"....I want bi MTV"
I know what I'm about to say to some people may sound a little weird but I think it is kinda true. There are people who the way that they first saw gay or bisexual people is through MTV. I think this is more true of people my age then kids today. I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing really.
I'm not saying that there where not gay people on TV or in movies before MTV, in fact I'm sure there where. But MTV has all ways had a large young audience. People on the "Real World" seem more reel then say a story in a movie. Granted you don't really know what effect the camera has on people but I think that could be true of any documentary. I didn't see all the episodes of the Real World that Had Pedro On them in SF. But I think at the time having someone with HIV and who was gay was a pretty big deal back then, and exposed a lot of people to something they never new about. Some people might say well that was a long time ago why the fuck are you blogging about that now, and here is the answer.
This season of the Real World (yes you can see more of it online at MTV's website) Just started airing. They are in Brooklyn, NY. The first episode is always mostly about everyone moving in and meeting each other and that. I haven't seen all the seasons but so far this is the Gayest one (I don't mean that as a slur). Ok so sorry I don't remember the names after one episode. This time there are 8 roommates not 7 and the mates have mentioned that also. There is one Girl who used to be a boy and went to Thailand to get her gender reasignment (girl now used to be a boy) and she has a boyfriend back home. Then there is this girl (i find hot by the way) With tattoos who is a dating a guy back home but says that before him she only dated girls. Then there is a guy who is gay and it is so obvious and he wants to have the back of the Transgendered girl. Now where things get odd is there is the Mormon guy who claims to be a Virgin by choice. He doesn't say that he is gay or bi (but if he hasn't had sex is he really anything yet? something to ponder) but he gives off the impression to everyone that he is gay. With the 1st episode there isn't really any drama yet so you can't tell if peoples sexuality will be an issue in the house but it will be interesting to see.
I think that it is good that MTV hasn't only left homosexuality in the "real world". I don't know what other shows it has been on, but I'm guessing all the dating shows. I used to really like Room Raiders. I that one person goes to 3 peoples bedrooms and picks who to date based on what they find. I know they have had some same sex versions of that. I assume they have with the other dating shows.
For those people who love trash TV Tila Tequila had a Love finding show two years in a row, called a shot of love. I'm guessing that after the 1st year people knew what they where singing up for. But in the 1st year it was a shock, she had so many guys and so many girl each gender thought that they where the only ones competing for her love and then they find out she is bi and that it is an open compititon not sure if the guys or girls where more upset. After both shows Tila gets her heart broken once off the air and the other time on air. That then led to another show that I have not seen yet called "A double shot Of love" I guess here there is a set of Bisexual twins who are looking for love, I'm guessing that gets pretty crazy.
I'm not calling MTV a pioneer for gay rights. I'm not saying they are the only people who show gays on TV. I'm not saying that them showing some gays on TV is good or bad, or that it makes things better. I'm not sure maybe it does expose people to something they don't know about and maybe it does make them more open. Or maybe they see a show like a shot of love and think less of bisexual women. Or maybe people just view it as entertainment and it doesn't effect them, I'm not sure it depends on the person I guess.
One last thing I know people get upset that MTV doesn't play videos any more. Well that isn't really true. Most people who say that stopped watching when all they would play was Hip Hop and Rap and hard rock and metal where shoved out. You can find music on there if you know when to find it, maybe if you look real hard. I think that is why they came out with a bunch of other MTV stations like 2 and some spanish one and they own VH1 and there are others of those like classics. Not sure about on other shows but I know on the "Real World" when they play music there is this little thing on the bottom of the screen that pops up and tells the song and artist but you have to look for it. On a side note does MTV own LOGO. Ok back to football hope everyone has a great what ever is left of the weekend.

