Day Time Meets Night

It's light out till about 11pm. During the twilight time it's dark out everywhere because there is no direct sun but the sky still stays light. Then the sun comes up some time around 4am.

I haven't seen this monument in daylight but its a massive lion in a cemetery and looks cool at night against the lit up sky.

Vegetarian Meat At Reformhaus Flensburg

There must have been 50 sorts of vegetarian meat at the health food store. Even things like immitation liverwurst and kielbasa. That and lots of vegan cheeses. Where were all these things when I was vegan.

Vegetarian Food In Flensburg

It's amazing the amount of vegetarian options they have here.

At this restaurant called Cafe Central that we went to last night in Flensburg - (e:terry) at a soja schnitzel mit zigeunersoßa (soy schnitzel with gypsy sauce) which looked and had a very similar consistency to a real schnitzel. (e:joe) had a chilli burger and I had a carrot and mustard burger with pickles. Both came with salad. This wasn't even a vegetarian restaurant, just one with veggie options which is pretty amazing.

Apartment In Flensburg

We arrived at our apartment in Flensburg. It's amazing. (e:joe) did a great job finding it. We are paying about $90 a day for a huge apartment in an amazing building. The picture is the building across from us out the dining room window but they are similar.

It has a dining room, living room, kitchen and two bedrooms.

Essentially, it's better than a hotel and cheaper.

Hamburg Layover

We were only in Hamburg for an hour waiting for our train to Hamburg. There was an overwhelming amount of stuff to see around the train station so we ran around real fast. I wish we had more time.

I can't believe how cheap the train ride was from Hamburg to Flensburg. If I lived here again I would go there all the time. It seriously only cost $40 altogether for all three of us to ride the train for 1.5 hours. Imagine if there was a $12 train from Buffalo to Toronto.

In Zürich

The Zürich airport was the fanciest I have been in. They had the most amazing stuff. It's like being in only the fancy part of the fanciest mall.

We just ate our snacks that we won in Toronto as we waited for the next plane after the first plane was delayed.

Toronto Airport

Om Wednesday we started our trip in Toronto, Canada. It was a flight to Zürich, Switzerland. The airport there has lots of great food choices. I had an Asian chopped salad with chicken skewers. (e:joe) and (e:terry) ate at an Indian restaurant.

Afterwards we played these casino games on iPads they had at the table. The weird part is you out in no money but you could win a lot of real world prizes that they delivered to your table.

I am not sure if we were just waiting a long time or what but we won so much shit. We also entered into a lot of contests for winning gift cards later so we will see.

Everytime you crashed out they would ask you a math question and then deliver the winnings to your table. It's unreal how much stuff we won, the picture isn't even all of it.

Buffalo Naked Bike Ride 2016 - July 9, 2016

Its that time again for the World Naked Bike Ride and our Buffalo Naked Bike Ride is 7/9/2016. This year its a little later on July 9th, so it should be a bit warmer. More information at the event facebook page

I screwed up the original flyer so if you see a 6/9/2016 ignore it, its 7/9/2016.

If anyone else wants to pose for a flyer, shoot me a message.

Bike Ride To The Waterfront

We biked down to the inner harbour to see the festival. It was so packed so we went out to the outer harbor for the blow up castle event. It was smaller than I thought and I was having a ton of allergies so I didn't want to go in, although it might have been really cool inside.

They now have a beer standard Wilkinson point. It's so much more commercial than when we got married. I almost don't even think you could do it now with the number of people and stuff down there.

I am more allergic to grass everywhere this year. Its literally debilitating because unlike cats you can't go away, it everywhere. When I get back from Germany I am starting grass allergy and dog/dog shots. They say it takes 3-5 years for it to work but I might die otherwise.

On the way home we saw a woman beating her ~10 year old child in plain daylight. Not just slapping, like full on closed fist sucker punch, bashing his face, dragging him by his hair in etc.

Some other families tried to step in. I called 911 but despite what you read about them being able to locate you, they could not find me, even though I was describing where I was. She kept just saying we can't help you if you can't tell me the name of the street you on.

I kept explaining under the skyway where it interests the new ice skating canal. Apparently, that was not explanatory enough for 911 that also must not have Google maps or some other mapping program at their disposal.

(e:joe) was able to get some police by bike. The mother got handcuffed and she just kept screaming at the kid, "look what you did now.". The kids looked so freaked out. I felt so terrible for the kids because they seemed terrified at what happens next.

Interestingly the lady had no shame about it and couldn't believe other people were getting invovled. She kept saying, "It's my kid I can hit him if I want to." Thank god for this giant dude who just stepped in between them. The lady called his wife a bitch and he just hulked in fronk of her till the police came. Had it been me she would have just beat the shit out of me.

The last time I saw someone hit their kid that crazy was in Morocco like 20 years ago. It's sad that it happens here so openly in 2016.

Camping In East Otto

Went camping for the weekend with Jeremy in East Otto at a camp we hadn't been to before. I was so exhausted from the week and allergies that I slept a lot but the place was awesome. I wouldn't totally go back.

We had a pretty remote site next to a creek complete with fire flies.
