Paypal alternative?

The Cat Stevens Drama

Cat Stevens, whose name is now Yusuf Islam showed up on some US terror list which resulted in the forced landing of a plane he was on and his denial of entry into the US. I totally understand why people are outraged that some innocent person could show up on a list and cause such drama in our present terror state of alert. And I realize this is just another part of Big Brother getting bigger but I have to question what makes us assume that because someone wrote music in the 70s that they couldn't be a terrorist now.

I am not suggesting that Cat Stevens is a terrorist, I am just saying that because someone was famous at one point in American pop culture doesn't make them innocent.

Cat Stevens himself is a little too weird for me. I guess I really don't understand people that are so commited to any religion that they feel it appropriate to change their name. Esther(madonna) is at the top of that list. He started out as Stephen Georgiou, then changed his name to Cat Stevens, and is now Yusuf Islam. People that do that weird me out. What are they so unconfortable with that they radically change their name. Its not like changing from Bryan to Brian. It's like name plastic surgery.

Spectropolis - I am so isolated

I want to go to the spectropolis 2004

in NYC on Oct 2. Spectropolis workshops offer an up-close look at wireless communication technologies and opportunity for hands-on play and participation. Anyone want to travel to NY with me for this one?

Wait, I changed my mind. I don't want to particpate, I want to host my own event here. Who is in for this, ajay? Why don't we push wireless art/communication events in Buffalo. i mean after all it's a much smaller city that would be way easier to unwire than NYC, right?

Mike in Action

I noticed that (e:mike) sent me a message. He is gone now but his away message reads.

Finally after bringing two tvs/two vcrs/two computers/and a camcorder into my living room I am finally able to almost do what I've been trying to do for weeks...and it will be glorious

Chicken Wings and Lost Dogs

I found a new sign on the verzion phone near our house, apparently someone lost their dog. Does anyone knwo about it?

After seeing the chicken wing ad for anchor bar and making fun of it, i decided I needed to eat chicken wings I guess their advertising worked very well. Well, not good enough that I ate at anchor bar, but enough that I ate chicken wings. I know these are disgusting.

Good Health

This is really ironic. I love this full page advertisment in the artvoice for Anchor Bar. As the title states, "Good health is everyone's business!" Then it goes into this explaination about how have smoke free bars makes everyone healthier and it is much cheeper on the establishment not having to have a filtration system, etc. I totally agree with this but does anyone see the irony in the picture which highlights a giant plate of fried chicken wings with a side of blue cheese!

They really should have used a different title.

Semantics Comming Soon

I thought very intensively about meaning in computer generated text. I like how my haikus and weatherkus have no meaning right now but are awaiting the "brains" to make themselves intelligible. This one almost did it by itself. I defintely conjurs up a mental imagine.

Posting while driving

This is going to kill me eventually. - don't suggest trying this at home. I just saw one of those double sun phenomena like in Bagdad Cafe by Wim Wender, so I had to capture and send it tto you'll because I don't think I will ever see it again.

Unfortunately, I am driving at 65 while it happend. If I die at least I can still write haikus, hahaha!
