The Prom Web site
The Category is philosophy so I guess I should expand those thoughts a little bit. I wonder does having a digital camera and taking pictures and posting them change what it is to go to a prom. At first I thought no, it is just a different way to document it. But maybe it does what if you are the kid who trips and falls into the punch bowl. Before that was a funny story that maybe moved through school. But now the people who like it might post that picture cause it is funny and the person who tripped you posts it as a way of humilating you on line. To kinda follow that up If you are dancing a pose so someone can get that good shot does that change anything. What about the posse of boys or even girls who go together as friends not because they are gay. If other people take pictures and post them would that change how they view them selves going togather? Again I don't really have the answers just things to kinda think about.
Now then this gets me thinking a little bit about those sex pictures that got posted on (e:strip). The first thing is sex pictures should all ways be taken and posted with consent. I admit when I first saw them I did like them. That being said I'm not sure the intent of putting them up was right. I also think that any picture posted about anything should be put up for the same reason it is taken (generally). For example if I took a picture with an (e:peep) could be anyone lets say (e:theecarey) , (e:imk2), and (e:ladycroft) and when we took it we where having fun at a party. If I post that picture then fine. But lets say we get into a debate on (e:strip) and I get upset at one of them then it would be wrong to post that picture and say how one of those people is a back stabber or something along those lines. I know if it was me I would be pissed that this person was using a picture from when we where all having fun and is now using that picture as a negative. So I can't even Imagine sex pictures that way. I know if I had sex with some girl and she said I was a bad lay I would be upset but, hey if it was true then I could learn from it. But if she posted pictures of me or worse yet video of when things went wrong then I would be pissed. But see it would be different if we had a great time and she was reflecting back and said "Pete was a real asshole sometimes" But we sure had fun taking nude pics and posted them in a positive light. That is why I don't really have a problem with most of those famous sex videos is I think most of them where leaked not as a way to get back at someone plus in those you have to remember both people are in it.
So somehow my mind wonders to someplace completely different. But that is me and I don't know as I can get back on track. Other then to say I think documenting things like the prom, or parties is a good Idea and can be fun. Plus it is a good way to share thing with friends on line or who are out of town. But I do think that sometimes it can effect what you are doing. My joke at a couple parties has been if I catch on fire please take some pictures of it. Yes I would like someone to make sure I don't get burned to death but those with cameras should take pictures as a way to document it. I think that maybe someone should do a study on this and maybe they could get a grant to do this study. Hey another cool study would be to see how people on reality shows change based on the Video Cameras. I think a cool one would be one of those Newport or Laguna shows where the cameras can't film in the schools.
In any event Haven't had much to say lately so In case I don't have anything else to say hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!!

Carvings for a cause (2nd today)
I guess the fact that these carvings are a way to reuse trees destroyed from the October surprise It is only fair to go back in time and put up a few pictures from then.
Ok back to the Marina since the last time I've been there things have changed a little bit. By the way I'm I the only one who thinks it could be used all winter long? Granted I'm not sure what for but it shouldn't be closed at least.

