2012 May Skiffle
But for anyone who reads me 2 things first.. Sorry I didn't vote at all in the artvoice thing... I never got around to it...Opps ... Now what got me thinking about that is how tasty they make a burger there.... Now the second thing is a question and a few pix after it...
1. Should Burger king have a garbage right by the bus stop?
2. Should NFTA have them at all Shelters?
3. Or maybe buffalo can be like a real City like Toronto and have pickups all year round on the sidewalks maybe even re-cycle ?
Ok some random pictures from the show.......

So I admit I haven't had much to say lately.... But ah that is ok I guess... Soon summer will be here and there will be photos from all kinds of events I assume... Would be fun though if I had a cellphone. Then I could post a pix here and figure out how to share from here to twitter .... I also haven't got into the teachers thing cause arrgh.....
Oh yeah the link up there leads to a buffalo news story about a place that opened that some might be interested in... At the least someone might want to go on a Grant St. Run like people do on the strip?

Today’s grand opening of a tiny store on Grant Street near Forest Avenue on the city’s West Side may go unnoticed by most, but it’s life-changing for Kaji Sunwar and the emerging Bhutanese Nepali community in Buffalo.
Just four years after arriving from Nepal, Sunwar is now a proud business owner. And his new store, Sagarmatha Groceries, is a little corner of the city that his countrymen can call their own.
They owe thanks to some enterprising college students and a local company that also got its start as a small business on the West Side.
“My thinking was when I got to America I would do anything — washing, cleaning, anything,†Sunwar said on Friday. “I never thought I’d have a store.â€
The idea for the store began with the Students in Free Enterprise program at Canisius College.
SIFE, as it’s known, is a nonprofit student organization — with chapters worldwide — that creates business projects to better local communities.
The Canisius chapter, which has a few dozen students, wanted to work with the refugee population and came up with a student-managed micro-loan program for small-business startups.
Rich Products, which has long been involved with the student organization, liked the idea and backed it with $30,000.
“Over 65 years ago, Rich’s began as a small business on the West Side,†said Howard Rich, vice president of community relations. “We are thrilled for the opportunity to give back to the community that supported us.â€
Once the student group got to know those in the refugee community, it quickly became clear that Sunwar would be their first prospective businessman, said Patricia Hutton, a professor of economics and finance at Canisius, who serves as SIFE adviser.
“He’s educated, he speaks English fluently and he knows everybody in the community,†Hutton said.
Sunwar, 32, was born in Bhutan, a country in South Asia nestled between India and China, where his father was a member of the royal guard and the family lived on the palace grounds.
But when the king’s father-in- law found out the family was Christian, they were told to worship at the Buddhist temple or leave the kingdom. They left.
For years, Sunwar was in a refugee camp in Nepal, where he went to school and lived in a 13-by-19-foot tent with his parents, sister and four younger brothers.
His father’s construction job helped pay to send Sunwar to college in India, where he earned a master’s in business administration. He returned to Nepal and worked as a teacher to help send his brothers to college.
In 2007, Sunwar went to an office of the United Nations refugee agency to apply for resettlement. In May 2008, Sunwar and his entire family were resettled in Buffalo by Catholic Charities.
“I never thought in my life I’d be an American,†Sunwar said. “It is amazing.â€
In fact, Sunwar thought Hutton was kidding him when she discussed the opportunity to open his own business.
But the Canisius student organization — led by Miguel Lopez, Briana Miller, Brianne Victor and Elena Popova—helped him write a business plan. Then, they stuck with him through the process — everything from applying for a city license to buying store shelving.
“Helping someone find their little niche, that was an interest to me,†Lopez said. “I wanted Kaji to be that person to help his community grow. He can be an inspiration to other people.â€
Sunwar opened the doors to the store at 489 Grant St. a couple of weeks ago. As he repays the low-interest loan, that money will be used for more small-business loans to other refugees.
“I can’t express my thanks to them,†Sunwar said, “They have done a great, great job for me and my community.â€
Since Sunwar arrived in Buffalo, hundreds more Bhutanese refugees have followed and settled on the West Side.
They often hop a bus to an Asian market in Amherst to get their traditional spices and foods, so the opening of Sunwar’s neighborhood store will make it much easier.
The shelves are stocked with specialty products, ranging from chili pickle to hard cheese from Nepal to beaded necklaces made by women in the local Bhutanese Nepali community. Toward the back, there are used books for people to borrow. More than a store, it’s a place for the Bhutanese to gather, to socialize.
Sunwar, meanwhile, has a day job, but the rest of his family will pitch in to help run the store. He’s hopeful.
“This will work,†Sunwar said. “This will be a good business and I can make it.â€

I chose box instead of " " since I think it is a better way of reading it? Also I admit Canisius send me all kinds of stuff we want money... I never give.. But if they had a way [maybe I just don't know about it] to give money just to this part and not on what ever (basketball/football team) they want to spend it on I think I would give....
2 Things I forgot
A. Yes this story is a bit for (e:tinypliny) but then I thought about the fact that on this site there is a big Canisius Connection ... Now if people take that as a positive or negative in their life is up to them.....
B. There are and have been refugees who live right by me... But they don't really talk to me (What would we talk about anyways) now I don't know what country they are from but maybe this might help them?

