Artvoice and Mini Update

On another note, who wants to go to the Artvoice Party on Monday from 6-9 to see if we won the best blog in Buffalo contest. I really hope we do, somehow it would justify a lot of the hard work, even though the real satisfaction is in seeing how much you guys all publish and visit the site. Here's to 11,000 entries which is just aorund the corner.

I fixed the publish box bug. It should now stay open as long as its not empty, including when you return the page from uplaoding a media file.

Sorry about the delay, it was only a one line change but I was so freakin' busy.

New .amr File Format Accepted

I added support for the .amr audio file format. It is a highly compressed audio file format that is used on mobile phones. Like the 3gpp mobile video format I added before, it's default player is quicktime 6.3. However, I believe other programs can play and/or support this. Maybe (e:uncutsaniflush) can figure something out if they don't. If not just make sure you have quicktime support, it is free at

Who wants to go to Artvoice Absolut?

Anyone want to go to the Artvoice Absolut party on Septemeber 12th to see if we came in as Buffalo's #1 blog site? It is Monday from 6-9PM. Maybe a bunch of us should go, it could be fun. I have a feeling that Buffalo Rising will win because they have more connections. I wish we wern't up against blogger blogs. I can't wait for them to release their new site. (e:zack) says it will be awesome.

I think we are probably once of only a few commercial free community blog sites in the country. Maybe that will count for something.

IE 7 Beta download

As I said yesterday in the chatbox, internet explorer 7 beta is now available

for download. I hate IE just as much as the next guy but at least this veriosn has native support for pngs and tabs!

When installing it checks to see if you have a valid copy of windows. It also requires a restart which I think is so lame but it is fun to get a glimpse of the future of crap technology!

New themes

I added some new themesand brought back a bunch of old ones after some retrofitting. Here are 11 themes now minus the amerika style which was just for the party. To switch the theme go to the homepage by clicking on the site banner and then look to the far right of your browser window. The icons are directory on the right side of latest entries list. So people always ask me, why I don't start having advertisements to support the site. I have about 10,000 reasons but they say a picture says a thousand words. This is an article about a Nagasaki Rembrance Day Vigil in Japan faetured inthe guardian UK

. On the page they have a large picture of a woman looking very solomn burning insense for ease the souls of the dead, juxtaposed with an advertisment for gential herpes creme.
