Halloween Twinky Hardcore Anna

I found this at 103.3 The EDGE's web site it is about Halloween.

The Story of Halloween
Halloween is one of the oldest holidays with origins going back thousands of years. The holiday we know as Halloween has had many influences from many cultures over the centuries. From the Roman's Pomona Day, to the Celtic festival of Samhain, to the Christian holidays of All Saints and All Souls Days. Hundreds of years ago in what is now Great Britain and Northern France, lived the Celts. The Celts worshipped nature and had many gods, with the sun god as their favorite. It was "he" who commanded their work and their rest times, and who made the earth beautiful and the crops grow.
The Celts celebrated their New Year on November 1st. It was celebrated every year with a festival and marked the end of the "season of the sun" and the beginning of "the season of darkness and cold."

On October 31st after the crops were all harvested and stored for the long winter the cooking fires in the homes would be extinguished. The Druids, the Celtic priests, would meet in the hilltop in the dark oak forest (oak trees were considered sacred). The Druids would light new fires and offer sacrifices of crops and animals. As they danced around the the fires, the season of the sun passed and the season of darkness would begin.

When the morning arrived the Druids would give an ember from their fires to each family who would then take them home to start new cooking fires. These fires would keep the homes warm and free from evil spirits.

The November 1st festival was called Samhain (pronounced "sow-en"). The festival would last for 3 days. Many people would parade in costumes made from the skins and heads of their animals. This festival would become the first Halloween.

During the first century the Romans invaded Britain. They brought with them many of their festivals and customs. One of these was the festival know as Pomona Day, named for their goddess of fruits and gardens. It was also celebrated around the 1st of November. After hundreds of years of Roman rule the customs of the Celtic's Samhain festival and the Roman Pomona Day mixed becoming 1 major fall holiday.

The next influence came with the spread of the new Christian religion throughout Europe and Britain. In the year 835 AD the Roman Catholic Church would make November 1st a church holiday to honor all the saints. This day was called All Saint's Day, or Hallowmas, or All Hallows. Years later the Church would make November 2nd a holy day. It was called All Souls Day and was to honor the dead. It was celebrated with big bonfires, parades, and people dressing up as saints, angels and devils.

But the spread of Christianity did not make people forget their early customs. On the eve of All Hallows, Oct. 31, people continued to celebrate the festivals of Samhain and Pomona Day. Over the years the customs from all these holidays mixed. October 31st became known as All Hallow Even, eventually All Hallow's Eve, Hallowe'en, and then - Halloween.

The Halloween we celebrate today includes all of these influences, Pomona Day's apples, nuts, and harvest, the Festival of Samhain's black cats, magic, evil spirits and death, and the ghosts, skeletons and skulls from All Saint's Day and All Soul's Day.

ALSO [I ]Thanks[/I ] for the explanation of the Twinky Defense. That is my first time hearing about it. I tried to look up the tranny award but didn't have enough time to find out what it was.

On another note. In terms of hardcore music both Stemm and Snapcase are two good bands from Buffalo. I think they are both verry good. But I don't know much about the Hardcore scene. Don't Forget To check out The Picture of Nude Anna from one of my posts below, she is so hot. Back to music for a minute. I never read
music reviews because they do no good. The only way you can tell what a band sounds like is to hear them. To hear that they sound like another band does no good to know because there are so meny aspects to what makes a band sound like a band.

Sorry this was so long But thanks for reading this. I still can't get it to be italics oh well.

I'm going to see some kind of monster That is the Metallica movie. I'm going to see it this after noon. I think it will be very good. Maybe if I see a resturant I want to try maybe I will go and give on a review. I can't think of anyplace downtown that I want to try. I saw that Artvoice had a little menu bood it was kinda cool. I saw that a lot of resturants have a lot of food that I don't like. But I still think it is a verry good referance. Hopefully it is more than a one time thing.

Varrious

Work Kinda sucked today. The line I was on was kinda crazzy. If a pack sitting down my neck and shoulder gets sore. But if I stand up then I have to bend far down and my back will hurt. Plus we needed like one more person so everything would run better and smoother.

I keep falling asleep on the Yankees and Boston keeps winning. I wonder if the curse will get them. Even if they beat the yankees I think the curse could effect the world series and they might get swept. Maybe i will see some of the game tonight.

Oh before I forget I'm not getting to caught up in the halloween thing. I will be on a cruise. So I will be out of town for it. I wonder if they will have something for it on the cruise?

the Movies

First of all I don't buy Snacks there [inlink]paul,2079[/inlink] they are two expensive sometimes I sneak candy in. The twenty is interesting sometimes. When it is about movies or shows that are coming on TV or behind the scenes stuff. But a lot of it is commericals but it is still better then a blank screen.

I thought Team America World Police was a great movie. But I'm a South Park fan and a fan of the tandum. I liked the pupets and the whole Pussies, assholes and Dicks philoshpy was both funny and cool, cause it sounds like bullshit but the more you listen to it the better it sounds. The whole Panthers as cats was cool to. I think that there was plenty of politics in it.

I only go to matinees because it is cheeper and less crowded. I try to have fun and consider that the movie is just that a movie and enjoy it for that.

Sweetest Day Answer

I found this on a website It didn't take that long.

Origins and Facts About Sweetest Day

Observed the 3rd Saturday in the month of October, Sweetest Day observance originated in Cleveland in 1922. Herbert Birch Kingston, a philanthropist and candy company employee wanted to bring happiness into the lives of orphans, shut-ins and others who were forgotten. With the help of friends, he began to distribute candy and small gifts to the underprivileged.

On the first Sweetest Day, movie star Ann Pennington presented 2,200 Cleveland newspaper boys with boxes of candy to express gratitude for their service to the public.
Another popular movie star, Theda Bara, distributed 10,000 boxes of candy to people in Cleveland hospitals and also gave candy to all who came to watch her film in a local theater.

Primarily a regional observance celebrated in the Great Lakes region and the Northeast, Sweetest Day is gradually spreading to other areas of the country. People tend to take the Sweetest Day tradition with them when they move. Ohio is the top state for Sweetest Day sales, followed by Michigan and Illinois. Texas, California and Florida are among the top 10 states in sales.

Over the years, Sweetest Day has evolved into a time to express romantic love and also to show appreciation to friends.

Sweetest Day?

What is it really? I know you are supposed to buy candy or sweets for your lady. But is it just a holiday made up by sweet tooth and other places that sell and make candy? What if you are gay or bi or have multiple sweethearts then what do you do? It's not like stake and Bj day where you eat a steak and then you get a blow job. If you are alone do you buy your self candy? Do guys only buy for girls or do both people buy for each other? Maybe I should look it up on the web and see if I can find anything. From what I know it is a valentines day jr.