why do you like the teams you do?
NFL: In the NFL there are 5 teams I have all ways liked. The first one is the Redskins. Not sure why I liked them but Gibbs was a great coach and a great team, Maybe it had to do with how those red Helmets and Yellow bars looked so scary not sure. Besides they won 3 Super Bowls with 3 Different QB's and if I remember right wasn't Doug Williams a Black QB before having a Black QB was Cool. The Raiders I know why I like them. They are the team from across from where I was Born. Not to mention the Silver and Black and be committed to Excellence then if that wasn't enough you have the fans in the words of Mike aka (e:Vincent) "being a Raiders fan is a way of life" and when he said that it is pretty true. Plus they had a couple of my Favorite Players Howie Long, and Marcus Allen oh yeah How could I forget (going to fuck up the spelling for sure) Lial Alssedo (to bad he took all kinds of things that caused him to be get really messed up) he was a wild man. Since it was the place of my Birth you had the Gold and Red 49ers. Even if you didn't like them how could you Not with Jerry Rice (I don't care what anyone says bets WR ever to play in the NFL). It wasn't just about what he did on the field it was how he carried him self with class and style and acted like he got a touch down before. On top of being a true professional he also worked hard first one to practice and last one to leave the field. Like a lot of people I like the Bills because they are from the city that I live in and I would call them my #1 team. If all 5 of my teams where on and I could only watch one the Bills are who I would watch (I assume that wouldn't change). See these other teams I like but I don't follow them but how could you really would I get 3 TV in the same room and watch all the games.
Not being able to Follow all the games brings me to the 5th team for any of those people reading and paying attention. This is also where I jump into where things get strange. From when ever I started watching sports I have always liked the steelers. I can't remember when I started watching them Maybe when Bubby Brister was the QB or was it before that I don't remember but I have always liked them. Other then Buffalo Pittsburgh is the only city that I like multiple teams from. Yes I'm also a Penguins fan. Again this a thing where I watch them if they play the sabres or know they are on but I not ordering the NHL package to see them. The logical reason would be to think ok I like Pittsburgh but that doesn't make sense. The reason is I have never been there, I was close once at some College where you could see a bridge that I was told went there but you couldn't see the city at all. I also Have never liked the Pirates. This includes when they were the Parent team to the Buffalo Bisons. Even when the had Barry Bonds and Bobby Bonilla I didn't like them. What makes things odder is there was this NHL debate is Lemiux or Gretzky better I was always a #99 fan myself. But maybe the reason I didn't like the Pirates was for some reason I was a Blue Jays fan.
Well I guess that leads into to Baseball. I admit I like it in person but not on TV, I have watched it but on TV it seems dull. I think that has to do with if you go to a game live you learn what it is like live so on TV it is weird. Buffalo never had a Major league team so I guess Liking the Blue Jays makes sense since they are the close and I have gone to games there before. I do remember a bit of going to one as a kid when the field was on the CNE Grounds. I used to be a Yankee fan, I liked the A's kinda and I used to be a Mets fan. Yes I used to like the New York Metropolitions I was a big fan and when I collected cards All I wanted was Mets and Yankees. Dwight before he was doc and Strawberry where awesome to name just a couple. But after they left I kinda didn't care any more, I think that had more to do with not really being into baseball. That being said going to NYC to see either of those teams would be awesome.
I forgot to Mention something in Football and this happens in sports. Sometimes you will like a Team not because you like them but because of Players they have maybe that was part of why I liked certain baseball teams. It is for sure why I liked the Chicago Bears. One word and you sports fans now who I mean "Peyton" no not manning Walter Payton. As much as I liked Marcus Allen he still came in 2nd to Peyton. I could be wrong maybe it was that he had a lot of talent around him, but no one was as good as Peyton and none of these RBs in the league are as good as him. Yes there are some guys who can run and catch and have more talent but in terms of just running the Ball he was the best or maybe my favorite. That brings me to The Packers. I'm not a fan of theirs but I liked Reggie White (like two other people I mentioned allready he died way to young) and Bret Farve and before him "The Magic Man" nicknamed for how his last name got miss said all the time. So I would watch to see how he did when the games where on. On a personal note what happened this year with him not playing for The Packers and then going to the Jets was just so wrong and I blame him and the Packers it never should have happened he should have played one more year and Rogers could play next year.
I'm sure there are all kinds of reasons why people like certain teams. The thing I wonder about is if you live someplace and then move to a new place and make that home if you will start following and liking those teams. That assumes that the place you move doesn't have a your home team as an enemy then that is different. I haven't done that so I don't know. But there are at least 2 (e:peeps) on this site who have moved so It would be interesting to get there take. Oh yeah and in Indoor Lacrosse I like the Bandits since they are from Buffalo, but what do I do if San Fran gets a team. One last fact I know the XFL was a big joke to a lot of People, I liked it, I think mistakes where made and a lot of them. But the reason the games today start at around 4pm and 8 is because the XFL thought of it 1st and the NFL liked the Idea. I just hope the Steelers game doesn't go past 8 I need to see all of 24. I feel like there is something I'm forgetting but not sure what so if anyone has made it this far thanks and maybe like leave a comment or something.

