I was telling (e:terry) about how I changed the title of estrip today after estrip.org came though and explaining to (e:twisted) about how Buffalo is the home of the original chicken wing, which led to the recording. It's really funny.

estrip.org bumper stickers!

Well, (e:kara) our new Public Relations director and I were talking about some improvements for getting estrip out there and one of the things was bumper stickers. I had put it off for a while because elmwoodstrip.org was too long for the design I wanted. For about 4 years I wanted to call the site estrip.org but I couldn't buy it as someone had it reserved. Then when talking with (e:shawnr) I checked estrip out at godaddy and it was for sale so I bought it.

Soon you will be able to get here by typing estrip.org into your browser. But best of all it is just the right length for the new bumper stickers. They will look something like this. I might change the font but tahoma is what I use for estrip so it makes sense.

I designed them two color so we should be able to get away with around $100, if we raise more money, I will just buy additional bumper stickers

Happy Almost 3,000,000

Here is a fun statistic to think about.

If you read an average of 200 words per minute
which is 12,000 words per hour
which is 288,000 per day
which is 2,880,000 per 10 days of non stop reading

you still would not be done reading the journals of estrip, and that doesn't even include the chat!

For those of you that read all of those, and I know there are some of you that have, congratulations - you deserve an award.

Happy almost 3,000,000 words. I am going to dig up some more statistics toinight. Liek how many of those words were thumbed out on mobile keypads. It hurts my thumbs to think about it.

Fixed the user sound upload fetaure

I fixed the usersound upload feature and added a feature so you can redownload it before you change it if you lost the original. That way you can redownload it if you want.

RSS feed fix

I noticed the RSS feed on (e:dragonlady)'s livejournal feed

had messged up apostrophe's that resulted when I was stripping the ampersands for some javascript I was using it for before.

It's all okay now, but (e:zobar), you should delete the cache for that wherever it is so that can re-cache.

Thanks (e:terry) for bringing it up. You can now you a normal letter e with colon in a sentence.

Loudfeeder - Make your own Podcast

I have created another application like picfeeder

This one is called loudfeeder and allows you to make your own podcasts for sharing music and sound with programs on programs that can handle podcasts (WIKIPEDIA - podcast) such as itunes.

I am going to ask that you please do not share copyrighted music witht his technology. If you do I will ban you form loudfeeder and estrip. However, you can feel free to share music you created, or the music of any band you have the permisison to share.

You can also use it to cast your own podcast radio shows. If anyone starts their own show please tell me so that we can syndicate it on elmwood radio.

Here is the podcast creator interface, you can see it looks a lot like picfeeder

and behaves exactly the same way makign it easy to use both.

Here is how you subscribe to your podcast on itunes

You can give the address of your podcast to any of your friednds that you want to subscribe. When they subscribe they will recieved automatic updates of whatever is in your feed right into their player. There are many other podcast player out there. Just search on google. They even have them for phones and PPCs.

I started my own podcast using loudfeeder with the first song being one I created with a software drum machine You can subscribe to it by putting this addr

I will probably be using it to start a mobile podcast from my phone which has an mp3 recorder and works with loudfeeder.

I also bought loudfeeder and picfeeder.com so maybe if it works out I will extend subscriptions to other people.

This program can download podcasts on windows, mac and linux if you don't have itunes

pic feeder is ready to go

Okay now I added instructions and a bunch of other features and checks. Anyone who wants a photo sharing RSS feed should check it out. You get a free account by being an epeep. Just log in with your estrip ID after clicking ont he picfeeder tag to the right of the latest entries list. RIght now images are limited to 400k.

I would suggest sage

as an RSS reader for firefox or sharpreader

for windows.
