Image Library Updates

I updated the image library today to include drawings that you made using the Sketch function. They will now show up in your image library so that you may delete old ones or add them to current or updated journal entries. Hope this helps some of you out there.

For those of you that do not what your image library is, simply click on the img library button at the bottom of your journal entry form. This will bring up a window with previously uploaded images, which you can then view and add to new and updated entries. More detailed nstructions can be foudnd on the image library window itself. Check it out and email paul if you have any questions.

Another Landmark for Journal Entries

We are now officially at 4,199,379 characters typed into the database. That is a hell of a lot of typing going on. Thanks everybody for who helped bring that number up since 1,000,000 [inlink]news,132[/inlink]

Video Audio Profiler Returns Temporarily

The profiler allows you leave leave video, audio, and text messages on the site itself using a camera, micorphone, and keyboard. You can also listen to, view, and read posts from other people.

I cannot guarantee it will be up forever, or even 24/7 but check it out. I have it runing on the test server.

Someday I hope to have enough money = bandwidth to make it a permament fixture for the site.

Calendar Blues and Oil Changes

(e:matthew) , (e:terry) and I are in Cape Cod getting the oil changed for good measure. It gave me time to think about the site.
Programming the calendar at Keith's request was apparently a waste of my time from what I can see of it's usage so far. I really did not want to do it but (e:keith) kept on trying to convince me of its merrit and now nobody uses it. I hope that changes. The instructions are on the (e:info) journal.
When I get back I will start adding lots of automated calendar features. I definately plan on adding a profile section for each user. In it you can input you birthday which will then automatically go on the calendar.
Any other ideas, email (e:paul) ?

Additional upgrades

Well, not only can you add calendar events, you can also now view drawings in the user's image gallery. Previously, you could only view uploaded images. Check out (e:jill) 's journal. I made her's the default, cause she is the master of the drawing tool. Just click on gallery at the top.

This is the first time I feel like I have created a tool for other artists that people seem to get.

Elmwood Art Festival

image

I would like to plan some major initiative for the site at the elmwood art festival

I know it is way early but I figured, seeing as we have this events calendar going on, we should begin planning now. The festival itself is August 28th and 29th, 2004. That gives us plenty of time to plan in advance. Luckily for us, I also live riht in front of the main stage, so we have our whole lawn and driveway to work with.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Events Module Upgrade

image

I have worked hard today to bring you estrip events, a calendar based journal sorting system. This system was requested by (e:keith).

Because I did not want to break away from the journal system until epeeps is developed I developed the events system as a journal based system.

Instructions on how to use it can be found here [inlink]info,15[/inlink]

Government Visits

I checked into the site statistics today and over the weekend someone coming from a US government domain visted 62 pages and downloaded 4.30 MB of information for a total of 348 hits. 4.30 MB is just about all the information there is. I wonder what type of hardcore reader that was.

My guess is that it is more like a machine. I mean who could read that much information in such a sort period of time. What do they want?

If you are just a casual reader, reading this from a government location, please go ahead and send me an email or start a journal and prove me wrong.

More appologies

I really appologize for the inadequecy of the hosting company that I chose. The entire customer sevice team has been moved to a foreign land and they forgot how to speak English, or? This type of service would be fine for hosting my own site, but its really aggravating to have downtime for this site.

Th best option would be for me to host it myself on my server but I cannot afford the required connection fees for hosting a site this big.

I am looking into alternatives currently, hopefully this will not happen anymore. I had wanted to move the site to a local hosting company originally but was concerned with privacy issues, etc.

Anyone know of a grant for online communities? Or have any ideas, that I may consider.
