Another Death Defying St Patricks Day

I thought with the new solar panels we wouldn't have to go on the roof anymore, especially considering you climb a broken wooden, three legged ladder through the Attic go get up there.

I was wrong, instead everyone wanted to see the solar panels and (e:terry) and Jeremy had to one up each other on who was less attached to be grounded on the roof.

Considering we were out dancing with (e:uchina) till 5am the night before, the day was parade and ensuing party was pretty successful.

Samsung Gear S2

Smart watch number two. I used to have the Samsung gear live which I know gave to Joe. It ran Android wear which was actually pretty nice considering its integration with Google.

I switched to the gear s2 because the watch looks nicer and because I was interested in a watch with its own data connection.

T-Mobile has a nice deal where you can get a phone number and data plan for your watch for $5/month with no contract. That's only $60/year and it makes it so that your watch is not useless without your phone.

Calling from the watch is pretty great. The sound is very clear. It feels space agey go dial and talk to your watch. I still wish it had a camera of its own. You can use it to control your phones camera but that's still not as awesome as if it had its own camera. If it did I would be more likely to leave the phone behind.

I miss the better hangouts integration that the Google branded watch had but it still works pretty good. you can also use it with Samsung milk music which has a pretty great app.

The build in GPA should be good for directions and when biking.

Did I need it? No. Was it worth the $200 I got it for used. Yes.

The Porch Is Back

It's nice to be outside again even if it's not really warm yet. It's also nice to have a garage with a roof where our porch furniture did not get ruined over the winter.

Oops Chimney

My parents chimney fell over. I'm glad it wasn't me helping my dad because he would have never believed it wasn't my fault.

Botanical Gardens With Zooey and Jess

When (e:hodown) was in town the week before last we took Zooey to the botanical gardens. Its so nice when it's sunny in there and it's cold outside. Zooey pulled her teeth out for the tooth fairy money. I hear it's $5 now.

Happy Birthday Mom

Last night we went out to dinner for my mom's birthday at Coco. The food was amazing. I love that restaurant. She got a pot of mussels which is her favorite. They had us seated at a great table. It was perfect.

We got her a second hand set of her same favorite dishes from the previous century so that she could use them as both her good dishes and everyday wear.

On the other hand, the cute cake from the Lexington Coop was stale. I bought it yesterday afternoon for $15.99. I was so disappointed in the consistency of the dry sponge. Even my father, who is not very particular said, "where did you get this stale cake?" on his first bite. Totally disappointed and probably would never buy a cake there again.

This leads me to the issue of where do you buy small fancy cakes besides wegmans? We used to always buy them at Dolci but it seems they don't have retail store anymore.
