The plumber's house

The other night we visited a friend's friend for snacks and drinks.
The place was beautiful and had a giant inground swimming pool which
we got to swim around in. The swimming pool had a rock waterfall that
has hot water coming over it which was so freaking cool.

For snacks we had sushi and all kinds of cheese and olives. It was
the first time I ever had fish free sushi and it was blah. Not just
blah, but heavy. I really like the fish part. the thing about raw
fish is that it is light and compliments the other ingredients.
Cooked chicken in my opinion its too heavy.

Sadly, the only pic I managed to takeoff the evening was this one of
(e:terry) playing with his wind chime which was pretty awesome.

Basra Eating A Strawberry

The iphone does an amazing job with video. The quality is so much better in the orginal but its 40MB. Here is the 7MB compressed version.

Basra really likes strawberries. You could get him to follow you are the backyward all day if you had one on a string.

Pottery at Globe Market

Today while eating crabcakes at globe market, I spotted some nice looking pottery. Its all set up around these local art displays, so I assumed it was local art.

The one brown vase and the aorta one both struck my fancy and both were reasonably priced. The brown one was really heavy. Both had a tag on them for some artist/dealer on hertel.

They both look pretty orginal and I was all set on buying both or either.

That was until I flipped them over and saw they were from Vietnam and China.

Pear Leaf Blight, Fabrcea Maculata

Oh man, our pear trees which have like 1000+ pears are suffering from pear leaf blight

I think the wetness and windiness made it worse and we might lose the whole crop. It is probably too late to spray as the infection seems really severe.

I tried to trim back the highly affected areas and remove all the infected leaf bebris on the ground.

The last thursday in the square

Yesterday, I thought it was a good idea to whoop up for the last thursday in the square. I ended up hanging out with so many people. There was sameer, (e:Terry), (e:jim), and (e:heidi) at the square. Then we saw Casey down there. Afterward I saw (e:mike) and (e:libertad), (e:enknot), john and johnny and a whole bunch of random people I know from here or there.

The check continued

Continued from (e:Paul,49399)

Sorry about the mix up, please send the check back and I will have it
corrected.

I saw this last night and responded:

Sorry, I hadn't seen the email earlier - I was very busy this week and just assumed you would have rectified the situation as it was clearly your firm's error.

Unfortunately, the check was shreded after I sent you the email. You can feel free to put a stop payment on it if you are worried.

I really don't want to wait much longer as we need the money to pay for the roof and I don't see why we should be penalized for your firm's error. I reattched a picture of the check from the day we received it so you can confirm the error.

Honestly, at this point I feel like you probably owe us interest on the funds.

Would it be easier to just wire the money? I will send you the routing number and acct number as soon as you respond.

Thanks for your time,
Paul Visco

The best tuna fish ever

I know I wrote about it before but it's worth a second shot. Tuna in
oil is far superior to tuna packed in water. The can is only like
$5.00 but it's just just as good as the more expensive glass bottle.

The squirrels in the attic

I can't tell you how much I want to add them to the roadkill foto
series. Once the roof is redone that place is going to be air tight
or I am going to shoot them all in the face.

Bank Of America Sucks

Hi Terry and Paul,
Thanks for allowing me to serve you with your mortgage needs. I hope you truly enjoyed working with me as I did with you. I wanted to let you know that I appreciate all the time you spent with me working on putting this together. If I may be of any service to you in the future please do not hesitate to call. The greatest compliment I can receive is a referral from a satisfied client. You take Care! Bank of America Home loans is proud to have your business.

I am going to be honest, that was the very worst experience I ever had with a bank. It's not your fault but I didn't know who else to complain to.

The only reason we stayed with it is because after we locked in the rates went up.

The whole reason we chose countrywide/ bank of America was because the original letter said we were eligible for a three day express refinancing as we wanted to redo our roof this summer with the money. That was back in April and it just closed last week with the summer almost over.

During the months of waiting we received almost no information from Bank of America and the number we had to call had the angriest secretary who always told us she had no information or would forward us to our acct specialist's (Michelle Mazolla) voicemail that said she would get back to us in 72 hours, but would not.

In the end we lost every roofer to someone else as we could never guarntee when the money was going to come and now it's so late in the season they are all booked up.

So then we finally get our check and it's made out to the wrong people, Paul Mickelson and Paul Visco. I could see having the last name confused, but the first name, and it attached to a piece of paper with the proper naming.

In the end I guess I would have been much happier with a company that kept us informed during the entire process and delivered on it's 3 day promise.
