Stages of Haircut

I started by accident without the safety so I didn't have a lot of options.

I forgot I had lips, lol. The bruises on my face are from the safety gear I use for working on the the bathroom. My nose never fits.

Home Improvement Center Sucks, Buffalo NY 14226 - Terrible Customer Service

I can't say how their work is because we never made it that far, but I can say their customer service sucks.

Two week in a row I scheduled an appointment for the Home Improvement Center (2991 Sheridan Dr Amherst, NY 14226)

to come and do an estimate for some home improvement project I am working on and took time out of my schedule.

Last week they canceled like an hour before the appointment because the guy couldn't make it. I was annoyed but things happen, I let it slide. We scheduled for today at 1PM.

At around 1 I called to confirm they were coming this time and the secretary said the guy was on his way. At 1:22, 22 minutes late, I get a call saying he couldn't park in my driveway so he wanted to reschedule.

My neighbors had some trees being cut and, like every group in the world, the workers decided my driveway was fine to park in front of.
Yes, that is annoying but the is parking all over the place within one block of walking, not to mention those people blocking the driveway were gone shortly thereafter. What if I didn't have a driveway, would he not do an estimate then? There are plenty of houses without driveways and who can guarantee off street parking right in front of a house in downtown buffalo. God forbid the guy could walk a block. That or he could have just waited seeing as he already had inconvenienced me taking off the week before.

I could have rescheduled but how can you trust someone who flakes out two weeks in a row on just the estimate. I called the guy back and canceled. Then I called the secretary and asked to speak with a manger. She says no one is around, then the same guy calls me back to say he is the manager and there is frustration on both ends because I could have told him someone would be blocking the driveway. I didn't even know that was going on. I decided to just give up on them because there was no point if the same guy who thought that was acceptable was also the manager.

Long and Stressful Day

I used to love going to work everyday but right now its taken such a bad turn where it feels like there is no direction. I can't wait for things to change.

On the technical side of things I got a lot of programming done this evening.

Those graphs aren't actually supposed to make sense. At least I hope not because that first project looks like 1% complete and 100% budget consumed.

Demolition Continued

We continued before (e:xandra)'s birthday party at my mom's. So much more is done but we need to do a mega cleanup now. Then deconstruct the floor, half the wall and the tub. Then the building can begin. I feel like once this is done we will end up learning so much which will open up the possibilities for bigger and better projects.

Mama's Kitchen - Jamacain Restauarant

We headed down to mamas on Massachusetts for lunch yesterday. The food was so delicious, I had the jerk chicken, large size. It came with cabbage, rice and beans, fried plantains and chicken. I also had a grapefruit soda called tings that was reminiscent of squirt but made with real sugar. I would definately go back, next time I want to try the fish.

More Bathroom Deconstruction

After 12 mad hours of programming I needed some sledge hammering. Not because my job was too hard but because I caught wind of everything returning back to the status quo. I want so bad for things to change.

I would like the bathroom to be taken apart enough that it is ready to be reborn. A point at which I can order new parts and hire a plumber to do the plumbing.

So glad I tore through everything tonight. The toilet pipe was rusting so bad that the large iron pipe simply cracked in two when I lifted the toilet up despite it not being bolted down. This explains the water damage below.

It would go so much faster if I

A. would order a dumpster. I haven't because I work too slowly due to my overworking on my underappreciated job and because my soon to be husband refuses to help on party nights which is just about every night he is not also working crazy hours.
B. didn't give a fuck about preserving things to bring to Buffalo Reuse. I am just about at my limit with recycling. I so carefully removed all the wall tiles. For a while I was removing the hex tiles one by one. I saved enough of them to not care anymore.

This is never going to be ready for the wedding at this pace. I also wish the furnace pipe would just go away. Right now everything looks real bad.

Funkin Neighbors

I can't believe people still use these cancer causing chemicals because of their excessive lawn vanity.

I love how the letter warns us with "You may wish to take precautious to minimize pesticide exposure to yourself, family members, pets or family possessions." but essentially we have no way to protect ourselves.

What are we supposed to do? Make sure we stay inside with the windows shut on the days listed below? Oh how convenient and its not like our house is air tight.
