New link feature for inner linking

I added a quick update to allow you to easily make links to other users on the site. you can still make the inlinks to a specific journal, but if you just want to link to another user's journal, or you are writing about them and you want your readers to check out their journal, just type a letter e followed by a colon and their username. For example (e:paul) or (e:matthew)

Gallery Update

For all you visually minded (e:peeeps). You can now visually search through the history of a journal by selecting gallery, then selecting the user from the list. It will display all images in the users journals. You can then click on any image to go to the journal entry that contains it.

Site Downtime

We appologize for the downtime we experienced yesterday. Our ISP was moving datacenters and we experienced downtime from about 8PM to sometime this morning.

Gallery Beta

Check out the User Gallerys, the link is at the top. Click on the Gallery link and it will take you to the gallery page. There you select a user from the list and view all of their images. Eventually you will be able to click on the image and go to that specific journal entry. Currently, you can get to their journal by clicking on the link at the top of the gallery.

It's still under development.

Image Library Update

The Image Library has been updated to allow you to once again delete images from your library. Also, the upload media system has been changed to accept text based file names again. However, all spaces and punctuation will be stripped out of the name.

You can find the Image Library Link on your journal next to the upload media button. It now searches old months, as well.

Our readership is increasing so much

Yesterday we crossed the 200MB per day line. That means that 200MB worth of information was leaving our site destined for the readers.

We had 338 unique visitors who viewed a total of 7105 pages. Apparently 9 o'clock at night is t he time to look. Over double the information of any other hour is viewed at 9 in the eveing. So if you want to make sur eyou info is read by other, 9 is the time to publish it by.

RSS Newsfeed Capability

I programmed an RSS newsfeed for your journals. This allows you to read the journal entries.

Here is the to the RSS feed.

This will take you to the raw XML info. If you want to see it in a more stylized newsfeeder format (which you do) you will need something called an aggregator. It picks up RSS newsfeeds and displays them for you, in a human readable format. Once you download an aggregator, you can get to the rss feed for this site by clicking on this and subscribe.

Here is an RSS newsfeed aggregator for the Mac called Shrook

and here is one for PC called SharpReader

RSS newsfeeds also work on many mobile devices. Check your out if you have one.

RSS newsfeeds are like the web without all the extra crap.
