Mike's Card

For the first time ever, I opened one of (e:mike)'s cards and didn't get glitter bombed. He must have some new kind of magic glue.

Food Poisoning?

On the way home from Tenessee I either got food poisoned or got the flu. The reason I thought it was food poisoning was that it all seemed so downhill after Wendys on saturday at noon. It was like the Wendys was trapped in my stomach and just wouldnt go down. It was all I could taste for so long. By saturday night I was so ill. Since then I haven't really been able to eat and honestly I don't know if I could ever eat Wendys again.

It could have been the oysters the day before but that seems like such a long duration before symptoms.

I think this is the first time in my life where I was sick and there was no one to take care of me. I hope that never happens again.

Expensive Horn

Why does horn cost so much? Seems like it would be a plentiful commodity ina meat heavy society.

Shuck Raw Bar and Ale in Knoxville

(e:yesthatcasey) and I visited Shuck Raw Raw Bar and Ale in Knoxville for dinner tonight. It was one of the tastiest raw bars I've ever been to and you guys know just how often I eat raw seafood.

It was refreshing to go to a non asian themed raw bar. I started with 6 oysters on the half shell and moved onto softshell crab and Citrus tuna crudo.

I also helped that the server was so freakin hot but sadly finished his shift part way through our meal.

If they had one of these places in Buffalo I would be there every week.

Tennesee Camping

On the way here the weather was amazing. Once we got here it changed to cold, rainy and windy. We ended up still going hiking.

The ground is made up of light brown clay shale and tons of rocks. I can imagine trying to farm on itm. Nothing like the amazing fertile top soil we have back home.

Our cabin is in the middle of the forest at the top of a mountain. From the hiking trail you could see the larger cabins at the main resort. I tried to get a pic but the camera kept focusing on the trees.

I had no idea before but we are in the same town as Dolly Parton.

Buffalo Reuse Trip

So on the trip down to Buffalo Reuse to drop off the electronics I decided to stop inside and check out their new digs. (e:terry) wouldnt let me bring our old toilet because he said it was junk but they had 100s of them. The place has lots of great stuff and then a hodge podge of pure junk.

It seems like they are going to have to have some rules about what they take at some point or they will get overun with crap.

Like who is going to want the piece of broken plywood in the picture below?

Electric Dramatica

The foyer light went out. I took down the fixture thinking the problem was the connection was in the fixture itself. Sadly, once I got the fixture down and successfully tested it using electricity from elsewhere I realized the problem was not in the fixture itself but in the line.

So I got out the multimeter and tested the voltage. Instead of being the normal 120v it was measuring 28v :( so I followed it down to the switch box and checked the lines going into the switch. Same problem 28v. argh so the problem in the line coming to the box from the circuit breaker. At least I think it is.

Tommorow, I am having an electrician by to check it out. In the meantime no electricity in the foyer, porch or Alex's room.
