MIA At the Fair

First of all I did have a good time at MIA. But I also have to admit that it should have been in the city. But I blame the city for that not MIA. But to me it looked like MIA is the one that paid for it. Some of my pictures looked really dark on line but came out ok when printed. There is no way I can post all my pictures but hopefully I put up enough to give a sense of MIA with out making it dull or so that no one cares. Yeah this is a post that isn't about or for me at all. Some of the pictures will be of the fair grounds and two pictures I plan on putting up will be of bestbuy and at&t. I will be at the fair on Wends. and Fri. for events oh yeah SAT. also (FMX, Daughtry, Bus Derby). So maybe I'll put up some more pictures after some of those days but not sure yet.

Music wise there was some music I really liked. One of them was "The Heads" they have been in the news for being the kids who played on the roof of there school. During their set they reavaled that they have two drummers.

I don't remember all the history about the WSW Rock band. But if I remember correctly At West Seneca West a history teacher started like a rock club and they formed a band they are pretty good to.

Agent Me was who I saw next but I can't tell if the pictures will look good or not so I won't post any. The same thing is true with Amungus. They performed on a screen and then had people sing, dance and rap in front of it. So it was very hard to get a picture that had both the screen and the person performing in front of it clear at the same time. What I will say is with out Robie live there it lost a lot of its flair. No disrespect to the performers but with out the Fire dancers it just wasn't the same. In fact when Amungus stayed on a lot of people cleared out. It also seemed taped I was hoping they would figure out how to do a live feed so that was disapointing. So I will finish up with pictures of the fair lit up.

MIA Saturday

On Saturday I'm going out to the Fair Grounds to see Music Is Art. I know it won't be as good as previous years or at least that is what I assume but I'll still have a good time and take a bunch of pictures. Like previous years most of the bands I don't know there music. But part of it is to go see music I don't know and see other art as well. Last year I bought a couple of awesome pieces of art. I wish that they where having it for two days and in the city but I also understand that, that isn't and wasn't going to be a reality for this year. I hope it can go back to how it should be for next year. I'm sure I'll have a lot of pictures to post on Sunday or monday. The thing that is weird is that I have gotten so much more info (not that I can remember it) at their myspace page. The entertainment I think was listed in Sunday's paper if I remember correctly. In any event It will be a good time and If you are one of those people who don't really dig the fair Saturday is a good day to go and do the Fair and MIA. Also I believe at the Fair Grounds Grandstand the band Foghat performs for free. Ok hope everyone has a great weekend and Go bills!!!!!!!

Busy Aug.

I'm not sure why but it all ways seems that of the Summer months August is the busiest. First of all this weekend is the Summer X games not that I'm there but I'm watching them. Then Monday I'm Going to RAW at HSBC Arena. Aug 11th is MIA at the Erie County Fair. Also at the fair on the 15th is Freestyle Motor Cross then on that Friday Daughtry and 12 Stones and then Sat. is the Bus Derby. The bus derby isn't only buses smashing each other but that is the reason I'm going. The thing that is nice about the fair is that there is things for everyone. If you don't like the rides then you might like the games, or shows, or animal things or the shopping. That's right the shopping. There are vendors selling all kinds of stuff. Then that next week I'm going to see Margaret Cho on the 21st. I hope she is funny, some of her stuff is ok and then some it if is super funny. A few days later I'm going to the ball park brawl. That is Wrestling Matches following a Bisons game it is fun. Granted a lot of the wrestlers I have never heard of but some of them I have and are fans of. I don't think I'm going to make it see "We will Rock You" I can't figure out a time to go. But who knows maybe I'll get lucky and get up to Toronto again before summer ends.

Goodyear? Football

Today when I got home I saw the goodyear blimp in the sky over the west side so I took a few photos that I will post. Not sure how good they are. I went to their site and went to a couple News sites and none of them mentioned it being here. Does anyone know if it is here for a reason or was it passing through to get to some place else? I know that when it stays in one place there is some reason for it but it was on the move when I saw it. Hopefully if I watch the News tonight maybe they might know. Also did any other (e:peeps) see it.

The reason for my original post was to let people know about some sports that are coming up this weekend. I got an email saying that the NFL network will be Carrying A footballl game I believe on Sunday it should be the Hall of Fame game. Also on Thursday night the TV Coverage of the X-Games begings. Sometimes the sports change so I'm not sure what all the events are but watching them is allways fun. If there are any racing fans out there I'm pretty sure they will still be doing rally car. Then they allways have skateboard, BMX and Motocross events of some kind. I'm sure EXPN.com has more info and maybe even espn.com may also.

Carvings at City Hall

Before the square on Thursday I checked out some carvings that they have currently in the circle in front of City Hall. They have some that need support and then there is one that you can guess who it is. I guessed wrong according to the e-mail I got back. Here are the pictures I took.

Well I went to use the multiple upload tool and when I opened up my pictures none of them showed up so something is wrong there.

