Finding Users Without the Drop Down List

I got rid of the drop down list in order to speed up load time, reduce code bloat that will only get worse as we get more users and to move the user pic, link, and stats up.

In order to make up for this I have added an alphabetize function to the (more) list which allows you to view the list by update date(default) or alphabetized. Click on (more) on the "Last 11 Since" box (notice 11 now) in order to see what I am talking about. I also moved the random journal link there, right next to the more link.

I also added a little record of your last visit on the site to the statistics. It is the same code that shows who is online. It just remembers your last visit. Rememeber that if you want to turn off your statistics ever just use the # in your contorl panel.

And don't forget about google and site search posts. Seeing as there is so much talk of the muppets and disney, I figured I would add an example search for both (GOOGLE - muppets disney) and the site [search]muppets[/search]

More Seach Post Capabilities

You can can add both site and google searches to your entries by using the magnifying glass or google logo in your stylebox. Simple type the word or words between the tags. To add multiple words simply add spaces between them :).

Notice we are #1 on (GOOGLE - elmwood strip)and have been for several weeks under "elmwood strip"

Still no one has given me any info on what happend to Steve Kurtz [search]steve kurtz[/search] after the trial.

Searches and emoticons

Searches and emoticons. I added support for searches in your entries, as well as, a couple emoticons. I didn't have time to make new emoticons :( so I borrowed some form somebody else. I will make new ones or get rid of them as soon as I get a chance.

New Style Box

Here is the new stylebox. Does anyone remember the old one from Winter 2003 with the 3 styles [inlink]news,107[/inlink]!

image

I haven't decided on the look exactly yet, but this will do for a while. Thanks to (e:lisa) for the inspiration. In order to use it simply click on the style you want on the style bar and then type the text between the tags, which are inserted into your journal. IM paul for help.

4000 Entries

We have written [size=m]4000[/size] journal entries. This will be number 4001. The amazing part is that 959 of them have been written since 6/20/04. I guess we could have 10,000 by the end year if we get a couple mroe people. Apparently, we are a people with a recorded history.

Inlink Mega Update

Finally, I worked out all the kinks with the inlink. You can use all of the features of the regular journal update box, including your image library, private/draft checkbox, upload media form, and spellcheck.

image

Also, the bug where it would erase what you wrote when you clicked on a second inlink is now gone. So go ahead and use as many inlinks as you want. It is fast and easy.

Both Backflip.com and Kanoodle.com seem to be ways of tracking your internet usage. Whoever, is looking at our site and using those, I would suggest not using them. If you need assistence creating your own link page, I can help you out. Just email me, (e:paul) from my journal.