Whitney Glee
But this brings up the question of drugs and how people think she ruined her life.... I don't think she did... I think she died doing what she loves... Yes it is sad for the family she left behind... Yes she was an Addict but guess what everyone that goes to Happy Hour after work to take the edge of before they go home is also... Now she died with drugs in her system but drowned.... I just hope she passed out then drowned and it wasn't like she knew she was but couldn't move cause that would be awefull .... But I say that she loved the drugs more then her family.....
Now I'm sure most people would say no she is addicted.... Yes addiction is very real and it does destroy many lives... But it is a choice also... If you want to do a line of blow, or take some club drugs when you go dancing... or what ever you can get addicted that is the chance you take with any drug...
Now Then why doesn't rehab work.... Well for many the addiction is to strong... But for all the famous people we see in the news it is because they don't want to stop they don't want to change... But they are forced into it... But they are happy.... Then they get sober and I don't buy that they think they are better off now.... Well maybe they do...... It all depends on the person.... At some point they may go ok want to change my life I don't like what this drug is doing to me... But so often they love it and like it .... But sometimes by the time they decide to change the damage is done....
In this case that is why I feel happened to Whitney she lost her voice... So once that happened what is the choice......
I remember working with someone years ago who said her Aunt Dione Warwick was a big coke head... I can't confirm it but it would make sense...
In any event she had amazing music and looking forward to glee... I think the drug issue won't be touched cause it is about the music but who knows?

Bandits Make the Playoffs 2012
The last set of pictures is they had this thing where fans won game warn Jerseys ...
But first a couple weeks ago I went to 464 and got a new piece of art.... It is the black and white I call it Bumble Bee Samurai wonder if there is a Wu Tang Clan Connection?
I need to explain that when the Bandits win they do a Victory lap...
Also the guy next to me sometimes with a big win hopes up and sticks his arm over the glass.... Yes players that see that jump up or hit is hand or some combo with the stick.... This time the bandettes did the lap also.... Now the thing in the middle of the field not sure if Lacrosse or Hockey started that with the sticks but it is a tribute to the fans.....
So if this was a TV show they would call this breaking the 5th wall... Where I talk to anyone whom is viewing this.... Honestly I have a game on line I want to play and tons of stuff to watch and I'm tired of posting pictures so it is like 2 more and that is it......

2012 Opening Day Bisons
Oh have to mention that the Ball Park has been there for 25 Years.... I have no idea how that can be true... Feels like just a few years ago they had the 10 Year stuff......
So I guess what I'm trying to do is not show the sports side but the being at the game thing what ever you call that.... Now here in the race they explained that celery was winning but then tweeted .... Think Chicken wing winning got booed think my sis or maybe others yelled about Good health... I yelled don't boo if it wasn't for the chicken wing no one would ever know the other two or something like that... Good time....
Doubt it will happen but would be cool to go see some Major League games.....
Yes Fist Pump Cam
This time singing God Bless America
Game Ended in what felt like this heavy rain but ice on the jacket... It rained pregame a bit and as the game started the sun came out of no-ware and the bisons won :)

Good Friday 2012
Worked some OT yeah it was nice to get out early but also would have loved to stack time..... That being said though I felt kinda sorry for the temps... It isn't a holiday for them so as they aren't getting a full week I'm getting 4hrs OT....
Then later it was off to see Skiffle Minstrels ..... If that was you (e:mrmike) sorry as I was off to food saw yeah and you looked busy well that isn't the right word I was moving pretty quick..... Now I don't know why exactly but one of the members is no longer part of the band.... They never came out and said it but on one song they go Well Lets see how this goes so... I think Ron was a great part of the band.... I would go check out what he does musicology wise and if I like it see more of it and still go see them..... Then after the that went to a cool Art show at 464 and bought a piece by Eric Goltz (not sure on the spelling that is amazing I think) [I decided that I think I have the money and the money to donate to a couple of things once easter is over hope I'm right....] But I have to pick it up after the show is over.....
Tonight is the bandits not even sure about if they can make the playoffs so here are the pictures from before, during and after the show and yes the food was great and I ate it all.......
Ok Editing note Putting this Into Draft mode and back to it latter so if it doesn't make sense you know why...... Gotta go help the sister ......
Now one odd thing is that when I put this into private mode I'm not sure why the sideways Pictures are side ways instead of the other way...... I'm guessing it has to do with the software.... Well I only took a few at 464 some of the art work was amazing wish I had more room and more money to buy lots of it.....
Yeah those last Shots are the moon near my place....
