New user documentation, help files
As the userbase grows I am confronted with answering lots of questions each day that could be fixed by a new user guide.
It is probably better if it is not done by me as I tend to write things a little to technical for non computer freaks. Besider that ia m a terrible writer.Whoever does this will be considered my favorite epeep ;) If someone made (e:strip) tee-shirts I would give you one.

e:strip newbie guide
Maybe (e:theecarey) because she has excellent writing skills and she seems to be good at breaking stuff down. If anyone else is interested in working on it, you are all invited.
It would definately make it easier on the newbies and easier on me because it would answer many of the questions that people ask all the time.
The help files have lots of info, but I don't keep up with them, and I am not sure if (e:uncutsaniflush) (help admin) did either. A newbie guide would be an excellent supplement to that.
How should we do it? You can leave comments here. I guess the first task would be identifying what belongs in the help and what belongs in a newbie guide. I would like it one simple searchable, printable document. Does anyone else have ideas?

Official Greeter/ Helpers
new icon maybe?
Typical interaction: People sign up but have trouble confirming their email. You would have a control panel to manually confirm them. They aren't sure how to add a picture to their journal or listen to sound, etc. A lot of times the questions are even simpler than that, such as, "What is estrip about?", "Does it cost anything?", etc
While the help files would be the most obvious place to get the answers, some people just like a little coaching. So help might have a link to helper peeps online if they still have a question about something and that helper would be you.

the password is "estrip" without the quotes.
I think that if several people worked in a co-ordinated fashion the task might be managable.
As our (e:paul) has pointed it, it is a "rapidly changing interface" I know that the task proved too much for me alone. I guess the road to hell is paved with good intentions. I thought I could do it but I just wasn't up to the task.
And now, since (e:strip) relies on flashplayer8 which is unavailable for the linux platfrom, I have no way really giving step by step instructions for some features since they aren't available in linux at present. Hopefully, macromedia will release flashplayer 8.5 soon (though I can't find any scheduled release date) so I can experience all the wonderful things that (e:paul) has recently done.
