Joan Martin

On thursday I'm going to the square. I admit I only know that one Joan Osborne song. I just hope if it rains that it does it in the morning and not during the show. That same night at Towne Ballroom is Jeff Martin formly of the Tea Party and Klear is opening up for him. Not sure if there is another opener or not. I gotta look up what time that show is cause maybe after Osbourne I would be able to catch some of the Jeff Martin show if he isn't on stage yet. We shall see what happens.

Asain Sunday?

So Yesterday on DVD I watched the Peking Acrobats. I got it at "The Fair" last summer. The stunts they do are pretty cool. Some of it is diving through hops, doing tricks on chairs and all kinds of different acts. You can hear Chinese music playing and there are band credits but you never see them. The music got me thinking I think it would be a cool idea to play Traditional Chinese music as hard rock or even Metal, I have no idea how it would be done but it could be pretty cool. Maybe it could be some type of mash up. The next thing I watched was "The Protector " that was a neat Martial arts movie. I like that it went it a different way. Those who are into fighting sports know of a fighting type called Maui Thai. I have seen a few fights on a reality show and it looks pretty brutal to me. The basic of the story is that Kings get power from elephants. Ok not a big elephant fan but that is a pretty interesting idea. So there are these protectors who protect the elephants because of there one weakness. As in a lot of Kung Fu movies the bad guys are never rightous and greedy and aren't even close to being good. They wind up taking the elephants so the protector goes to get his elephants back. There is a lot of fighting. One thing I found cool was that when bones break you here the snap and almost maybe even a crackle. I won't give away the ending for anyone who hasn't seen it. But one thing I will say is that it does look like some of it was really shot in Thailand with Asian elephants the one elephant kinda has a look like he is sad but maybe that has something to do with his coloring. The big elephant has tusks often you don't see that.

There is so much good and interesting TV on Sunday night it can't all be watched. Tonight I'll catch up on Entourage and Flight of the Con-chords. I have allways been a Fan of the Series the Dead Zone it is pretty cool and it seems like they are taking the show in another direction and I like that direction it is going in. I will admit that I'm not sure about "John from Cincinatti". I like the show but it is weird and takes some time to warm up to. The positives it is about surfing and has a great cast; Luke Perry, Ed O'neil, Rebeca De Mora, and a few other actors I have seen before but who's names I don't know. Then on Showtime there is a series called Medowlands. It is a suburb but it seems as if everyone there is in some kind of witness protection. But it is very dark and people have secerts and one lady is sleeping around. What I find interesting also is I assume it is in America but I think that is wrong because it sounds like everyone is British. I'm sure over time more will be found out. I should do a little research on my own and find out.

The Fems

On Thursday I had a good time at the square. I enjoyed all 3 bands The opening band was called The Rev and the Headliners where the Violent Fems. I thought the fems where very good even with only like knowing one of there songs. I ran into (e:chico) there and we talked for a few. Again when I run into someone the camera doesn't take pictures cause you are just thinking about talking. Here are some pictures that kinda reflect the scene. I didn't get any the middle band who was pretty good also, I guess you have to be to win a Juno award.

This first picture was a tester from my house since the multiple upload wasn't working but now it is.

Well I hope the entire post is here since I had to restore backup cause my stupid sister wants to play game and put the cat on me and the cats feet are all over the keyboard. In any event I had a good time on Thursday. Oh yeah and Bill Maher was funny last night. A lot of his jokes I had heard before but still very funny. Oh yeah on a side note if you can't go out to drink than walking past bars can be kinda depressing, I learned that on Thursday. But i did check out someone I knew who was playing at OPM so that was fun.
3 pictures I missed. in the conffussion:

Ramble on things to come

Why am I inside when it is gorgeous out. Oh yeah cause I don't know where to hang out, out side I guess. I'm looking forward to Seeing Bill Maher on friday. I have seen some of his comedy and I think it is funny, so I hope it is a great night. I wish I could report on all the amazing concerts and shows coming to this area but that would be impossible you pretty much have to read the Gusto, Artvoice and other papers to see everything that is going on, on a weekly basis. This just covers Buffalo then you have Rochester (assuming you drive) and Toronto. If a band you like isn't coming to Buffalo then they maybe going to the place at Canada's Wonderland. I also thought that I should mention that I think in August the CNE or as it is now called The EX is in Toronto I believe I haven't been to that in a long time, I should really look that up. I have no idea if they are still playing but Toronto has a MLS soccer team who plays at a Soccer only stadium. I believe that stadum is on the CNE grounds. I have no idea what I'm doing for the 4th of July if anything Maybe I'll just go see "The Transformers". Also in August is Americas Fair and that has I think 3 events in the grand stand I want to see. But the next concert for me is Thursday "The Violent Fems". Yeah so I don't know any of there music but maybe I'll just take pictures of the crowd. June 28th Jeff Martin of From the Tea Party is coming back I would like to see him again but I gotta remember to get tickets. I think in Aug. Margaret Cho is coming to Kleinhans. I have seen her on TV and sometimes she is very funny so that is another thing to check into. One thing that i like about Buffalo is that there is so much to do. The one problem is that some TV shows like the Dead Zone start up and other shows and if they are shows you like it is hard to see them when there is so much fun stuff to do. I know another sort of boaring post. But when you wake up early for work you can't be going out drinking till you puke on a hot chick.

Fri and sat.

Well if anyone read my previous post I just wanted to add that there is a 3rd part of what I want and that is to not deal with people. That entire thing of what movie do you want to see and when do you want to see it and just working out what we both want to see and can live with. Not that it is really a bad thing but sometimes that can be stressfull. That is the one good example that I can use. I guess maybe another one would be finding out if the person you are with wants to go to a certain concert or event before you wind up getting tickets. Then if they aren't sure thenyou get caught not knowing how many tickets to get. So because of that being alone or at least not having someone to check in with is a nice freedom. That being said I did wind up going to a movie this afternoon with my sis we went to see Oceans 13. I liked it and she did to. I didn't see 12 but I did see 11. So I don't know if any of this story had any connections to 12 or not. The movie seemed to be its own thing and I understood it all. But maybe if I saw 12 there would be more meaning to it, not sure but I had a good time. It was nice to sleeep in this morning and not be tired since I never made it out of the house to see Jackdaw last night. I just didn't feal right and was kinda tired. I wish I had something exciting to post but I don't, who knows maybe someday.

what I want 3

Not sure if the above link works I can never remember how to link to other articles I mean previous journals. But that being said for those who read my journal you may remember I wrote this long post about what I wanted. That post was really for me I guess. As I was at the sqaure last night the mind starts to wander. Sometimes that happens at out door shows. It can often be hard to concentrate on the show when there is all that "eye candy" there. You try to watch the show but all those hot/sexy/Pretty/gorgeous women of all shades and types catch your eye with out even trying to look. Then the groups of girls and the groups that know other groups. Ok so this thought comes in my head that maybe all I really want is a cute lady with a great ass and boobs (never seen a bad pair before) who gives great head. But maybe just seeing all these PYTs (to "" Micheal Jackson) at once changes how one thinks. It was like if we had anything in common it wouldn't matter just the cuteness would. I know that isn't the way to be. But there is that "superfical Atraction" when you see someone you don't know. Once you know someone that doesn't matter at all. That is one thing that is kinda cool about the internet is that you can form that connection with out knowing what anyone looks like to predjuice you. I guess the best example of that is chating somewhare. I havn't done that in a long time. I did meet some pretty cool people that way. But with it being Yahoo and not local they where from no whare even close to Buffalo. So there are those two sides of me. The one that just wants a hottie and the one that wants someone really cool. I guess that is all I have to say so hope everyone has a great weekend.

The couple things I was going to post about I basicly said in comments to others like about the Soprano's and Government consolidation or regionalism. So I thought I would put up a few pictures as a bonus to the Allentown art festival.

Allen Town 50th

First of all pictures aren't a real reflection of art fest You don't really see all the tattoos and all the eye candy and of course all the art in the great detail. For example there was some art that from a distance looked like a painting but close up it was different levels of paper under a frame. Hopefully my pictures do it justice. Hope they aren't to boaring. I just wanted to mention that I did see 6 (e:peeps) Dragonlady and Z, (e:carolinan) and I can't remember her user name, then there was 2 Chico and Chica (for short). I noticed two couples holding hands and one couple (I assume) of girls where both really cute.

