planes in their backpacks nowadays. As an alergy sufferere this makes me mad.
I thought Dave Doyle would like this. I know he likes messed up signs.
This one too.
On Saturday (e:hodown) arrived
Here is the goldengate bridge
These boat houses cost more than double the cost of the mansion.
Alcatraz from telegraph hill.
Yummy Seafood
Lots of no dumping signs with junk in the grates.
At the conference today I was scared that an earthquake would crash down the part I was in.
A delorian maybe?
I love Aroma Tea Shop at 302 6th avenue
(e:hodown) already opened up a restaurant here.
Lombard street is twisty
Do you think the workers really get the $1 surcharge per plate? No where else had one.
From North of the bridge
This is the Palace of Fine Arts. I felt at home being a master of fine arts.
(e:twisted) had lots of yummy snacks for us.

It's nice to find out most of the choices (e:enknot) and I have made are also backed by other industry professionals.
The food was tasty. I even got my own personal size chocolate cake. Somehow a pigeon got into the conference. I fed it some cookies.
These dolls are so damn freaky.

We should give air to the people who settle in undersea villages.
We should give our brains to zombies.
Good, glad that place will dry out. I mean, it is a fucking desert. People aren't supposed to live in a desert. That is why it is a desert and not, let's just say, a temperate forest zone with ample water for cities.
I'd sell water to them - but I would make it extraordinarily expensive. I'm talking megabucks. You don't want to die of thirst? Then you will pay.
Or, what they could do is solve the problem on their own through investing their own money in technology. Doubt that will happen.
Or, they could do what countless other groups of people who deal with natural tragedies do - get the hell out and settle somewhere else.
I don't particularly care about LV, or Phoenix, or any of those places. I really don't. Especially LV, full of degenerates and whose history is as shady as any city's history. If they were forced to scatter it wouldn't break my heart. Life's tough, wear a helmet!