Rollins
I went to see Henry Rollins spoken word at the Town Ballroom and had a great time. It is hard to sum up 3 hours in a blog really but I will try to hit some key talking points. Henry really jumps around in his stories but it still tottally makes sense. He is funny even though I don't know if he allways means it that way.
-there are a couple times that he mentions that he was in a place where he was more into the documenting what was going on then just doing it and it was like he was outside his body watching what was going on (I found that interesting)
-There was something he said about Comi-con and a few people cheered and then he joked about the people and about how they don't have girlfriends and that was a nice little bit.
-Talks about how he does shows here because of how awesome the manager is and how he has bailed him out of deep snow even in Albany
- He talks about how the tour get named and that he thinks it shouldn't have to have one and gets into why it is called Provoked
- He talked about playing with this group he really liked when they had a Benifit for them Called the Ruts we found out that when we came in the music playing was them. During this story someones pnone went off. I thought he would jump of the stage but instead he started acting out the phone call on stage then went right back into story, that was so funny I almost died right there. That was a long story but it was pretty intersting to see how someone can battle through the pain to play a benifit show
-He flew from Bruit to San Fran just to see Nick Cave and it was tottaly worth it
-He bashes people who won't think and just stay in their ideas some of this was based on people who write him
-When he goes to Lebonon he sees a lot of american type places but then finds some cool places to see
-He went to both dubai and Syria. As long as you don't get a stamp from Isreale you can go to syria . and the serian's were surprised he was there and if you come from there you get extra questions But rollins wanted more then they gave him.
-I forget the country but he gets a iraqi cab driver, he allways talks to cabies by the way. The gist is that when America undid the army they made a mistake and the general crazzyness in iraq. Both guys are sorry that america will never leave the country. Rollins goes into a great example of being on fox news to prove that just because you work someplace and have a boss doesn't mean that you like them, like how the army and iraqis didn't like saddam and where glad when they got rid of him
-Talks about how Bush talks and that runs into a great one about how He meet Christopher Walken that was very funny
-He starts a story about how an aligator tried to eat some crack head and then expands that to how it would be cool to have some predators in the city and how it would change things if when you went to your car you might have to outrace a puma.
-He also talks about how the private sector is going to help the vets because the military says some of these guys where allready messed up.
-Tells eveyone to vote and that he doesn't care who you vote for
- He jokes a few times about how long the show will be and maybe it might be even 5 hours and at the end says 3 hrs 1 min.
I know it doesn't really sound funny, but it is one of those things you kinda have to be there for. It was great and the time flew by.

Sabres and friday
If the above link works correctly (sometimes I have trouble with it) it will take you to my Sabres pictures on my webshots page. There is no way I'm going to post all of them here. Saturday I had a good time. Plus the sabres won. There was hot blond behind me and a Lady with nice boobs to my right. I wasn't trying to look but when play went to my left it was kinda tough not to see them. Even though the Sabres won I wish the Penguins would have let Crosby play. Friday the season starts and they are having that Party at the plaza before the game, I may go but guessing I'll just watch it on TV.

Warm Ups (in No order really)
Game On: (not in order really)
Sabres Win:
Miller Autographs:
It seems that around this time of the year things get very busy and there are lots of things to do and lots of Shows returning to TV and then cool new shows to watch. With all the stuff going on I still have 3 more Hockey Games I'm going to. I wouldn't mind taking a road trip to go see a game somewhere but I doubt that is going to happen. But hopefully as I see more games I can give highlights of the pictures I take. Hopefully these ones where good ones to pick sometimes viewing them small it is hard to tell.

MEGA Sabres
Tonight the sabres are playing the Penguins (right now I'm guessing) and then I'm going to the Saturday night game in Buffalo, that is there final preseason game I think. Yes I'll be yelling for the sabres but I like the penguins to and want to see if their uniforms look really any different. This year all the teams are going to new jerseys but I don't know if they will really effect the look of them or not.

Carey's Bonfire or Saturday Part 2 kinda
In terms of the fire pictures it looks like most of them came out or will come out good. The thing is that if you use a flash and are able to make it bright enough to see the people good than that most of the time makes it bright so you can't really see the fire. The above pictures where in order but these fire pictures won't be.
Some group shots?
Very soon the fire was going to get very hot when you get to the pictures with the high flame you will know what I mean.
When we first arrived we heard that later on the donkey would be braught out hey it was a mexican theme we thought we would get to see or maybe even partake in a donkey show but it turned out to be A pinata. After the pictures I got there was some fun had with a donkey head I can't wait to see how those pictures of I think (e:theecarey)'s camera but here are my pictures.
Those above should have been in order. Once the donkey got smashed opened it was determined that there was stuff still in there so it got kinda put back together and destroyed more. Here is what should be the last set of pictures from Carey's Birthday Bonfire Party.
Sorry (e:ladycroft) to mention how one thing reminds me about something about you again. But this party did a little bit. Of course the fire part did and your graduation party. But it also reminded me of how at both parties there where kinda these two groups of people there that generaly didn't interact with each other that much. But that is kinda natural when you have two groups who know the people in the own group and socialise with each other naturally. I'm not saying that the groups didn't interact at all. I also think that it is more common then people realise. That being said I had a great time and can't wait to see some more pictures from the party online. Hope you all enjoyed my pictures and didn't get tired of all the fire ones.