Garden Walk and Simpsons

First of all any of you who might be reading this should go to (e:pmt)'s get together it starts about now. I want to go but really can't.
1). I have nothing to cook or to bring
2). I have something I'm going to tonight
It was nice to run into (e:PMT) and (e:tinypliny) at the Garden Walk today. I wish I had the time to post pictures hopefully some time Sunday. Again I didn't think to take any pictures of them (yeah bad habit I know). I only saw a couple streets but what I saw was pretty cool or at least some of it was. In terms of pictures I also want to post the ones I took of the wood carvings before the square on Thursday.

I saw The Simpsons movie. I really like it. I can't say anything really without giving anything away. So I will just say that I liked that they still fit in Fox, and Disney Bashing. I also liked that they had some stuff in the credits. There are other parts that I really liked but if I explained them I would give away parts of the story.

Toronto Jays game

I never did make it to see the fireworks on Saturday night. But I did get to see an odd but funny movie Called "Little Miss Sunshine". I admit I did miss the first few minutes but I don't think I missed much. Here is my recounting of the trip with my mother to the Jays game.

The new plaza thing on the Canadian Side.

We found a place to park right across from "The Skydome" Yeah I know it is really Rogers Center but I still call it that. when we drove up they made you pop the trunk of your car and had these things that looked like they looked under your car. It turns out the place we parked you took and elevator that would take you right into the stadium or if you had someplace else to go in that same building I guess you could get there also if you had some reason to be there other then a game. That part was pretty cool. I then understood why they did the checks of the cars.

Here are some pictures from the place and the game. Where we where seated was a good place to see the game from but not sure the pictures I took will show much but I may try a few game pictures here they are.

Like with both Toronto and with Big League Parks or anywhere there is a monopoly on food lunch was expensive. I almost bought these Asian noodles with chicken I should have. They looked like they might be good. I liked my burger but I think i should have gotten the noodles.

The Blue Jays Beat Seatle. All in all a great day. It was kids day and they had Mascots there also. One thing I didn't get a picture of was of this little 10 year old doing both anthems.

Then it was time to roll on out of Toronto and head home.

On the way home we stopped to eat. I'm not sure where this is exactly other then that it is somewhere around Burlington. I had myself a nice early dinner. I quick review. It seemed they had a lot of very cute and young (But not to young, you know legal) wait staff. This one blond looked modelish. The service was good. The food I got was good but the bread wasn't what I was expecting the decor was interesting. There was a wall with chairs on it. I wish I would have taken more inside pictures.

Square Weekend

I don't know why but today I didn't post any comments on blogs that isn't like me at all. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that my voice is kinda different today. I got soaked at the square last night but got out of the heavy rain. But then went back to watch the two bands from under a tree. It wasn't my type of music really but I had a good time listing to a different kind of music then I know. Yeah I did get wet but that is ok. I don't think I'm going but there is supposed to be a huge Fire Works show in Niagara Falls on Saturday night. I guess it is in Celebration of Pizza Pizza's 40th year. I will be going to the Blue Jays Game. It would be cool to do both but I don't see it happening. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

As a test Here is a few Tattoo Pictures I saved from an online search. I was having a problem and Paul sent me a suggestion that I needed Flash for firefox. Not sure if mine was just for IE or if mine was just old but here is the final test.

The pictures I found starting at Miami Ink's web site and from there found a few more. What got me thinking about posting pictures is that 1. I like Miami Ink the show 2. I like tattoos 3. at the Italian fest I saw a few ladies with lots of art on there arms and that was inspiring.

I was going to post about how I watched a few movies on Sunday so I might as well finish up that thought. The first one was really cool graphicly it was "A Scanner Darkly". I guess what they did is film everything and then draw over what they filmed. It makes the animation at some points like from a distance look really real. There is a depth to it I can't explain. I really liked it. I don't know if it didn't have the awesome look to it if the story was enough. But hey it is about drugs and cool technology and survallince so it rocked. the second Was "The Island". That is a fun movie to watch. With out going into two much Detail People have clones made so they can live a full life. But what they don't know is that for the tissues to grow right they can't just keep them vegated they have to live and some of them learn to question things. I guess you could call all 3 movies SCi-fi sort of. The third Movie Was Narnia. I have seen it before but I figured it was a good time to open up the DVD and watch the adventure again. I again enjoyed it like I did the first time I saw this new version of it.

On Sunday Nights I like to watch John From Cincinatti. Granted it might not really be sci-fi. But there are weird things in it like a guy floating into the air and some people being healed. I think it is more spritual then any thing else but you can call it sci-fi. It is about a disfuctional and crazy family of surfers (not all of them). I think it is a good show. That leads into The Dead Zone. I admit I watched a few seasons before I ever saw the movie and I think like most Stephen King movies it was based on a book I didn't read but very good. I admit Meadowlands isn't sci-fi but I like it. I heard someone say it is like Desperate house wives meets twin peaks. That sounds like a good Description to me.
