i hate flash

At first I loved it. I was like this is so great and then I started to realize why I hated it before. If everything was programmed or everything was made with the UI it would be fine but the fact that some stuff can get changed in the UI and then its not obvious in the programming is annoying. Right now I have a movie clip that unfortunately got scaled in an unfavorable way. It is really annoying me.

Don't worry these are not real patient's skin, but pictures off of google.

I am way happy to be programming for helping to cure cancer rather than for some stupid social networking bullshit. I just realized that yesterday. I have all kinds of plans now on what cool stuff I can make.

Strange Day

I had this weird kind of depression all day today. Maybe it is because I was making a web based skin cancer viewer and I unfortunately used real picsture of skin cancer off google to test it out all day. I think I can tell a cancerous mole from a non-cancerous one now. It's kind of ironic because all I wanted to do was go outside and sit in the sun.

The viewer is supposed to be able to pull up patient charts and allow the doctor to zoom, change saturation, brightness, contrast and sharpeness. Luckily flash can do all that in its more modern incarnation. Then they get to tag and annotate the images. So kind of like a mini flickr for cancer.

I generally hate working with flash though. Everytime I feel like I am excited about it a new version of actionscript comes out and everythign changes. With Actionscript 3 just around the corner I am just not as motivated to btoher with version 2.

There are so many things going on with the internet that I want to program and it is all moving to fast. Sometimes, i just get overwhelmed with it all.

To Whom it may concern

To Whom it may concern - I can see the potential and need of this web site. Although there are some essential issue which I believe need addressing ASAP, from a design point of view. 1st- this being a no brainer, color, white type on a green background happens to be one of the worst choices possible, next to blue type on a red back ground. Please for all those concerned think design, legibility, etc.
Thanks
Also: how do I retrieve images?

Fuck you I am confident that light green with white text is fine, if you can't handle it, try one of the 16 other themes that are avaiable to you on this free site. If that still is not good enough find anpother site because I have no interest in your opinion until you are established participant in this community. Even then, I probably will not care.

Mortgage

One company offered us the money. So it may be a mansion in my future after all. The real test is when we go to the bank tomorrow to see about refinancing the other property. It would honestly be so nice to be able to walk one block to work. I don't think it could get more ecofriendly than that. If I retired at Roswell I would never need to own my own car.

I updated the codebase for loudfeeder and picfeeder. The new version allow syou to make changes to previously posted feeds. I will probably release it tomrorow night after I meet with (e:jim).

Hope this wasn't a huge mistake

Mitch,
After careful consideration, I have decided not to pursue another career right now as I really enjoy my job at Roswell. I appologize for taking so long to get back to you.

Thank you for your time.

Best of luck,
Paul Visco

This stupid bitch. . .

Only a couple things get me really mad and this is one of them. Some stupid bitch tried to steal my boyfriend over the weekend. Not just like a casual flirt, but a long drawn out, try and turn him against me so she can steal him drama.

Luckily, she is an ugly little runt so I wasn't too worried. I almost feel bad for her because her social existence is so hopeless. Argh, I am so freakin' angry. You a fucking homewrecker, you are going to be way uglier when I kick your fucking teeth in.

For weeks she has been feeding him this crap about how he should leave me and how close she feels to him. The unfortunate thing is she lives in the garage behind our house so I have to see her all the time until we move. I hope you read this you skank and stay away from me so I don't have to mess you up.

mobile podcasts

Using my new loudfeeder app I can publish podcasts on the go from my phone which record in mp3 format. It is the most amazing capability. It is like having a radio studio to go. Now I just need to get motivated to have something to say. Here is the link to my loudfeeder podcast

Maybe I should just interview random people or record the noises of buffalo. There are so many freakin possibilities.

Make sure to read the latest (e:news) journals to find out how to start your own photosharing pic feeder or how to start your own podcast

Where are all the not white people

So I was looking at the statistics of the site today and started to wonder where all the not white people are. I mean there are a couple non-white people but in general the site is like 99.9% white.

Do you think it is the name elmwoodstrip.or implies the neighborhood elmwoodstrip which is kind of segragated. I am wondering if maybe a new name would help. I am pretty atatched to the name though. If not what else can be done to reach out to other people. Maybe even some spanish speakers. It would be pretty easy to translate the interface if I had some help.

I am also curious why so many people have signed up recently but have not written. This week I totally redid the formerlly lame welcome letter and added the tutorial link at the top. (e:jim) was supposed to help me with setting up a newbie guide but I am not sure what happend with that as I never was able to get ahold of him. When that is complete it will help to.

What can we do to get new people that not only sign up, but join in and start writing? Any ideas?