Blogtober fest (2nd post of the day)
There are a few things that I don't get about what went on. Why was the Blog Tables all the way in the back. If I was going to reserve tables they would be up front near the band. They would also be right near the enterance that way when bloggers walked in they would find it right away I might even put up a sign. I don't think we where the only bloggers there I think that there was no way for use to know the others and vice versa. I wish my pictures of the dancers would have came out better. I'm guessing I wasn't close enough so all the light from the flash just spread out but not sure. After the event Mike got a ticket that so wasn't his fault really. You had all these streets coming together and he did go through a green light but I guess there was a second light that he went through that was red and he almost hit two motorcycles who we later found out where cops. We did get a little lost going to (e:theecarey)'s place but through the use of cell phones got there. That will be my next post. Hopefully Monday Little short on time right now. Hope you enjoy the pictures and hope they are decent hope everyone had a great weekend.

Sweetest Day
Observed by Mostly Midwestern United States
Type Local
Date Third Saturday in October
2007 date October 20
Celebrations Giving small presents such as greeting cards, candy, and flowers to loved ones
Sweetest Day is an observance celebrated primarily in the Great Lakes region and parts of the Northeast United States on the third Saturday in October[1]. It is described by Retail Confectioners International, as "much more important for candymakers in some regions than in others (Detroit, Cleveland and Buffalo being the biggest Sweetest Day cities)" and an "occasion which offers all of us an opportunity to remember not only the sick, aged and orphaned, but also friends, relatives and associates whose helpfulness and kindness we have enjoyed."[2] Sweetest Day has also been referred to as a "concocted promotion"[3] created by the candy industry solely to increase sales of candy.

The origin of Sweetest Day is frequently attributed to candy company employee Herbert Birch Kingston as an act of philanthropy.[4] However, Bill Lubinger, a reporter for The Plain Dealer, contends that "Dozens of Cleveland's top candy makers concocted the promotion 84 years ago and it stuck, although it never became as widely accepted as hoped."[5] The Cleveland Plain Dealer's October 8, 1921 edition, which chronicles the first Sweetest Day in Cleveland, states that the first Sweetest Day was planned by a committee of 12 confectioners chaired by candymaker C. C. Hartzell. The Sweetest Day in the Year Committee distributed over 20,000 boxes of candy to "newsboys, orphans, old folks, and the poor" in Cleveland, Ohio[6]. The Sweetest Day in the Year Committee was assisted in the distribution of candy by some of the biggest movie stars of the day including Theda Bara and Ann Pennington.[7]
There were also several attempts to start a "Sweetest Day" in New York City, including a declaration of a Candy Day throughout the United States by candy manufacturers on October 8, 1922.[8] In 1927, The New York Times reported that "the powers that determine the nomenclature of the weeks of October" decreed that the week beginning on October 10, 1927 would be known as Sweetest Week.[9] On September 25, 1937, The New York Times reported under Advertising News and Notes that The National Confectioners Association had launched a "movement throughout the candy industry" to rank Sweetest Day with the nationally accepted Mother's Day, Father's Day, and St. Valentine's Day.[10] In 1940, another Sweetest Day was proclaimed on October 19. The promotional event was marked by the distribution of more than 10,000 boxes of candy by the Sweetest Day Committee.[11] The candy was distributed among 26 local charities. 225 children were given candy in the chapel at the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children on October 17, 1940.[11] 600 boxes of candy were also delivered to the presidents of the Jewish, Protestant and Catholic Big Sister groups of New York.[11]
Today
Sweetest Day now largely involves giving small presents such as greeting cards, candy, and flowers to loved ones. While it is not as large or widely observed as Valentine's Day, it is still celebrated in parts of the United States, despite persistent allegations of being a "Hallmark holiday." [12] In 2006, Hallmark marketed 151 greeting card designs for Sweetest Day. American Greetings marketed 178.[13]
I am sure this day was sponsored by the people who make Metformin, in its zillion forms.
