6th anniversary of the blackout
It was a beautiful day out today and I guess the hotness of it kind of brought back those emotions associated with it on having the lights go out on many levels at the same times doesn't hurt in bringing things back.
Other than that I just roamed Buffalo while most people were working and it felt great. From watching the young actors reherse in Delaware park to running into (e:tinypliny) it was a great day and walking around for about 4 hours felt pretty good.
As Summer seems like it decided to show up I was also going through some summer songs on Youtube that were big 10 years ago for some strange reason.
As I remember drinking in LA around that time coming back from Vegas.
They were from Canada and started out as a Punk band.
Greg Alexander & Stephie from "All in the Family" totally sold their musical careers short. Just because he got all freaked out about pissing off 4 celebrities he just shut down or at least that's my take on it.
Then I didn't realize the New Radicals reunited and made this Obama song under the name The Not So Silent Majority. Seriously I wonder what would have happened it they did get their minds straight and kept on making records?

Boring Saturday
Other than that I"m just shocked that people are afraid of a Swedish Supermodel I don't know if it's my bias since I a secret love of industrial and synth pop music which pretty much comes from and thrives in Germanic countries, but I think she's beautiful and the song is the same as well. Ok I'm really biased as I went home with someone from the Continental who actually gave me a look like she does in the end of the video.

beer summit
It will be Bud Light for Obama, Blue Moon for Crowley and Red Stripe for Gates, the White House says.
So we have InBev for Obama (Belgium/Brazil), MolsonCoors for Crowley (Canada) and Diagio for Gates (United Kingdom) What happened to having all of the stimulus money being directed to be spent buying products from domestic companies? ;-)
Then again their only choices would be PBR, Genny and Sam Adams if they were to stay with USA owned companies if you think about it on a macro scale.

MER Class Action Lawsuit
I owned a few shared of Merrill Lynch back in '07. I was kind of naive and bought it on the "advice" of Eric Bolling who at the time was on CNBC's Fast Money show. Needless to say I bought it at 96.89 and was stopped out at 89.26 Needless to say I wish I was short back in Jan of '07 specifically at that price with my life savings at the time as I would be living in my house all paid for in cash. Yea, hindsight is always 20/20 right?
Well at least someone on (e:strip) is going to get a piece of the "Bailout" money ;-) Or in my case I'm going to get back a portion of my tax dollars to "save the too big's to fail!"

Depeche Mode Concert
Beware of the Asian Lesbian Foot Fetish Blow Job ;-)
But it was a great time as I realized that I could skip the line and also gain access to a lounge by doing business with a certain company. All I wish is that I had known this in my prior visits to the MA. But this time I played it a bit more local as I parked my car in Oakville and took the train in and out of the city.

Sunday Nights
Other than that I'm kind of sad tonight. I was listening to the Martin Streek tribute before I meet up with him and it really hit home driving it in that he's never going to be on the air again. At least there is the live to air shows going on still and listening to the Velvet Underground show tonight and after hearing the Chameleons UK "Swamp thing" it really made me a bit emotional. Not only that but earlier int the day I had a 5 year relationship/friendship whatever it was mutually ended. It really in the end is for the best as I don't think honestly I can "move on" to whatever is next for me with her always in the background being emotional every 3 month or so trying to to a post-mortem on our "relationship" which is annoying when it is the same thing over and over again.
Anyway I'm just happy that the "spirit" of Martin is still going on for the time being. Who knows what will happen in the future or to the station, but for the moment I'm hearing The Cure "Just live Heaven" & Tones on Tail "Go." So that brings me a bit of joy in overall a kind of sad day. When a friendship ended and listening to a tribute of a very interesting person who committed suicide what can you really feel?

Italian Fest
Here are some really bad pics of all the contestants.
I was standing in back and these guys caught my attention, they were kind of like a crude working class version of Edgar Bergen and Mortimer Snerd. They were actually making half way descent comments about the contestants but also some off color ones about others.
St Anthony (Maybe I should start praying to him to find my lost girlfriend ;-))
This year I topped it off with Clams from the Lobsterhut
And of course there is the after in which I arrainge the shells in some sort of orderly fashion.

Martin Streek RIP
He always had a crazy energy, especially when you engaged him in conversation. I think I requested Anna's a Speed Freak by Pure once at the old Kingdom in Burlington after shooting the shit with him back in the late 90's. He reminded me of some old dude @ the Pink that still picked up 21 year olds even though he was in his 40's, some guys have that passionate edge but unfortunately in his case it may have been his downfall.
This economy is crazy, even though he was downsized back in May I seriously thought he was on some vacation or something. It's just also kind of creepy that he wrote his suicide note as a facebook update.
Earlier today, Martin Streek updated his Facebook status message with words that sound so ominous now. This, it turns out, is Martin's farewell to the world.
So...I guess that's it...thanks everyone...I'm sorry to those I should be sorry to, I love you to those that I love, and I will see you all again soon (not too soon though)... Let the stories begin.
Wow I feel so old as so much as he was so much a part of my life every Friday, Saturday and sometimes Sunday. I will always going up to The Kingdom in Burlington on Friday's; the couple of times I went to the Phoenix and the Sunday's @ Whiskey Saigon were some of the kick ass times in my life as I did score a VIP card from an ex of mine for a year once. Now even if I didn't manage to go up there it always pumped me up to hear the stuff on the live to air shows that they never played at all during the week. The Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Sisters of Mercy and nowadays Killswitch Engage. Although the shows have gone on for the most part since he was let go from the station in May, it's not going to be the same as I've been listening to him for 20 years. He won't ever reappear on some other station like Chris Sheppard and give me a change to think my opinion.
You'll be missed Martin :'-(

I can't imagine what it is like to see that it was 6 years ago to just know that the Marriage had to end. I really can't imagine that. I can't even imagine being married. But then again I also don't remember that black out either. But I'm sure if I lived where you did I would remember it well.
On another note today should be a great time.
Those are some really old videos! I remember one of the songs was somewhat back home because they lifted that tune and made a bollywoood version in Hindi! I can't remember the name (or the movie) of that song!