Oh yeah I didn't do any of this art but the stuff I bought I thought was pretty cool the same can be said of any pictures of art work I put up. Sorry I don't know the names of the artists.

These next two pictures are of these cool looking things made from Beer and Pop cans. I didn't see them the first time around but I was alerted to them from (e:dragonlady7)'s myspace post so for that thank you I found an elephant for my sis there.

These two pictures are about documenting what isn't there and that is MIA. This year it is out at the fair grounds in August the 11th if memory is correct.

To finish up I know there is other stuff I meant to mention but I'm not really sure what it was so here are a few more pictures of art.

I had a fun two days it was really nice to get some exercise. I hope the pictures look good and aren't to boaring. I wish I could have gotten a good picture of all the seagulls flying around but I wasn't fast enough to get a good one so I didn't post any. Oh well the fun is over back to work on Monday.

Allentown Art Festival

I'm sure most people know that Sat and Sun. is the Allentown Art Festival. I believe it officaly starts at 11am both days. I know I will be there trying to find more Art that I like for my apartment and maybe even something for my mothers place who knows. I also wanted to mention that there is that part that was allways known as the "unofical Allentown " part that is on allen and they have vendors and lots of music. I thought I saw one ad for that at Elmwood and North. I'm not sure what bands are playing at what bars but I do know a lot of them play at Nietches. In the gusto in the Buffalo News today they had an interesting article about it being the 50th year of the festival. I didn't think to look and see what bands are playing where or anything like that. I havn't gotten artvoice yet to see what there coverage on it is but maybe I'll check out there website. Well what ever people do I hope you all have a great weekend.

Pride Parade 2007

image

In my previous writing I mentioned the above picture, I think it looks pretty cool to me at least. On Sunday I went to the Pride Parade but only the Parade part I walked down Elmwood Ave. until I found a group of people and there was a bunch of them in front of Spot so I thought that was a good place to watch from. I thought I would only take pictures of the parade and not the people watching it. I ran into (e:paul), (e:lilho) and I believe (e:mike) as they walked down Elmwood. I also talked to (e:mrmike) after the parade. In the parade I saw three people all (e:peeps) I knew (e:Zobar) , (e:Dragonlady7) and (e:Liberated) . They will all be in some of the pictures well here they are.

The above picture is from Richmond and Bryant.

The next pictures are of the Queen City Roller Girls. I thought this would be a good place for a break. And a good place to explain that these pictures are in the order that I took them (single uploaded pictures not in a group). The reason for that is since it is a parade you should see floats walkers or people in the order they moved, ok back to pictures.

I do think that having pride in who you are is important. That being said I think that there is a fine line between that and hate. I don't mean in terms of having pride that you are gay. What I mean is that often People use there pride for there own skin color and Nationality as putting or looking down on someone else. It happens all the time. So when ever anyone has pride they need to look at them selves and see if they are where they want to be. My best example is St. Patrick's Day. I think it is great that there is a parade and a lot of people like that you can drink on the street and it becomes a drinking holiday. But there are two negative aspects to it. All the non Irish people act like the Irish and get all drunk, that is a negative sterotype. Part of that Is because of the saying "Everybody Is Irish on St. Patrick's Day". Now that is really racist changing everyone to an Irishmen. All in all I think the Parade is a great idea it is good to have pride in who you are. The blacks have there pride things to, the only one I know about is Juneteenth. Then the polish have Dingus day and now they have a parade. Then there is the pride parade. I think that as long as others can have there Parade why not The Gay Community. Of course there are people who say it is wrong and they do it to flaunt there life style and to push there agenda. But to those people I would say if you don't like it don't go. Just like if you hate Italian Food don't go to the Italian fest or if you think all Irish people are drunken idiots that get into fights then just don't go to the Parade. I Hope that the Pride Parade grows and gets bigger every year. This is only the 2nd time I've been and I'm not sure if I had ever heard of it before last year.

Here are a few pictures that will maybe cause A little bit of Buffalo Pride.
