Rzoo Question

[inlink]rzoo,2[/inlink]

What kind of questions are you looking for? You could ask people to define community in their own way. Or to talk about county taxes and all the budget cuts. It seems like everyone is interested in that but it may lead to arguments!

Media Studies Meeting

For the last semester I have not gone out with the media studies people at the pink because I have been working way too hard to have any free time. However, last night I went out so that my electronics class project partner and I could discuss our project.

I don't think I can deal with going out anymore. I had fun talking with Orkhan and Liz and seeing (e:robin) and julie, etc but I would rather do that at a table sitting coffee and speaking at a reasonable level than screaming at the top of my lungs. I sound like I have laryngitis today.

On another note, I got to speak with (e:soyeon) and tell her that I was not trying to offend her, but I don't think we understood each other so the situation will probably stay in grudge land forever. As I don't want to set up a power structure within our friendship where I am always on the defensive, I think we are going to have to downgrade to aquaintences. I will miss the days when we were on better terms.

Art again

Guess who I am talking about?

I will be discussing the development of a emmerging form community based, interactive art performance in which the spectator is equally as much part of the production as they are a witness to it. This form combines hypertext, networking, interactivity, achiving and collecting, artist collaboration, reality television, voyeurism and exhibitionism and generative/procedurally programmed literature to form a new all-consuming artistic space.

Unprotected Public Keyboard Use

Does anyone else use disgusting public keyboards. I feel like I should be using "protection" to type this journal on this digusting public keyboard. Somehow, the thrill of it being dirty makes me type on it anyways. Living on the edge without gloves. lol

I had a meeting with Dr. Halavais. He is a absolutely fantastic. I hope to be able to work with him more in the future. I spent the day working on a print version of my resume and reading a really good article about digital art and literature I wish I read it before.

New gun's by Viagara

So I had 20 minutes to play with maya after class. Terry told me about some new bomb that darpa ios making which makes the enemy want to put down their guns and get it on. I will let him explain that in detail. This was my visual interpretation of what they would begin to see after being targeted by the "eros bomb." I will definately be adding more to this series.

Google Map hacks and preg contractions

[inlink]shawnr,41[/inlink] I can fondly remember a time when I used to be able to spend time hacking around. If only I could jump through enough hoops to get back there. It is hard to believe that all of the will ever be over. It is pretty much the first time I felt my work load is out of control and not in a good way but in an everything I am working on is for someone else, it is 24/7 style consuming, and I am not having fun anymore kind of way.

Some moments I am tempted to just take one of the move away and make lots of money jobs. I guess I need to get out of buffalo eventually. I guess I will let Canisius decide that for me.

On another note, the spell check works with contractions now. I hope everyone enjoys it. I looked on the net the other day for information about preg expressions and contractions. Well, of course none of it is about regular expressions and grammar but it's all about having contractions while pregnant.

Thanks to the Basic Stamp

Thanks to the basic stamp and serin, my office looks like a tornado hit it. I am so disspointed in my basic stamp and electronics in general. However, I am excited that I got the credit card reader to work. Cassie and I will definately have the most exciting project.

Communist Education

In the reading I have to do for school tonight, it teaches you how to build a robot that spray paints protest messages.

As the vehicle rolls along the ground, the row of spray cans prints a text message in much the same way that a dot-matrix printer would. For example the word CAPITALIST would be written as:

Notice their spelling of Capitalist in the dot matrix version.

midi madness

I am becomming obsessed with midi again after listening to (e:terry) 's journal [inlink]terry,405[/inlink]. I think for my next collection, I will collect about 10,000 midi songs and start a site for midi ringtones and to let people add music to their journals easily. I can't believe how much is out there. WHat are the laws on this stuff?

I really kind of enjoy the way that Nirvana is so musakified in this midi format. It's almost like listening to Nirvana on an accordian. It reminds me of sitting under the bridge at Delaware park and lighting stuff on fire as a kid.
