Kaydara for Dinner

After we went to Buffalo Proper for drinks last night with (e:yestthatcasey) we headed on over to Kaydara to meet (e:Robert) and Mickey for dinner. The owner was having a meltdown because "all these assholes from curtain up decided to to show up without reservations"

At that point in the evening (9PM) and her point in the timeline of that business you think she would be thrilled to just have people show up. Besides who says that to their customers, especially when we were the only people in the restaurant.

Then (e:terry) ordered Vietnamese coffee which I know we had their before and she said they don't have it. Then five minutes later I hear the same woman tell (e:Robert) they do have Vietnamese coffee but they don't make it for guests because its a pain. WTF lady.

Then I ordered the bussel sprouts and she went on this whole tirade about what a pain it is to core then for the dish.

No one wants to hear what trouble they are causing for you while they are paying you to serve them food. You can bitch all you want about it behind their back but not to their face. Either serve people and don't bitch about it to their face or don't serve people and have your staff take care of it.

I wish the best waitress I ever had at Curly's week could teach a class for her.

I really like their food at the same time I really can't stand dealing with her edgy, manic attitude every time we eat there. Most likely, I will continue to not eat there often and with the amount we eat out and the fact that her restuarant is within walking distance of work and home - she will lose out.

If only the food wasn't so tasty I wouldn't go back. The creme brulé is the best I ever had.

Curtain Up

We were downtown for curtain up last night to participate on Brian's 30 hour VJ session. I was so tired by the end I fell asleep on the floor. Thank god I brought stinky the bear because he made a great pillow.

When I saw the discarded chicken wing below, I thought you know you are in Buffalo when you find chicken wings on the ground.

Android Wear Rocks

Now there is even a browser for it with a one letter stripe keyboard that also excepts voice input and pinch to zoom

This makes the watch infinity more useful for looking stuff up.

Tour De Farms

I didn't go in the morning because I was tired. In fact I didn't even really get out of bed till noon. I also was afraid of making my slipped disk worse.

Then (e:yesthatcasey)'s bike broke down, I went to go get him at the Clinton Bailey market. That will be its own journal.

Afterwards, at around 2pm I can home and felt like I could either program more or bike. Then I started to bike toward Alden and decided that I would just go catch up. Giung about 20mph I made it by 4pm to the Oles farm and ate and drank beer with the guys.

It was the first time I was alone with my Samsung gear live watch. Having it made the bike ride so much better. I was able to change music, text (e:Joe), get directions all without having to slowdown to get out my phone. It also feels a lot safer than biking and trying to use a phone.

Google took me down Walden which is pretty scary by the galleria because of the crazy traffic. Once I past depew it had me head over toward Lancaster and onto the heritage bike trail.

The trail was amazing and offered a lot of side hiking trails that seemed pretty cool. I also saw a lot of animals from beaver to horses and cows.

When I got to the farm I was freezing and wet from sweat but it was worth it to not feel like I couldn't do it despite my stupid slipped disk.

Hawaii Moves Homeless

When I first saw the headline, that Hawaii is moving its homeless people I joked they were moving them into a concentration camp. Turns out it wasn't a joke. Weird.

The city also is planning a temporary legal campsite on a remote, mostly industrial island far from resorts. Some of Oahu’s estimated 4,700 homeless people would be allowed to camp on Sand Island, which was used during World War II as an internment camp for Japanese-Americans and is home to a wastewater treatment plant and former dump.

Little Rock City

There is a whole other part I never saw before. I can't believe we missed it having been there so many times. It was nice to get away from the city for a bit although it was terrifying climbing on the rocks.

Dancing At Impulse

We went dancing at impulse on Washington last night. Its in the old Diablo location.

On the floor was etched Impulse in giant letters through the tile. I wonder if there was a club called impulse there before because the floor was so disgustingly dirty that I think they uncovered it during renovation and not that its new.

The music was really great. I kind of wish we got there before 3am.

Alligatoah

My new favorite German musician is Alligatoah. It didn't hurt that his album cover was a snapshot of his handsome butt.

Here is one of his hit songs "Willst Du", the refrain of which is essentially, "Do you want to take drugs with me?
Then it's gonna rain red roses
I've seen it happen in a soap
Do you want to take drugs with me?
