Faster and harder

My second 12-14 hour work day in a row. Trying to get some stuff done quick but not as fast as my running time. Tonight I made it home in 2:47 seconds moving time. I ran so fast I almost felt like I was going to suffocate at the end.

For fun I added these two pics of twin cars. Randomly, they were both by the house at the same time.

Running Home at Midnight

I hate it when I work real late and run home because I am afraid of muggings.

North St Construction

Its going to look so good when its done and had regular corners. (e:matthew) said the corners were rounded when main street was closed due to the dubway construction and Linwood became a major thoroughfare out if the city. I guess that is also why it is one way. I hope they switch that back too.

Location services for your blog

Now you can upload kml files, which are files that track data on a map. Say the path of a walk, hike, run, drive, etc. A bunch of coordinates, etc.

Anyone can upload kml now using any of the normal estrip publishers but the estrip android app has a special tie in with google My Tracks app. You can get instructions here You will need the 1.14+ version of the estrip app to do this.

Here I took a small run down linwood to test it and see how long it would take me. You can see I got lazy but the end and shortcutted.

The superflea on walden

We went to the superflee to get more 72" records. Last time they had a million but we only bought a few because we didn't have the grammophone yet.

When we came back they were all home and (e:matthew) asked what happend to them. Apparently they didn't sell so the salesguy glued them to the wall as decoration. Too bad we didn't come back before.

I also bought a screwdriver from this store where everything was painted red. The saleslady told me the Guy they bought all the stuff from was paranoid about people stealing his stuff so he painted it all red. Sometimes he went a little too far. Check out the knife with half the blade painted.

It doesn't matter if it is fresh pressed organic flax seed oil if it expired in 2005. They tried to scratch off the expiration date, which is even more ridiculous.

A Little Rat In The Tree At Brunch

Right next to (e:Terry)'s head. It was kind of baby and cute but still a rat. I didn't know they climbed in trees. I just hung out there quietly throughout the meal.

Here you can see a blurry pic that (e:terry) got of it with his phone. Its right in that bush next to his head.

Waiting isn't so bad

In watching the video heidi posted on (e:heidi,52496) - the author mentions that people hate to wait for things. In the one example, he was saying about how people even hate to wait the one minute for a computer to boot up.

I think that is changing as people start to multitask their wait times. How do you best do that? With a smart phone. (e:enknot) and I were talking about this the other day in the context of red lights. I used to hate waiting at red lights, since I got a smart phone back in 2003 I find myself not dreading it as much and sometimes actually hoping for a red light because I know I can fill the free time checking the weather, my mail, writing a blog, reading google news, seeing if any problems happend at work, text my brother to see if he is hungry, etc. Same with doctor's offices, a line at the store, etc. I know I probably should not mention texting and driving as it is illegal but, on the other hand, you are practically parked at red light.

Anyways, I just don't mind waiting as much anymore. I think the key to happy waiting is having a device that can distract you from the waiting itself. On the other hand it sometimes starts to feel like you have no downtime, but I was never very good at downtime anyways.

What the Hay?

What was going on down there? All the streets in front of HSBC arena were blocked with bales of hay.

Clams at Dug's Dive

It was well worth the walk. P.S. the diner in the last journal was an abandoned gas station and not Dug's Dive.

Behind the new, former casino

We walked from out house at Linwood and North to Dug's Dive on the Lake. I really walk anywhere for clams. These pictures are from right behind what was to be the new casino.

I had never really walked this way before but its pretty doable. We had to go on down to Ohio st to go over the Buffalo river. I wish they had a bridge at Michigan St.

The yummy lucky charms smell from the General Mills factory is so overwhelming at this close proximity. You could actually taste it in the air.
