Echinacea
Missing Image ;(
I have a terrible cold and my throat is swollen shut. I went down to Feel-Rite to buy some echinancea, which always seems to work for me and it was on sale for $10.50. On sale! That is an insane price. It's usually about $7.50 to $8.00. They raised it becaus epeople are sick. That makes me so angry. I mean I understand its business but that it really putting it out of price range for lots of people I know. I guess is not as bad as prescription medicine prices, but it is still really to high.

New Postcard - Fixed Scanner
I just got my scanner to finally work again. It was stuck in lock state for two weeks which meant it wouldn't work. Just before I left to buy another one, I decided to take it apart and was able to fix it. So I scanned a leaf from one of our plants and made this new e-card.
I was supposed to be at school now but I left my keys at the office yesterday so I couldn't go.

Buffalo, Divided We Stand
In response to Robins's journal. There is no myth or mystery. In Buffalo, there exists extreme racism to the point of almost absolute segregation. I rememeber when I moved to South Carolina for College, I thought it was weird that black and white people sat on separate sides of the cafeteria in 1995! Here up North it is no different. The neighborhoods are totally divided. So much so, that in my High School there was only one Black person.
I think the idea is that after the Civil Righst movement Southern Blacks moved up north and then started to work in the factories, which made the white immigrant offspring angry. So they divided the city in half and put each one on its own side. Sadly, they are by no means equal.
What's really insane to me is that Soyeon said she has never seen racisim before, she is from Korea, and suggested she wanted to travel to the South just to see what the phenomena is all about. I told her she didn't need to go so far.

French Ban Religious Symbols in School
Another Google News Quote - "The French National Assembly has overwhelmingly voted a ban on "visible" religious adornments in public schools."
I am sure this makes people really angry but I say, "more power to you secular government!" I would like to see an all out ban on religion in France, as a model of social evolution for the world!!! I would like to see Buffalo follow in the model.

Atkins was Obese
I find this google news report to be really amusing in an ironic way. It must make all of those poor people in Buffalo eating six pounds a bacon/day with chicken wings for desert, feel really nervous. I know lots of people that follow to this diet here in Buffalo. I think the weight ocurrs because eating only protein requires more water in the digestion process and thus you lose water weight. However, I am not a nutritionist and could be totally wrong. It just sounds disgusting and dangerous. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we find out he was being financially supported by the meat and diary industry!
The following quote is from google news in a report about the circumstances around Dr. Atkins death.
"Dr Robert Atkins, creator of the famous low-carbohydrate diet, was clinically obese at the time of his death, according to medical reports made public today.
The examiner's report said that Dr Atkins had suffered a previous heart attack, congestive heart failure and hypertension, all conditions that are related to obesity."
