Dad's Gift

After examing the ton's of arty stuff that my father for sure would never want I ended up getting him a gift certificate to Gabriel's Gate, my favorite restaurant in Allentown

image

Well, seeing entry this came to my journal 3 days late, now I have more to say about it. Turns out my father deosn't like Gabriel's Gate, my mother told me. So Terry, matthew, and I went there yesterday with the gift certificate. You should try that sometime, it's pretty fun because you feel special that you have a gift certificate even though you bought it.

Five Missing Journals

I wrote five journals today and sent them along with pictures via email to my journal. Unfortunately, the lame ISP had some email drama and are installing a new cisco systems router. Until then the email is all on hold. So someday soon, all the journal entries will come all at once out of time order.

Argh, I wish I had a grant right now. I have so many ideas and I want my own line, so I can ditch this server and use my own. I mean I have the server, I just need the connection.

Calamari Squid and e:peeps mixup

[inlink]lisa,32[/inlink]

Funny that you mention squid. Most of the calories that were used to produce the code for this site came from calamari. Simply put calamari energy = happy paul = quick thinking paul = programmer paul. Thank you calamari for making elmwoodstrip.com possible.

On a side note, I did not have calamri yesterday morning when I made the stupidest error. I was trying to purchase the rights to epeeps.com and instead got epeers.com. Which sound so lame. Errors like that make me so mad, but it's my own fault for not double checking. So now I own epeers.com and don't want it. I was planning on starting my social networking site, a subsidiary of (e:Strip) at epeeps. I probably still will, but I have to get over my anger about the mixup first. The idea is that elmwoodstrip.com will be about your ideas, links, pictures, etc and (e:peeps) will help you find your friends in town via cell-phone, IM, SMS, computer, networking connections. Who knows.

Video Compression and Hot Sauce

I spent the day compressing the street interview videos with mike. Check them out at

Then I headed over to Jim's Steakout for some tasty chicken finger club sandwich, see below.

We might do more interviews this weekend at the Allentown art festival.

Anyone interested in volunteering?

Rachel and The Books

Rachel,
I never read those books [inlink]rachel,73[/inlink] . Any of them! Now O'reily MySQL, or quickstart guide to javascript, those are the books in my collection, hahaha. So if I was brainwashing you, you'd be a programmer.

If you had a flag . . .

What if you had a flag and
didn't fly it at half mast because you thought Reagan wasn't a good
guy. Can you still be an American? I mean, what makes that particular
war lord special enough for a flag at half mast. I really don't think
being president should be enough to qualify you for all flags in the
nation to fly half mast when you die. Maybe if you were a good man and
a president, but Reagan?

Rudolph Gallery And Sons

Today, we headed out to get more flowers for our award winning garden. I am not so much into
gardening as Matthew and Terry but I am interested in food plants and spices. While we we here I found 18 kinds of mint, and 6 kinds of basil
and yes, the pineapple mint really tastes like pineapple.

mint types: watermint, spearmint, silver, pineapple, perfume, peppermint, orange, mountain, lime, lemon, ginger, corsican, curly, catmint, candy, blue balsam, blackberry, apple

basil type: african, cinamon, italian, lemon, spicy globe, thai

Below are some pics I just took of matthew and Terry contemplating their purchases.

Here are some shots of the mint and basil varieties.

This place is huge and they seem to have everything. It is also nice that it's local and not just another trip to homedepoop.

It's located at 2722 Clinton. Take the 190 N to Clinton, go left and it will be on your left. Check it out.

Here is my favorite the Dahlia.

Now that we have such a huge readership

We have a forum here that people seem to pay attention to. The next question becomes, how do we draw more writers and how do we begin to critically analyze our community, both the virtual and real versions, so that it makes sense.

We should use it to inspire the betterment of our community, maybe even form a citizens action committee.

Artists, you can also use this as a venue for talking about your work.

Soon, I will be also developing new modules for peer restaurant review, local business reviews, and (e:peeps) (social networking.) Any other ideas? Just post them on your journal.