Bandits eat the wings
After the game last night I did get home in time to watch the end of the Chargers vs. Colts game what a great game that turned out to be when I tuned in. Bandits won the opener so I'm happy.

Part 2 e:New Years Eve 09
I can remember when I was a kid and we did the family New Years Eve thing sometimes that some times people would list their resolutions and that would be interesting. I think if people want to change then New Years is a good way to find a time and reason to do so, it is like starting a new. I really don't do that because I know I won't follow them anyways. Then there are people who also reflect back on the year they had with highlights and lowlights and that is I think a better way for those people who are lucky enough to be able to do that. This year for me has been a year with some changes towards the end of it but not because of me directly because of my sis having a kid and then my cousin has a kid also now but again I don't think that changes my year. Yes I did meet some new people this year. Yes I went to movies that where different then the year before. Yes I loved watching the Olympics . But nothing Major happened that to me, I didn't go on any Major trips, wait that is wrong I went to My Cousins weeding in NC and that was fun, I forgot about that. I'm not saying I didn't have a good year, cause I think I did a lot of fun stuff. It is just that there isn't what would be thought of as a major event. The point I'm getting to is now that 2008 is over it is a good time to find a nice place and reflect over the last year and take time to really think about things. Then maybe think about what didn't happen that should have and see if you can make it happen. For me yes I did like the party last night and it was a lot of fun, but there is also a part of me that would have loved to go to Chicago and went to the winter classic this after noon. Lets forget that I wouldn't want to be out in the cold for hours but it is just the Idea of it.
I'm not sure where some of the Interesting ones start but they will be up and you may find them interesting. It is odd that none of that really crazy stuff happens to me (not sure if that is good or bad though).
I had a good New Years Eve and I hope everyone else did also, thanks (e:pmt) for hosting and letting me crash their. There where so many (e:peeps) that where great to see. Up top I mentioned that the winter classic was today. I can't say enough about it for it to be its own post. I watched the US broadcast and enjoyed myself and thought it was a good game. At first it looked like Chicago was going to destroy the Red Wings but they came back and the Red Wings won. It was fun to watch and looked pretty good on TV. There is a connection to last years game Conklin (sorry can't spell) Played for The Penguins in that game last year and Campell played for the Sabres, plus Kane who plays for the Black Hawks is from Buffalo (not sure if it is the city or just the area).
So the next event I'm going to is the Bandits game on Saturday, it is there Home Opener and they will be raising the Championship banner. Them winning the Championship (even though I don't play) was one of maybe the Highlight of last year not sure. 12 years is a long time and they have had there chances where you could say maybe the should have won the championship, well should isn't the right word where they could have and didn't so that was a great time. Other things that come to mind was (e:ladycroft) had a get together at Pearl St. Grill , Seeing fireworks and Jackdaw at the Marina, I think on Valentines day seeing as Summer Dies at Diablo + I think Soma followed that show, I forgot about the Fetish Show at Diablo and seeing those two lovely ladies eat each other out that was a first, Was it this Saint Patricks day I went to the Parade and then went to see Jackdaw at W, I liked that I got to celebrate my Birthday twice, I think I said the uncle thing and the way I had a Christmas weekend, Seeing Dethklok was pretty cool and so was that other concert I saw at that time, Wick'd was a great time and I got to talk to someone else who had read the book and explained how things where different. I guess my year was better then I thought thanks to anyone who read all of this and I hope this year gets better for me but I doubt it will, Happy New Year everyone!!!

NYE 08-09 at e:PMT's
Something that I think I should explain is that most of my pictures are not posed they are what is the word, I can't think of it, but when you get people in their natural state. Yes sometimes expressions are odd because people talk or move. Also the way the pictures post I do put them up in order that I take them but when you upload multiple files they aren't displayed in that same order. Where you see the champagne was very close to the ball drop, (e:lilho) did a good job getting that together and getting the word to everyone about it coming up.
When doing a picture post it is sometime tough to know at what point you should cut it and let the rest of the pictures be in the next post. I think I will cut it here and end Part 1 by saying Hope everyone has a great 2009 and at the very least that they had a good time ending 2008.

X-mas Day 2 and 3
On Sunday I watched some football and then some of the relatives got together for Pizza at my mothers house, it was a good time. I will admit though all that family stuff is tiring and I'm feeling it now. Or maybe that is just readjusting to a very heavy work day after 4 days off. I'm looking forward to NYE at (e:PMT)'s assuming a can stay awake for the ball drop, ha.
