Today's Quote

This is so freakin' sick. I seriously cannot believe this is the CNN quote of the day. She gets it way to easy just cause she is black and a woman. At least in my opinion. I really think if she was a man people would be more critical of her but feel bad because she is the token minority in the royal court. This woman is as messed up as King George himself. How can she not be messed up, she had an oil tanker named after her.

Tonight's quote
"There's nothing I am worse at than long-term planning. I have never run my life that way. I believe that serendipity or fate or divine intervention has led me to a series of wholly implausible steps in my life. And I've been open to those twists and turns because I didn't have a long-term plan."

Radio Update

I have figured out a production pipeline for recording and publishing our live radio shows to archives on the supercomp that Terry can easily add with no programming and you can easily access and download. Simply click on the e-radio archive link under any userPic.

The current selection is a simple test of the system. Each MP3 is 1 min 30 sec long. In the future, archives will each be 10-30 min shows. If you would like a recording show of you own hosted within the archive. Please email me.

Sidekick Cam

image

I finally got my sidekick cam and set up the sidekick mobile access page. You no longer need to use a special address you just need to go to elmwoodstrip.com and the server simply decides if you are on a sidekick or not and then directs you accordingly.

I wish I could quit school and start working on development for it.

cariage rides and food banks

So for once I am watching TV, well the news at Nonna's. It was the local news, and they were talking about how our very own elwmoodstrip depends on suburbanites to come down and shop.

To draw people to the "glamour" of the strip this "shopping" season, they are bringing in cariages with horses. Terry said they had it before, but that I don't leave the house enough to remember in the winter.

Its just another step in the yuppification of (e:strip). I remember it somehow being different . . .

They were also accepting food donations at avrious locations in buffalo. Then when they listed the places it was only malls. In fact every mall. It made me wonder if it was really about making it easy to get food to people or a thinly veiled attempt to make people shop more. Who brings food to the freakin' mall. If it was really about food donations they shoukd have stationed them at grocery stores and not just malls.

link to mobile update

So the new mobile link to post a journal is elmwoodstrip.com/mobile. It lets you log in and post a journal via a mobile. Not sure how it works on a phone yet. I probably needs to be reformatted for a phone screen. If some has one please check it out and tell me what needs fixing.

In the future, I will make it so you can also send pictures. In the next couple days I will also make web formatted journal pages. Right now you can only view the elmwood journal. At least on my device due to a lack of javascript processing on the journal selection jump menu.

Now if I could just get my stupid 3D projects out of the way, I would be all set.

another moment via sidekick

Me and holly are still up. This is not my first 6:00am journal but it is definately the most awake. Lots of traffic, says holly.

Bang does a garbage can outside.

Posted via Sidekick

This is the first journal entry that I am writing from my sidekick. I figure that one I get the camera attachment, I will be a journal posting maniac. I was so excited to see how many people played it for the star today.

Someday soon, I will no longer be able to read everyone's journal anymore. I really wish I could just but sidekicks for everyone I know.

I also got the sidekick hooked up to the comp via USB and I got to see the live debugging information.

Tomorrow, me and Terry will be at Nonna's, Iin the evening everyone might go to the COOP house 208north party. I can't go cause I am alergic to dogs and cats. Oh well, that's nothing new.

I got my sidekick!

So I finally got my sidekick and its everything I ever dreamed it would be. Unfortunately, I have to wait 48 hours to be accepted into the developers group. I also need to go buy a java book. Seems lieke serious fun though. I can do so much more than I expected, including terminal emulation of a VT100 terminal.

Its my last day of work till Jan 20. Not that I won't have to work. I just won't have to go to my day job.

NYC in the Winter

So it seem sthat it snowed a lot in NYC last weekend. People were freaking out whenever I read about it. I kind of just laugh at it cause they can't possibly know how bad it can really be. And what's up with Buffalo having no snow. That kind of freaks me out global warming style. Jessica (hodown) moved to NYC to escape it and look and see for yourself.

Where did I get this photo from? I was searching on google querying "torn photo." One of the results was the page of an artist who had a blog where this picture was. The reason it was linked to him was because of his gallery of "torn shirt photos." It seems that he started a blog a while back in order to promote his art/life. Then he decided to start making and selling pron of himself. I found it quite amusing. It kind of reminded me of the underwear sales business, for those of you that rememeber that.

I am going to include a link to his site because I think it is another demonstration of how people use blogs as a virtual reflection of themselves on the web. It is not all nudity but the parts that are, are pretty riske.

Once on the site you can choose where to go - so ITS ALL IN YOUR HAND, I CLAIM NO RESPONSIBILTY FOR ANY ONE WHO LOOKS AT THIS AND IS OFFENDED BY THE SEXUALLY EXPLICIT MATERIAL OR GETS CAUGHT AT WORK. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOURSELF.

For the rest of you that will find this amusing or an interesting study into wweb phenomena check it out:

Liebe verschwunden. Ist mir aber egal.

I messed everything up really bad for a bit. I want to move to a local server. The star thing is not 100% yet, the server is in Arizona so everything was off by 3 hours.
